I was looking for a place to stay in cairo. Somewhere central, not to expensive and with good reviews. This was it! The lift to the 7th floor was owsome!!! From the 19th century and works perfectly. The staff very proffesional and helps you with EVERYTHING i needed. Open 24/7 Great wifi The room was a wonderful surprise. So modern, comfortable and clean. The shower had good water pressure and was very well done. The bed was very comfortable and there where a lot of places to charge everything i needed. It was quiet and lovely!! I will come back!!

Champollion hostel is a quality address in Cairo. To begin with, the place is friendly. We feel good there. I spent 7 days there in complete safety, very well surrounded and helped. The rooms, clean and of good size, correspond well to the photos. A small cozy lounge completes the hotel. The location is ideal, 5 minutes walk from the Egyptian Museum, and 3 minutes walk from a very lively shopping street where you can find everything. Finally, the most important thing for me is the team that makes up the staff. all are excellent and super helpful. I always got the help I wanted. The welcome was great from the first minute. So a big thank you to all: radwa, and his partner - (Sorry I forgot your name) as well as pipo, islam, il Mohammed...) I recommend the hotel without reservation, because for my part, it was great!!
Rien à signaler de particulier.

The Hostel is very centrally located, in a lively area and close to the Egyptian Museum. It is also clean, But the most important asset of the Hostel are the people running it. They made me feel very welcome in every way they could. They were always very polite and helpful with anything I needed (e.g. ordering food for me, offering me advice or information about the surroundings), and always with a sincere smile. It felt like a second home for me. I would definitely come back if I am in Cairo again in the future.
Cairo is quite noisy everywhere, and one has to get used to it. So if one has difficulty sleeping, earplugs would be advised, as the noise from the street could be heard in the room. However, my room was facing a side street, so it was more or less acceptable, at least for Cairo standards.

I had a wonderful experience staying at this hostel in Cairo. The place was very clean and well-maintained, which made me feel comfortable from the moment I arrived. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful — they always greeted me with a smile and were happy to answer any questions I had about the city or travel tips. One of the highlights of my stay was the breakfast. It was fresh, tasty, and a perfect way to start the day before heading out to explore Cairo. The atmosphere at the hostel was also relaxed and welcoming, making it easy to meet other travelers. Overall, I highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Cairo. It’s a great place to stay if you’re looking for comfort, cleanliness, and warm hospitality.

All staff were very nice and internationalized. The location is very good, the police's black patrol wagons are stopping in front of the building for 24 hours, though. We could walk to Egyptian Museum, Abu Tarek, famous Koshary restaurant and El Abd, famous sweet shop. Amazing location. When the air conditioner in the room stopped working, the staff immediately fixed it. The room was very clean.
I thought there was a few small problems in the room. The curtains in the shower room were attached to the inside of the room rather than the appropriate position, I guess, and every time we used them, the outside of the shower room was soaked. When we turned on the ventilation fan after using, because the top of shower room was open into the room, we got air from outdoors that smelled terrible. The building is not insulated, so when we returned to the room in the evening after going out during the day, it was very hot. But they were not serious problem for us.

Really nice, modern, very clean, and comfortable small hotel, right in the centre, 5 minutes walk from the Egyptian Museum. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and interesting to talk to. Nice breakfast included.
It's a bit difficult to find, especially if you are tired and confused. It needs a sign sticking out into the street. It's round the corner from Champollion Road, opposite the Memphis Bazaar. Also, the room doors are very noisy and would benefit from some soundproofing/insulating tape around the frames to stop them slamming loudly. Tea-making equipment in the room would be nice, although the reception will make you tea/coffee any time. Also, no towels were provided.

It was my first time using a hostel and I am SO GLAD I chose the perfect one. Great location, walkable to everything in Cairo and the room itself was large, bathroom great, very cool and if I was there for breakfast they had a great spread. I didn't have to use the air conditioning so I don't know about it. And the wifi was great it did it's job. The staff were super helpful with any questions and when I would leave super early they would walk out and make sure my ride was there. There was a step down in the bedroom to the bathroom, I always had to make sure I didn't miss the step lol. room was clean, place was always clean and again great location. So many hotels had mixed reviews but the hostel had consistent so glad I chose this over a hotel and I never thought I would say that as a person who has only gone to hotels. It gave the perfect mix of feeling like you were in midst of everything living there and privacy like a hotel.
I don't have anything I didn't like honestly. If you're not use to water heaters, just make sure you turn your water heater on to warm up before you need to shower, and unplug when you're gone all day. I didn't use the air conditioning because I didn't need to. So again no complaints.

I thoroughly enjoyed my two-night stay at the Champollion Hostel in Cairo. The staff were outstandingly friendly and always willing to assist, making the atmosphere very welcoming. The location is excellent, ideally situated for exploring the city. The room was equipped with air conditioning, which was indispensable given Cairo's high temperatures. The breakfast was basic but perfectly adequate for starting the day.
I would suggest a couple of minor additions to enhance guest comfort: providing a kettle in each room would be very convenient for making hot drinks, and slightly longer shower curtains would prevent water from splashing onto the bathroom floor.

Staff are really friendly and helpful. The hostel feels cozy, and the location is exceptional close to everything. Cairo is very old city so it was really comfortable to be in a renovated place. When we were there, the weather was hot, but the good thing is that AC was working perfectly. We took three rooms types, the triple room was the best. The staff make you feel part of the hostel family, they showed us new extension that they are still working on it and will open soon. ( I do recommend trying it)
Toilets are without ceiling, which will affect your privacy, and toilets are super small, whenever you take a shower, the whole toilets will become wet.

Absolutely wonderful place. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Nice twin room with ensuite and excellent Aircon. 2 communal areas with kitchens - free tea coffee and bottled water. The breakfast was also very good. Great location right in the middle of downtown. For the price I can't believe how they do it.
Honestly - for the price we paid I have nothing negative to say about this place.
