Everything was amazing and exceeded our expectations, actually rooms are better than in picture even and best part was the whole staff especially Mr Ahmed from the very beginning and till we left he made sure everything went smoothly , helped us with everything and trip planning and helped us with a driver to take us everywhere and this driver was so good and helpful. And even all the other hotel staff helped us with everything whenever we asked for anything. The room is nice too and comfortable, and the view is very pretty actually directly on the Nile river with a terrace and even a very nice sitting area common for the whole hotel which I really loved to sit in anytime , with also restaurant available food was good and very good prices. , and this hotel was directly with Nile river view front row not in the back so very good location.

Nothing , maybe only point would be location and area to reach to but all hotels at nuba I believe might have this problem but with driver or car provided it was easy

Doroka is the best hotel in the Nubian village: beautiful, authentic, quiet and welcoming. The room is great: amazing view on the Nile, nice balcony, good AC, comfortable bed and beautiful decoration. And the staff is the best! Everyone is so kind, welcoming, helpful and positive. The food is also really good! Ahmed, the hotel manager, helped me to navigate Aswan activities and options. He organized private tours for me at a very fair price and gave me some good pieces of advice so that I don't get scammed. He is a very reliable, helpful and friendly manager. I loved my stay at Doroka Nubian house and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to relax in a beautiful environment while visiting the main attractions of Aswan.

During our long trip to Egypt, we stayed in two other hotels (in Cairo and Aswan), and each had some minor issues. So when we arrived at DoroKa, we didn’t expect it to be the best hotel of our trip—but it exceeded our expectations! More than that, it’s a very good hotel, even compared to non-Egyptian ones. We booked the hotel’s transfer service in both directions, and each time, it was perfect. The staff met us with the welcome drinks (very tasty!!) and escorted us to our room without hesitation. The room was spacious, beautiful, and very colorful. We even had a small balcony with a stunning view of the Nile. The hotel is located near a bustling street with local souvenir merchants, but this didn’t affect our comfort at all. There’s even an ATM right next to the reception entrance! The shower was excellent, and the water boiler provided nice hot water. They even added a floor squeegee to the bathroom inventory! The bed was also very comfortable. Due to our early excursions, we couldn’t enjoy the standard breakfast, but the DoroKa staff kindly and carefully prepared breakfast boxes for us every morning—even before our 3 AM transfer to the airport. Every request we made was addressed almost immediately and with great respect. DoroKa also has a restaurant on-site, and it is absolutely fantastic! The food is fresh and delicious. As for the local souvenir merchants, they might seem intimidating at first, especially if you’ve arrived from Cairo or Luxor, but they’re actually different. Their shops are worth visiting, and they won’t pressure you to buy anything. It’s a safe place with friendly people, so don’t be afraid. Many of them simply greeted us with a “Hi” without even trying to invite us into their shops—they just wanted to welcome us!

It is a very nice place directly on the Nile and close to the Nubian market. Staff were super friendly, cooperative, and always there to meet our needs. They go the extra mile to serve us at all times with a high speed. Ahmed was kind enough to upgrade our room to triple deluxe room, which has a very nice balcony facing the Nile. The room space is just a bit tight for three persons, but for two persons, it would be great. The food is authentic, nubian, and lovely, and they have a good variety of dishes. The place offers tours to all famous sights and the boat trips in the Nile are charming. And the boatman was super nice. Special thanks to Ahmed Gameel, reservation manager, Mr. Sherif who is responsible for the food and restaurant and all his team and Rafik, the boatman.

The place is super beautiful, even more than in the pictures. It may seem a bit far from Aswan city but it’s totally worth it, and you can arrange with them a shuttle from the airport so it’s easier to get there. It's a beautiful place and people was extremely nice with us from the moment we arrived, they greeted us with welcome drinks and the best vibes. Ahmed arranged every tour and transportation for us and even gave us breakfast to go for the tours. We had a wonderful experience, we went with my mom that is in a wheelchair and they helped us with everything, They even surprised us with a cake for my mom’s birthday, the best experience that we will never forget. We just wish we had stayed longer!

Nothing, it was all perfect

We had the most amazing experience here. After an unfortunate mishap (scam) from a bus company in Aswan, we arrived tired, sneezy, and grumpy. Quite literally, as soon as we got here our mood turned around. The staff is friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The guest house itself is clean with the most beautiful view and lots of shade. We actually ended up eating breakfast, lunch and dinner here during our stay because the food was just that good. This place redeemed the end of our Egypt adventure. A special thanks goes out to Mr Awat, the manager for his hospitality and kindness. We cannot recommend Doroka Guesthouse enough.

We got a welcome drink upon entering the hotel. The room smelled so good and was very clean. You could feel the attention of the hotel from many small aspects. The large windows in the room open to the first row of river views, and there is also a personal balcony where you can sit and enjoy the Nile River on your own pace. The hotel is in a great location. They have friendly staff, comfortable air conditioning, and beautiful public spaces. It is ideal for a relaxing vacation that lasts for a few days. Sadly, our trip was too short so we are not able to stay longer. The food in their restaurant is delicious and at a good price, and the fish is fresh caught from the Nile River that morning. The hotel assisted me in finding someone who could braid my hair, the local lady did it exceptionally well, making the braiding hair unique and beautiful. It was a very interesting experience to braid the entire hair. After I came back to Taiwan, many people asked me where I got my hair braided like this. On my subsequent trip to other parts of Egypt, many Nubians came to say hello to me because of my hair, which is so fun. I will definitely come to this hotel for a vacation if I visit Egypt again. The memories of the Nubian Village are unforgettable. All in all, the hotel is worth to stay.

We recently had a brief six-hour stay at a unique accommodation, and I must say, the experience was surprisingly delightful. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was evident. The host was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to ensure that our needs were met. One of the standout features of this stay was the convenience they offered. They arranged for transportation to pick us up from the airport, providing either a car or a tuk-tuk, which added a fun local touch to our journey. Given that our flight arrived super late, we were especially grateful that the host also packed us a lovely breakfast for the next morning as our tour started at 4am. It was such a thoughtful gesture that truly made the early morning feel much more comfortable. The room itself was tidy and well-maintained, providing a clean and cozy atmosphere for a short rest. The shower setup was interesting, needed an extra towel as almost slipped over as there’s no barrier and the water goes everywhere. And the shower head couldn’t stay up, so not ideal to wash your hair. Overall, this accommodation has a cool setting, and the combination of thoughtful service, a clean room, and unique amenities made for a memorable experience, even if it was brief. Highly recommend it for anyone passing through!

My family and I had an amazing time at Doroka Nubian House. I would give it a million stars if I could and would recommend the stay to anyone for their time in Aswan. Just a small drive away from the Aswan rail station and market lays Doroka Nubian House with Nubian style brick housing. It’s in a very quiet part of town with an almost private view of the Nile. The local market also sells basic necessities and trinkets which made our stay memorable. Even if it’s not your first time in Aswan, I would highly recommend a stay at Doroka Nubian House. Shukran!

Wonderful place that is full of character. Pictures don’t do it justice. Rooms were clean. Staff were amazing, - they organised us a performance of local music, and generally looked after our every need. Food was fantastic and we also enjoyed relaxing by the Nile. Ahmed the manager was so helpful and helped organise day trips. Enjoyed 2 days of boat trips with Mustapha who was a great guide. The location is right next to a big craft market and I think I saw more camels than cars on the road outside.
