Ours stay at the Focus Hotel Premium Pod Orłem was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the excellent service was apparent, with staff going above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and memorable experience. Kamal the receptionist was polite, professional and supremely knowledgeable about everything in Bydgoszcz and the surrounding area. He helped us to get to the historic and cultural places around the city by tram. His recommendations for food and treats is second to none. What truly sets this hotel apart is its captivating history and style. Housed in a beautifully preserved 19th-century building, every corner exudes a sense of grace and old-world charm. Our balcony was overlooked by a golden eagle! The elegant historic decor, combined with modern comforts, creates a unique ambiance that is both luxurious and welcoming. It's a place where you can feel the echoes of the past while enjoying all the conveniences of the present. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a stay that combines historical elegance with top-notch hospitality. We were provided with slippers and ample fresh fluffy towels and toothbrush and coffee and tea and a kettle in the room and the vanity set, shoe cleaner, clothes brush. All the cold still & sparkling water that you need and a small lockable fridge. There is also a sauna and hot tub for your use. It was such a privilege to say such a beautifully elegant, stylish and historic establishment. There are more modern hotels in the city with my however if history, architectural design & culture is your thing you’ve come to the right place.

You are slap bang in the centre of the historic old town. As such there is a bit of noise from trams and visitors. Nothing a pair of earplugs can’t deal with.

Breakfast a bit pricy for somebody who doesn’t eat much first thing in the morning- should maybe have option like continental only or cooked breakfast only or coffee/pastries only Great location and the place has got character

Stunning building in a great location. Exceeded our expectations. Very clean. Very comfortable. Large rooms with everything we needed for a short stay. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was amazing. Huge choice. Quality ingredients served in a beautiful restaurant. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is in a historic building, full of beautiful features. The main staircase is especially gorgeous. Rooms are not so modern, but spotlessly clean and entirely comfortable. Breakfast is very high quality and all staff members were really helpful and friendly.

No complaints.

The location of the hotel is brilliant. A straight 20 minute walk from the train station and right at the heart of the most pretty parts of the city. Breakfast selection was really good with hot and cold options. They even suggested that you take a prepared sandwich to go which was a nice touch. Staff were very friendly and helped us to pronounce some basic Polish phrases. The hotel is in a beautiful old building, so if you appreciate character and are not looking for a sterile, generic hotel chain, I fully recommend this hotel.

The room was a little warm but a fan was provided. As it is an old building there was no air con in our room but that was not an issue for us.

The room was comfortable. The bed was comfortable. The included breakfast was filling. There was a restaurant for dinner. The hotel wasn’t very far from the centre of Bydgoszcz. The staff were friendly. A toothpaste and toothbrush and a small shaving kit were available in the bathroom. I had a room with a balcony. There was a small gym which I used. There was a sauna available, free for all guests, which I didn’t use. The accommodation was very good value for what was provided during my stay.

I found that the en-suite bathroom was quite warm compared to the rest of the room. The shower head was quite low, and being tall, I had to crouch in order to take a shower.

The location is excellent: just near the town center with many shops and restaurants nearby. The personal is very polite and friendly. The interior is awesome preserving the original art nouveau style of the end of XIXth century (one really feels inside a palace). Moreover, the hotel was linked with some celebrities (e.g. Piłsudski and Rubinstein). The price is very low for a four-star hotel: we paid around 1200 złotych (approx. $300) for 4 nights.

I was unable to lock the door of my initial room and needed to relocate to another one. The lighting of the rooms is quite dim - probably good for the Great Gatsby era but a bit insufficient for nowadays people. One socket did not work. The breakfast is not cheap at all (but there was a plenty of good places to eat nearby).

Location in the town centre, close to best attractions in Bydgoszcz. It is a beautiful hotel in a historic building, only one in its kind.

Beautiful old building with ornate staircase. Large room comfortable room, ours even had a veranda! Lovely choice of breakfast. The waiting staff when we had our evening meals were brilliant. Very attentive. The dry ice bucket with the aromatic vapour was a lovely touch to our desserts! Made us very happy! While we may have had one or two issues with our room, however these were sorted out immediately. So well done to the team!

Two hotels called Focus! On our arrival in Bydgoszcz we went to the wrong hotel with a similar name! We arrived by train, but directions on booking .com didn't show ones for walking to the hotel, only if we'd travelled by car, so I did a separate search and only put 'Focus Hotel' in (without the pod Orlem!), which meant we walked a long way to the wrong hotel. Sadly, the receptionist at the sister hotel gave us poor and inadequate directions as to how to get back, which didn't help - especially as we were both very tired and ended up getting lost again!
