The rooms were large and ours had a patio with a view out over the small on property lake all the way to Lake Arenal. Absolutely beautiful! There was a small fridge, wine glasses, water glasses and coffee cups, coffee maker (espresso). The breakfast was excellent! Fresh tropical fruit, coffee, juice, eggs, plantains, toast, pico de gallo, and meat (I’m vegetarian so don’t know what kind, but my traveling companions who are carnivores enjoyed it!) Also, incredible pineapple jam for the toast. There were other options, but we had to keep asking for refills of the pineapple because we were slathering it on! Two for one cocktails in the bar for happy hour. The trail down to the lake was beautiful and the views out to Lake Arenal were fantastic. Of note: the staff were all exceptionally friendly and went out of our way to make us feel welcome. We stayed two nights (group of 8 in several rooms) and all of us want to come back. For lunch, highly recommend Stella’s (their passion fruit/mango pie is the stuff dreams are made of). The menu is wonderful and everyone loves their sandwiches. Across the street is a fabulous coffee roaster/coffee house (Cafe de Monteverde) that monkeys visit early in the morning. We went to Treetop for dinner and can’t really recommend it. Expensive and the food was pretty bad. The live music was great, though, so recommend it for beverages and ambience only. Also recommend Monteverde Brewing. Nice selection of beers and fun people.

The only thing I can think of is that the tv is kind of small? We didn’t turn it on so it didn’t matter. Why go to Monteverde to watch tv?!? 😉

Awesome location. Couldn’t pick a better spot for the activities. Real close to the cloud forest and Curi Cancha. Beautiful property with birds and blooms.

Bit outdated bathroom fixtures. Road access to the rooms can be better. Why repeat the la fortuna to Monteverde road in the property? Can’t it be paved?

Front desk was excellent. Great help in arranging tours. Very friendly. Property has great bird watching and is close to two excellent restaurants: Thomas & Tiego and Dom Luis. can walk to in 5 minutes.

The only reason I gave the hotel 4 stars was the breakfast. The first day eggs and supposed hot food were barely warm. I don't think they turned on the heat. Fruit was not cored well. The second and third days it got marginally better and on the last day it close to good. They need an attentive manager.

Location, sunsets, large rooms ,comfy beds, views. Staff so helpful , good English and gave great suggestions for best things to do , organised everything including shuttles , all for best prices. Very good value .

The room has a balcony with a great view of the Pacific side of Costa Rica from Monteverde. It's also spacious with 1970s style decoration and a huge bath tub. It's also away from the main building and very quiet.

The bath tub stopper leaked and hot water supply was limited (after a while water out of the shower turned a little cool). The hotel is high up in the mountain so transportation needs a little bit of planning. But other than that, it's a great place with a great view!

It is an great hotel to stay in Monteverde, we have stayed in other hotel night before which can was 3 times more expensive and not as nice as this hotel. Great value of money and good location.

The property was in a good location. Very big in terms of the room and bathroom. Lovely grounds which you could walk around - we saw a number of animals during our walk which was lovely. Staff on reception were extremely helpful. The breakfast was good.

The view is stunning and rooms comfortable, though modest. Main lobby has lots of seating and a library reading corner. As a birdwatcher, I appreciated the forest trail, hummingbird feeders and birds on site.

Wifi issues meant only available in lobby and restaurant. Restaurant was disappointing with an undercooked hamburger patty and 'interesting' menu interpretation (a chimichuri sauce that was really a mild fresh tomato salsa)

A refresh of the facilities would be nice. The bath/shower faucets were very functional but older. The sheets and bedding also show signs of aging. Breakfast was fine but nothing to write home about.

Everything was awesome. Me and my husband are super satisfied. Breakfasts are delicious. Personnel is very attentive, kind and welcoming. Super clean accommodation and just simply nice.
