We loved our stay here. It is a beautiful location. All around nature and is situated just beside the road. The bus stop is beside the hotel with just a few steps. We reached late at night with the last bus from Rovaniemi city. The owner kept the room key outside of the reception door and easy to check in. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. When we reached there, the whole place was covered with snow ❄️ that was so mesmerising for us. Morning views are so beautiful with snow everywhere. The cabins are warm and comfortable. It has a restaurant and they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner until 7 pm. We did our breakfast and dinner for our whole stay here. If you are lucky you can see northern lights here, just you need your eyes up. The restaurant has a common bathroom, kitchen and showers. It’s open 24/7. There is a hiking trail nearby. You need to ask it at the reception. We did it and the trail was covered with snow and snowing in between our hiking too. We were able to meet and talk with local people when we were returning from our hiking. It was nice to know a little more about the locals. You can roam around nearby places if you have a car else there are limited and less frequent public buses to Ivalo town and Saariselka. FYI- we travelled by public bus from Rovaniemi city to here.

Oh, Ivalo River Camping! What can I say about this place? It was an incredible place to stay, and I can’t believe I witnessed the breathtaking northern lights there. It was a magical moment, and the view was simply stunning, right above the property. I had no regrets at all. The amenities were top-notch, and I loved the proximity of the bathrooms to the rooms. They were spotlessly clean, to the point where you couldn’t find a single trace of dirt or a corner that wasn’t gleaming. I am so grateful for the exceptional staff at this establishment. They were incredibly professional and made my experience one of the best I’ve ever had. They are always ready to assist me with taxi services or even help me book activities at a safari that they have access to. As a side note, make sure to always have a lot of taxi numbers handy, just in case. Also, keep in mind that taxis don’t operate after 12 p.m., so ensure that you complete all your tasks before that time. I highly recommend visiting the diner and trying their reindeer kebab and cheeseburger.

There’s nothing to dislike about this property. However, some people might have an issue with the bathroom being outside. For me, it was a non-issue.

The property is easily to locate. If you are using bus to go around, this is the perfect place for it as the bus stop is literally in front of the camp. The staff was super duper nice, they also help us about the buses schedule and let us have late check out since our bus was late. The best part is we got to see aurora just as we opened the door from our room. So if you are wondering if you can see the auroras from this camp, yes you can! (if you lucky of course). You can also catch the bus to Saariselka ski resort from here. Also the frozen lake is very beautiful. Wish we stayed there longer.

We didn’t know that the bed sheets were not included but you can just rent it from them. The toilets were not that far but if you had to go at the middle of the night.. it is kinda scary for me.

I had a wonderful experience at this property! The river-facing location is absolutely stunning, offering breathtaking views that make the stay truly special. The staff were amazing—very responsive and always ready to assist with a smile. While the restaurant has limited options, that wasn’t a concern for us since we were there to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Plus, the Dallas bun was amazing!

Even though there are multiple shower rooms and washrooms, they might be a bit far from your room, so you’ll have to walk every time you need to use them. Additionally, no shower gel or hair wash is provided—you’ll have to buy your own, so be mindful of that. Another thing to consider is that there’s no direct transport from the airport. You’ll either need to rent a car or take a taxi, which costs around 30 euros. These factors might not be a dealbreaker for everyone, but it’s good to know before booking.

The location is beautiful. It’s a bit outside of town and very quiet. The area around is great for walks. We were there in March, so everything was covered in snow. We also loved the little sauna, and the staff was very helpful with booking activities and even arranging a taxi to the airport. We would definitely come back!

It is bit harder to reach it without a car but the bus from Rovaniemi stops right there and it’s also easy to book a taxi to go to the airport.

The staff was really friendly, attentive & helpful, everything was clean and the hut was better equipped than expected. Everything was well communicated and worked smoothly. The food in the restaurant/bar was also nice.

The showers were only luke warm in the afternoon (I guess after other guests had showered for too long), which was a little too cold after a long day outside.

We have had some problem with the door that has a different system to close with the padlock. To maintain the possibility of closing and opening, we put the key in the padlock so we could enter and open. This happened to us because when we went to the bathroom we had to open it with a glove and it was complicated for us. However, everything was great, how well it was organized and how clean we found everything.

The location was wonderful - it felt like I was secluded and out in nature, but in reality I was a short bike ride away from everything I needed (you can borrow bicycles from the reception when there isn't snow, and snowmobiles when there is). Alternatively, I could have walked everywhere but it would have taken a bit longer (although people do this, and I was able to walk to the airport at the end of my stay). The property is easily accessible by bus. It has its own special stop on the route from Rovaniemi to Ivalo. The staff were wonderful - friendly, helpful, warm. As a solo traveler staying in a hut in the middle of somewhat remote northern Finland, I felt very safe and secure. The accommodations provide you everything you need - a warm, comfortable place to sleep, hot showers, kitchen if needed, WiFi. You can purchase food at reception or go into town. You can drink the tap water. There is hiking, walking, nature scenes to be had in the immediate vicinity. Simply walking or biking alongside the river is such a treat. You are able to see the northern lights outside your cabin when the sky is clear and dark, no need to chase them in a car. I originally wanted to stay in a glass igloo, but they are so expensive. Here, I could look out my window and see how the sky looked, and then take a few steps outside if I wanted to see better, and that provided me with some beautiful scenes. When it's quiet, you can hear huskies barking in the distance, but it's not too loud that you are kept awake. Overall, the ambience is lovely and exactly what I came here for. Not being told of sledges available to transport luggages to the cabin or to reception. If you don't bring your own cuttlery/mug/plates you have to buy them. I had my own. it would be helpful to have it mentioned in the descriptions.
