Rooms were lovely and so was the pool. Very clean and nice location right in town.

Pricey food/drinks. Organised taxi for us that charged us $30 USD 15 mins drive.

The newly-opened hotel is beautifully decorated. We managed to upgrade our room to a bungalow after we had arrived and we enjoyed it very much. The garden and restaurant are just lovely.

Our bungalow pool light wasn’t working, so we would use the pool only during the day. The reception guy said they couldn’t fix it and it had been previously reported by other guests. Also, there was an unpleasant stench all around the parking and hotel entrance. There must be some sewage problem.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Namú. This boutique-style hotel is beautifully landscaped, hidden away on the edge of Puerto Viejo yet perfectly located for the town and its many amenities. Breakfast was high-end à la carte and delicious rather than the usual buffet scrum for congealed scrambled eggs etc, although service was erratic and glacial in pace. We did not eat lunch or dinner at the hotel as we preferred to try the local sodas. Nor did we use the expensive spa or book costly excursions through the hotel (there are much cheaper options in town or using the Viator app). Drinks are however good value by Costa Rican hotel standards. Staff were friendly and our air-conditioned room (one of the upper floor 'masters') was comfortable and cleaned each day. Upper windows are not curtained so early-morning light is an issue. Pool is small with just ten fixed and rather uncomfortable loungers for up to 40 guests, with one pair of loungers lacking cushions or a shade.

Hotel would be worth a score of 9 were it not for one overriding issue, mentioned in other reviews: noise. The walls in our room were very thin, so we heard all the conversations and loud TV of our rather unsociable neighbours. This is also the first hotel we have stayed in where the reception offer ear plugs on account of noisy weekend parties in a local bar running into the early hours. Namú is a good option if you want to spend a few days in Puerto Viejo, but bring an eye mask and your own ear plugs.

Many (8+?) breakfast selections so you won't get bored on a long stay. Nice restaurant. Great cheerful service. Waking up to the sounds of the animals in the morning. The beds were very comfy. Beautiful cozy place with lots of areas to read and relax. The location is easy walk to all of Puerto Viejo. This place really stands out compared to anything else close to town. Child free.

There were some guests being far too noisy around the pool which ruins the otherwise tranquil respectful vibes it would have been nice for a manager to address that politely. Pre booked a massage in the morning for 5pm but didn't start until 5:30. Sauna isn't accessible when a massage is happening.

Best hotel in Costa Rica, large rooms, very spacious, and a premium feel to everything. The pool was fantastic, and the massage in the spa is something to come back to a second time.

It might be considered a little expensive, but it is definitely worth it! We stayed in two rooms. Our second room that we stayed in had AC only in the sleeping rooms and not in the living room where the TV was, and there wasn't a couch to lounge on. But the hotel overall was amazing

This place is a paradise. Everything during our stay was perfect. The whole area is so well maintained, clean, every detail is thought of and taken care of. We loved the restaurant- both breakfasts and dinners were outstanding. The chef must be very skilled. Our room was excellent. We could observe different animals from our terrace like aguti or lizards. There’s nothing that could have gone better, our stay was amazing in every detail.

One of the workers brought a sloth to show it around, he wanted well and I’m sure his intention was good, however, the animal seemed quite stressed and then he was brought to a different tree to where it was found. Please allow tourists to admire these animals from the distance.

I loved the exceptional service from the staff, especially Francine, Jessica, Agustin, and Sofia, who were incredibly accommodating. The food prepared by Chef Esteban was excellent, with each meal surpassing our expectations. The comfortable, clean, and spacious rooms, along with the immaculate hotel grounds, contributed to a truly enjoyable stay.

The only downside was the lengthy drive from SJO Airport, which can take almost four hours, especially with traffic and the paper wristbands you’re given when you check in.

The cafe con leche was probably one of the best we had during the week we were in Costa Rica. The breakfast overall was pretty good and I loved the salsa picante. The location of the property was perfect. It was within walking distance of the beach, stores, markets, and the hustle and bustle that you love of Puerto Viejo while being nestled in an oasis where you are surrounded by the beautiful, tranquil Costa Rican landscape.

There isn't anything I didn't like per say, but it would be nice to have a full-length mirror in the room (somewhere) but that's not a big deal. Also, just be careful of the bathroom and shower floor because it gets slippery when wet.

Very neat, attention to detail, friendly staff. Good food, good drinks. Good presentation . Beautiful rooms ( bungalow) , private small Swimmingpool. Big showers, decent large room .

Rainy season , put some umbrellas in front of the room! It’s a small investment but huge appreciated by the guests. Huge problem in Costa Rica is power outages. I recommend a power generator since this hotel is not huge and very manageable. It’s very unconfy to sleep without the ac the whole night . Close to a club that was playing super loud music until 4-5 am.

Beautiful hotel and grounds, birds and animal sounds all day which was wonderful. Small and not far to walk to restaurants. Staff were nice, especially the young waiter at breakfast, he was super friendly and helpful.

Could do with tea in the room, large glass water bottle that is refilled everyday would be nice, breakfast was nice but not enough food, small portions that left you hungry. Bar and restaurant expensive. Little touches that you expect from a 5 start hotel would be good.
