Great location in a central part of Paris, close to the things I wanted to do. The staff were awesome — friendly and informative. The room was well appointed and very clean. The most important thing to share is that my room was very quiet! The hotel is on a quiet street, and the windows are quite soundproof, so overnight I heard very little in the way of traffic, motorcycles or police sirens that are omnipresent in Paris.

The shower doors slide together and are supposed to join at a rubber/silicone seal along a 90° edge. The seal was hard to make, so the shower leaked onto the floor.

I liked the bed, although my husband found the mattress a bit too firm for his liking. The room was clean and had the standard amenities. The shower was great with very good water pressure. Good room size overall considering how very small everything is in Paris given the older historic buildings. We also enjoyed the balcony area which was lovely. The location of the hotel is excellent and we walked to the main atraction points. The receptionist was very friendly and curteous. On our last day the receptionist offered to store our luggage at the hotel so that we could enjoy the last hours in Paris prior to our departure. We could have also used the toilet facilities if we needed. We certainly appreciated the gesture.

The breakfast was quite limited and was the same every morning, but it was good quality, fresh and overall enjoyable. Unfortunately the person from staff who was supposed to clear the breakfast tables after hotel guests was not tackling this task with any sense of urgency, thus every time we went for breakfast there were 1-2 tables available to sit at and the rest were uncleared even though there were no other hotel guests around.

It's not the first time I get a room in Hotel Volney Opera, I appreciate the location, the simplicity of the place, not being a huge hotel. The room are a little bit small when you take the basic ones, but usually I'm just there in transit. It's one of the best compromise in my humble opinion when it comes to the cost vs value. Unless they are full or that i have to stay more than 2 days in Paris. I'd not choose any other hotel

It's not that I didn't like but I really miss a restaurant service in this hotel, being able to have food in your room would add another value to the hotel itself. Of course you can still order by the other means... But I'd wish of a room service.

The hotel is situated in city center very close to metro stations, Roissybus airport shuttle station, Opéra Garnier, Louvre museum - just walk distance. My room was small but well renovated, and there are a lot of sockets - that's important when in room stay a couple and need to plug and charge different devices - smartphones, tablets. There is a kettle in the room. Good lights in the room - not dark! The hotel staff is friendly, I arrived before check-in time and was allowed to entry. Breakfast has various options, hot and cold.

Location was the reason behind choosing Hotel Volney Opéra - located around the corner from Place Vendome, next to Opera Garnier (and CDG airport Roissy Bus), very close walk to Tuileries Gardens, Louvre, Palais Royal, perfect metro connections to any parts of the city - could not wish for a better starting point for enjoying Paris. The staff of the hotel was very kind and attentive. Room upgrade to top floor room (51) with a spacious balcony was unexpected surprise and made the stay extra enjoyable. Lovely decorated room featured very comfortable bed and exceptionally good pillows, making sleeping experience a delight. Highly recommend Hotel Volney Opéra, and will happily book here again when next time in Paris.

Friendly staff. Appreciated the daily housekeeping and coffee top up. Great location. Near train/bus station. Daily paper in the reception area.

Room was on the smaller side. Can be cramped if you have large luggage. Not much shelf space in the bathroom. Had to be creative in where you put your stuff. Bathtub/shower was tricky to get in and out. Perhaps the French are accustomed to it, but for Western tourists be careful when stepping in and out.

The location was brilliant- very central, but not noisy. The staff were fantastic and very helpful, especially as my French is not great. A big thank you for the upgrade to a balcony suite for our wedding anniversary. It made all the difference and we were able to eat our croissants outside in the mornings. And we were kindly allowed a late check out due to an evening flight. Can’t fault anything, and we will be back again.

Room was clean and smelt really good, even had a little balcony looking over the street. It is on the small side, but it was perfect for just one person or a couple looking to spend most of their time out exploring the city. The location is excellent - very close to Auber and Opera metro stations and walkable to everything in the centre. The staff were very friendly and efficient - reception is manned 24 hours and the front door is locked overnight (someone has to let you in, which is nice for security). There's also a little convenience shop literally around the corner which is open really late - perfect for snacks!

The hallway leading to my room was a little dark and I couldn't find the light. Walls are a bit thin (had noisy neighbours one night) and the bed was not very comfortable (quite hard and could feel the springs), but these are not deal breakers. It is otherwise a very good hotel.

The hotel is in a great location at a low price (for Paris). The staff are helpful and very friendly. I would say the hotel is very basic and the decor dated, but it is clean, safe and comfortable. It is a 3 star place, you would not go there for a luxury holiday, but if you need to be in Paris and don't want to pay a small fortune then it is a solid choice.
