Great staff, Good food at bar, Clean and well appointed rooms

We had a hire car and booked this hotel for a number of reasons including the availability of a car parking spot - but our hire car did not fit under the low clearance in the off site parking complex that the hotel uses. This was a significant and costly inconvenience and think this key height restriction information should be readily available in booking info and when contacting the hotel directly about car spots.

Location is good as I considered it the central Waikiki. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Our suite albeit an upgrade was facing the multi-storey carpark... which we had to close our curtain the entire stay for privacy issue. It will be great that the hotel can provide a laundromat for the guests. More resort activities (e.g. yoga / meditation classes) be provided, as we had previously stayed in Sheraton Waikiki Beach which had jointly organized activities with a few other hotels in the area.

My god this place is QUAINT. It’s so quiet compared to the mega resorts. The vibes and atmosphere are unmatched. Hotel staff is extremely helpful and accommodating. I was worried about the barking at a dog friendly hotel but the one time our neighbor’s dog barked for a while, we called the desk and they immediately took care of it. I’ll never stay anywhere else in Honolulu.

Honestly I don’t have one bad thing to say about it.

Location was great, close to some nice restaurants and bars but off the main street which is very busy and loud. The vibe of the hotel is very nice and laid back, with great spaces to relax. Free coffee was a plus!

The room was pretty small, with no desk or space for a computer. Also, our balcony looked over into what was essentially a trash pile. Not the hotel's fault, but still not great.

location of the surfjack is excellent .. about an 8 min walk from the beach .. the vibe is relaxed and fun .. room was very spacious .. we checked in about 2 hours early and it was no problem .. room had everything we needed for a short stay .. comfy bed .. very clean ... decent bathroom ... bar fridge .. the hotel offers discounted parking in a lot about 4 mins walk .. very convenient and good value for money .. the hotel pool in its central courtyard was popular with plenty of day beds avail and the onsite cafe, bar and food offerings were great .. front desk staff and others were very freindly and helpful .. nothing was too much trouble for them ... this property had everything including excellent cust service at a great price and can recommend a stay here

- Location: great location. We've stayed at another hotel across from Waikiki beach, but that location wasn't as good as Surfer's for us because all the restaurants, cafes and shops are actually closer to Surfer's. - View: nothing beats the view of that pool... - Service: we got a room upgrade and ended up staying in a 2-bedroom suite, super spacious! Make all other rooms we've stayed at in Hawaii seemed small 😂

That we couldn't stay longer cause it was booked out.

Facility was charming with terrific onsite coffee cafe & pool & bar. Staff was super friendly & really helpful. Location was super central and yet also quiet at night - we had a great sleep on great beds & linens. The shower was really fabulous - great pressure, toiletries, very relaxing after such a long flight. The evening live music was terrific! Thanks everyone!

Sad we only booked one night here!

Great hotel with a relaxed vibe and very friendly and attentive staff. Short walk to the main street and beach. Room was very comfortable, clean and quiet. Nice on-site bar and restaurant. Great stay and would return.

LEAVING

Located right in the heart of Waikiki, this hotel is a more affordable option compared with hotels closer to the beach, and is better in just about every other respect: cool vibe, hip furnishings, young friendly staff, excellent restaurant and bar, a good cafe next door serving decent flat whites, nice design (retro motel feel around a central swimming pool but with sweet music, and even market stalls one evening). Stay back from the over-commercialised beach strip and you get a better deal and more atmosphere.

It can be a struggle to secure one of the tables at the bar/restaurant if you haven't booked, which felt a little disappointing as a paying guest. Maybe try and squeeze a few more tables around the pool?!

Great location, central to everything, within easy walking distance to beach etc..

Sand was at end of bed on first day and was still there when we left 7 days later. Bed was made up kind of funny. The sheets really didn't fit.
