Good, clean rooms in an easy-to-reach location, a 5-minute walk from the main train station. Desk staff were helpful and spoke English well. Onsen/Sento was very well-equipped and laid out.

In 2025, it's time to rethink a "no tattoos" policy in a decidedly not-luxury hotel onsen. If you're going to open up to foreign tourists, centuries-old social rules need to become a bit more flexible. Literally no one, Japanese included, cares about this anymore. Also, if you don't book a room with breakfast included, the breakfast is ABSOLUTELY not worth the price - it's a simple Japanese or Continental breakfast (not even a buffet, except salads) for Y3200 - that's an absurd price for what you get.

I really enjoyed my stay at this property. The cleanliness stood out right away, and its convenience was a big plus—it’s located close to the JR train station, which also has a bus station for exploring the rest of Ishikawa. For travelers with early check-ins or late check-outs, they offer lockers to store luggage, which is helpful. As a solo traveler, my favorite part of the facility was the onsen—such a relaxing feature after a day of exploring. The breakfast was also a highlight, with a lovely view of the garden. The rooms are small, but that wasn’t an issue for me since I was traveling light without a large suitcase. Another useful amenity was the coin laundry, making it convenient for longer stays. Overall, it was a great experience!

One of many hotels around the train station in Kanazawa. practical if you arrive by train or join a tour departing from there. The other attractions are a bit far away though, at least 30 min walk. The public bath is nice and big. I liked that it had open windows and a little garden on a terrace outside most of all. Functional tiny room.

The hotel is old and the room smells old. The smell goes away when you switch on the aircon. The staff is professional, but doesn't really speak English. They can say the regular phrases and understand some keywords, but anything more than that requires google translate. The breakfast wasn't special, I recommend going to the Omicho Market and having some amazing fresh fish there instead! I wish there was a shelf or a drawer where I could unpack some of my baggage.

The hotel is very close to the main station but you can't really hear the train so it's nice. The employee are really kind. The elevator is quick and the bed are really confortable. I recommend if you're traveling alone as a girl as it feels very safe. The onsen are also very enjoyable. They have also free locker you can use for your luggage.

The only little detail that made me uncomfortable happened during the checking : when the employee said the number of my room quite loudly and others guest heard it too but besides that everything was great.

I like: - location - it was everything and everywhere clean - small massage device - additional pillow Windows were closed - impossible to breath fresh air after rain, there was a device for cleaning air - but what about oxygen????? Bed was quite small and not comfortable bed textile If you want to visit önsen but you have tattoos on your body - impossible - and I booked this hotel just because of önsen If I would be in Kanazawa one more time - I will prefer another hotel

It's only 5 mins walk from Kanazawa station exit west. The room is clean and comfortable. They have one of the best pillows I have ever had in Japanese hotels. The public bath is also very good, with a small outdoor bath area which is nice.

If your room number is 1-10 (odd numbers). Your room will be very very close to the railways, which is quite disturbing during the night and early morning. The window is not gonna help with the noise. The railway system isn't as busy as Tokyo or Osaka, but if you are a niose-sensitive person, stay away from those rooms. The air-conditioning is not really adjustable. You couldn't adjust the temperature, only S/M/L wind can be adjusted. They still only provide the heat in April. But overall, at this price, I still recommend this hotel, I would come back again!

This was my second stay at Kanazawa Manten Hotel Ekimae. You should definitely choose it for the location, 5 minutes walk from Kanazawa train station, and for the onsen, very big and clean, there is also a sauna and an outdoor bath. Not to mention the breakfast, you can choose between a Japanese or Western breakfast and both are delicious. There are also coin lockers for luggage and a coin laundry, very useful.

The rooms are starting to look a little dated, but I would definitely stay here again if I had the chance.

About 7 minutes from the train station, as well as the main buses to travel in and outside of Kanazawa (e.g the bus to Shirakawa-go). Staff are nice and helpful. The hotel is pretty big and overall everything is nice and clean. Shared bath is great, very spacious and open at very convenient hours, and even at very early/late hours. Bedroom is in a decent size for one person. Bed was comfy. Wi-Fi worked well :) A few coin laundry machines and dryers at the hotel, they provide free detergent for you to use.

A little old, the panel for the air conditioning was ancient and it was hard to control. There was no option to open the window. There was a big space at the entrance to the room, where I feel like they could have put another small closet to put your items. There was only a very small hanging area by the door.

Staff were lovely and helpful. Central location, entrance might be a bit easy to miss so be mindful of that. Nice that the place had three onset options and a sauna. Loved the milk vending machine in the onset

Room was a bit cramped but not a dealbreaker since we didn’t spend much time in the room anyway. Onsen had faint smell of chlorine (don’t know if they add it to the water)- wasn’t a fan of that, my friend’s skin reacted a bit poorly to that.

The public bath / sauna is the star of the show with this hotel. The outdoor bath is comfy and peaceful. The sauna rotates herbal scents between lavender and peppermint. Going to take a bath was my favorite part of the day. The room is slightly large for a business hotel of this type. The toilet/shower unit is pretty average - all the more reason to go down to the bath. The bed was large and comfortable. I used the desk as a work area, and it was find for straightforward business needs. The hotel is a short walk away from the train station, maybe five minutes. This makes it convenient to getting around the city of Kanazawa, as well as the general Hokuriku area.

Nothing stands out that I didn't like - overall a good stay.
