A great adults only hotel. Relaxing, lovely food, amazing room and a real feeling of quality. The individual pools for each room meant that the main pools were quiet and there was no problem getting sun beds. Looking at prices for future visits indicated we got good value for a last minute booking. We might have thought twice if we needed to pay some of the larger figures.

The 2 pool bars needed more staff. The staff were great but one person trying to serve a whole pool was insufficient particularly at the rooftop bar. The hotel was a little out of town which had positives and negatives. The price quoted by the hotel for an airport transfer was twice the cost of the excellent transfer we finally used via booking.com

We will certainly be returning, and cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone seeking an extraordinary escape.

The Royal River in Tenerife is truly a hidden gem. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable — discreet, warm, and incredibly attentive. The entire hotel feels like a private sanctuary, with beautifully designed villas, serene surroundings, and a calming atmosphere throughout. The decor strikes the perfect balance between modern luxury and tropical elegance, making every corner feel special. One of the standout features is the network of private canals — perfect for a peaceful swim right from your villa. The rooftop restaurant offers stunning views, especially at sunset, and the food was consistently excellent. What impressed us most was the thoughtful attention to detail: my wife is allergic to gluten, and once they knew, they never forgot — every meal was handled with care. A perfect escape.

From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the genuine warmth and exceptional professionalism of the entire staff. Every interaction felt personal and sincere, making us feel truly welcome. The culinary experience was outstanding from morning to night — with beautifully presented, flavorful dishes at every meal. A special mention for dinner at Le Top, where the cuisine reached another level entirely: refined, creative, and deeply satisfying. The wine list was thoughtfully curated, offering both well-known labels and hidden gems. The sommelier was knowledgeable, approachable, and offered spot-on recommendations that perfectly complemented each course.

Stunning place to stay! I was disappointed that my friend and I (staying in separate rooms) were put on separate rivers (there are 2 rivers) so we couldn’t swim to each others, despite me requesting we be nearby. They did offer to move us on day 2, after I said I was unhappy, but we had got settled by then, so we didn’t move. Just a bit of a shame they couldn’t have accommodated this initially, especially at the price we were paying. Reception staff were a bit unfriendly at times. The food was also just OK, and the same menu every night/every lunch, was a bit limiting, even over the 3 days we stayed.

Beautiful hotel, very calm and relaxing! Very spacious and comfortable room, which was super quiet. Having your own terrace and pool was the best part and totally worth the cost. Staff were amazing - super friendly and helpful. Great food in the restaurants that was reasonably priced given the quality of the hotel. One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at, not that cheap but perfect for a short break of luxury to unwind and relax. Will definitely come again!

Limited vegetarian options in the restaurants. Our terrace was quite over grown so didn’t get the best sun.

Thinking about our stay at Royal River we realise that the best thing about Royal River is its STAFF. They are amazing, super helpful and very friendly. Our 2 level Villa was massive, comfortable & well designed. My partner (Alex) & I would like to thank ALL THE STAFF - particularly Diego, Yulia & especially Ruyman for all you have planned / done for us in advance & during our stay. The Private Sail Boat experience was amazing & of course you pre-arranged the gorgeous sunset that evening just for us! Special thanks to Alex & Victor for your chauffeur service. In a place where taxi service can be at times difficult one of the high points of Royal River…. - free transport around Adeje. From the restaurant staff, I would like to thank Patricia, Nancy & Manuel for your friendly & warm hospitality. Food superb & wine selection was awesome. Our entire stay from beginning to end was FABULOUS. From the above it is clear Royal River Tenerife - you are VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! 👍🏻

Restaurant food choices could be improved.

No entertainment and particularly expensive restaurant with poor choice of wines under 80 euros

Excellent facilities, even though hotel was full it felt so quiet and serene. Excellent selection of pool areas and the rooms were amazing.

Wider choice of restaurants would have been great- but hotel is a 5 min taxi from La Caleta where there are lots of bars and restaurants. Also felt like water was a bit rationed at the hotel- would have been great to have a water cooler near the pool and more water supplied in the room. You can walk to La Caleta but first part is through semi wasteland surronding the hotel - so not suitable for anyone not comfortable to walk through this. Taxis were plentiful though and reception very helpful to call them
