Fabulous Location, pool area, rooms and gardens and close to both the canals of the national park and the Tortuguero village. Staff are wonderful and the food is good and new restaurant area a big improvement on the previous one.

Booking for canal tours for families a little bit hit and miss on availability. We wanted an afternoon tour on the day we arrived and a morning tour the next day, and were lucky but others we met were told their chosen tour was full. When I had asked before our arrival to pre book a tour to make sure we had a place, I was told it was not necessary and told to book on arrival.

Set in the wilderness, right when we arrived there was a spider monkey in the trees. Umbrellas were provided to us, bathrooms were clean. Beds were comfortable. The pool area is beautiful and the room is centrally located. Water taxi was on time and the driver was nice. Cocktails and poolside bar was very nice.

Need more shelving/dressers/tables in the room and hooks for jackets, towels etc. The dining area wasn't good. Bright light and no comfort. Was like a big cafeteria. I thought the restaurant by the pool that was promoted online would be open but it wasn't which is very unfortunate. The stairs were roped off so we couldn't even go upstairs and enjoy the balcony/view.

The grounds were beautiful. Nice location away from the huddle and bustle of town. Pool was beautiful and very welcome to refresh after a day in the sun! The best thing about Pachira was the staff - in particular Bismarck - who booked (and sometimes ran) our water taxis and even arranged for our passports to be reunited with us when we foolishly left them in the hotel safe when we left!!

The breakfast was nice but the evening meal left a lot to be desired. I would suggest eating in town instead.

Set in the rainforest of Tortuguero it is in a beautiful and secluded location accessible by ferry boat from the mainland. We got the public ferry from La Pavona and left our car there. The pool area is lovely and there is a short trail where several guided tours visit to walk round each day. The rooms are nice, clean and bug free. Basic provisions, no coffee/tea facilities or fridge which we found useful in other places as we travelled. Reception were really friendly and helpful. Surrounded by animals, Spider monkeys were jumping on our roof, there are lots of birds, iguanas, armadillos and more all in the grounds. Tortuguero isn’t known for its places to eat out and we found eating at the hotel very reasonably priced and convenient.

Food was served in a buffet style but you walk round holding a plate out for portions. It felt a little like Oliver Twist holding a plate out hoping for more. Although you could revisit the buffet as much as you wanted so there was no restriction but it wasn’t the nicest way to be served.

Had all the appearance of a higher rated hotel. Lovely location in the rainforest. Food was pretty good if basic. Reception staff very efficient and helpful.

The bedroom accommodation was not great. 4 of us sharing a room with practically no means of drying anything - just two hooks and small towel rail in bathroom. Given its propensity to heavy rain and high humidity, this means everything is permanently damp. Very dated bathroom which felt grubby. After period of prolonged rain, loos were not working properly. Understandable but still not nice.

Pachira Lodge was the perfect place for our stay in Tortuguero. Though the lodge isn't in the main village, it was easy enough to get a 5 minute taxi boat across (with help from the staff). The food was perfect, with really helpful staff making sure they met our dietary requirements without a fuss. The room itself was perfect, more than comfortable in the warmer weather and was surrounded by wildlife wherever you turned. I would recommend Pachira Lodge to anyone who's visiting the area.

Foods were EXCELLENT! I highly recommend guests not to waste eating breakfast, lunch, or dinner in town. Terrible, waste of money, & expensive. We wasted our time & money eating several restaurants. We then decided to eat only at Pachira lodge all remaining meals.

Location, three lodges we rented all in good shape.

The surroundings and the rooms were so comfortable, clean and very nicely furnished. The food was inexpensive, not really fancy but good food with plenty of choice. Pool / bar area was gorgeous. Loved the wildlife around too.

Amazing place to stay. We loved the nature trail behind the hotel and seeing green turtles coming up the beach and laying their eggs was a magical experience.

I’m not keen on Cantine like dinners and there was no option to get any food or coffee by the pool area.
