Great and hidden "secret" small boutique accommodation nearby Puerto Viejo del Talamanca (20-30 minutes walk) and Playa Negra (5 minutes walk). The hosts were very welcoming and friendly and they gave some good tips and hints e.g. for Cahuita national park visit. The accommodation is in separated houses with one spacious room and huge terrance. Each morning they are serving a coffee at 6:30AM before actual breakfast time (07:30AM). It was to drink coffee in the morning in the terrance and listen the jungle / garden sounds. The place also have nice small garden and big roof terrance to walk / stay.

The huge stunning beautifully maintained garden setting makes this boutique villa with only six suites such a memorable stay. In the gardens we saw a two toed sloth and a three toed sloth with a baby attached as well as a variety of birds including toucans as well as colourful frogs- such a treat. The pool without children was a lovely start to our mornings. Breakfast was delicious with multiple options every morning. The staff throughout the villa were gracious, helpful and friendly. We stayed for two weeks and enjoyed the close proximity to the beach and the jungle walks as well as nearby town and restaurants. Our kind host drove us to a huge supermarket for our supplies as the rooms include a well set up large kitchen. It was easy to catch an uber into town for those who didn’t want the long walk along the beach to get there

Very beautiful Garden, with lots of animals to see, even toucans and sloth can be seen. The villas have a good standard and are equiped attractivly. The staff and owners are friendly and it is a good welcoming atmosphere. Eric had some good recommendations for us (beaches, parks, waterfalls…) Breakfast was also good and varied….We felt good and enjoyed the stay, even if we had kind if bad luck with the weather.

Nothing - maybe the road to the location can be mentioned as the last few 100m are a bit rough with lots of holes, so has to be driven carefully. But even our not 4x4 made it…

Everything! Absolutely loved this place! It was magical and we didn't want to leave. The rooms were stunning, there was also a very well equipped kitchenette that I used to make meals. The breakfast was delicious, fresh juice, fruit and granola, a different homemade baked treat each day and eggs. A personal highlight for us was the homely feel, Eric and Sharon were incredibly helpful and friendly. Their dogs Winston and Betty were adorable and I couldn't wait to see them each morning. They also have 6 cats and two sloths who are often chilling out in the trees! Each morning coffee was left just outside the room, which was such a nice touch. It is located around a 30 minute walk from town but there is a place where you can hire bikes from around the corner and Uber. We did the walk several times and you can walk along the beach which is lovely. Could not recommend this place enough.

Property was beautiful - in a lovely garden set a bit back from the beach and a bit out of town - just a few rooms and excellent amenities. Resident sloth named pearl and great birdlife. Morning coffee delivered at 630 was The. Best. Hosts have thought of everything. Fantastic breakfast, filtered water machine ( don’t drink puerto viejo tap water per the locals), friendly dogs, great hosts, quiet, comfy beds and pillows, even fluff n fold laundry! They recommended a wonderful hike ( saw a sloth moving across the trail just 20 feet overhead!) and then lunch in Cahuita park/ pizzeria Cahuita ( lunch on a dock out into the Caribbean- so lovely and good food!). Also Koki s place was great with topnotch service. Loved the jaguar rescue center and ara manzanillo as well. Would happily come back and stay longer!

Not much - minor quirks: parking for our room was super difficult involving a long backup down a narrow lane, other rooms had some tight turns too. Room balconies face a blank wall (suggest some wall art?) and there is limited privacy between the balconies. Balcony furniture was also uncomfortable - awkward to sit in at my height of 5 4; would improve with cushions (pillows did the trick). Also, no shampoo or soap in the shower.

It's rare to find hosts like Eric and Sharon, with such attention to detail that you feel right at home from the first minute. The 6 villas are located on a beautiful estate just a 10 minute drive or 30 minute walk down the beach to Puerto Viejo Downtown. They are all well equipped with kitchen, refrigerator, air conditioning, even yoga mats and plenty of towels. They also have a nice terrace where you can enjoy the gardens. In the morning, they will bring you coffee to wake you up for a delicious breakfast that will give you enough energy to start your day. If you are comparing process, you'll see they are not the most expensive but also not the most cheap property in Puerto Viejo, but they are totally worth it.

That I had to leave!

Can't recommend this place enough. Sharon, Eric and all of the staff were lovely. This place is a little paradise and has so much wildlife in the grounds. We saw sloths, toucans, various other birds, bats, lizards, frogs etc. The breakfast was delicious, wifi good, shower good. Balcony was perfect to relax. Good parking. Roof terrace and pool for all to use. The location is a short walk from the beach - with a private entrance. Beds were comfy and had everything we needed in the room. We would definitely stay again if we come back to Costa Rica.

Great location between the two national parks in the area (Cahuita to the north and Vida Silvestre to the south, both highly recommended) and within a short walk of a beach that you will almost have to yourself via a private gate. Eric and Sharon are extremely friendly and effective hosts and have a great friendly staff. Breakfast is a highlight of that service, coffee at your doorstep in a thermos at 6:30am and a home cooked meal near the pool when you are ready. The Villas are very comfortable and has a nice mini-kitchen with fridge - you can cook meals if you need a break from restaurants - and very private. Nice private deck outside of room that looks into the garden. We were able to see Toucans and a sloth without moving an inch from our chairs. Away from the beach and other major things so very quiet outside of the animals you came here to hear.

The property and hosts are fabulous. The room was clean, comfy, with everything you need from a range of bath towels, to kitchen utensils, to a perfectly hot shower. The balcony space was great and we were very fortunate to have a sloth in the tree in front of our villa for our two night stay! The hosts were fantastic and made us feel very welcomed. Breakfast was lovely and having hot water for a morning cuppa was a nice touch. The pool is clean and a range of beach towels, sun cream etc. is available. The property is very close to the beach, a small minimart, and bar/restaurants. A short drive out of the villa is a small town with a range of shops, restaurants and bars. Car parking was secure. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend!

The property was lush with flora and fauna. Eric and Sharon created an oasis for the villas that attract beautiful birds and wildlife. Eric gave us a tour, describing the tropical plants and uses, such as the Ginger Shampoo plant. The individual villas are situated for utmost privacy. The open air eating area allowed you to dine in the midst of the beauty with all the conveniences of being served breakfast. Close to two Nacional Parks, Villa Pinas is centrally located. Eric and Sharon are quick to offer suggestions for your destinations and dining enjoyment. They have a private pathway to Playa Negra, making it a short 15 minute walk to the beach.

We have to search hard to find something we didn’t like. However, when we mentioned the difficulties in regulating the hot and cold water for our showers, Eric was quick to respond in fixing the problem. Eric and Sharon work hard to create a stress free vacation for their guests, who quickly become friends.
