This is my ‘go-to’ place to stay when I’m in Saint John. The hot breakfast is really nicely done and it’s such a pleasure to sit in an actual dining room at ‘real’ tables and chairs, and to use ‘real’ cutlery. The rooms are very spacious and the beds are comfortable. The fridge and microwave are a nice addition to the room - always nice to have if you’re staying a few days. I love having two chairs in the room, and lighting that makes it possible to read a book. This hotel delivers on both counts. However, the hotel’s location is not in the downtown and, if you want to explore that area, you need a car - or be able to walk fairly long distances. If you want to explore the city without driving, this is not the place to stay.

It’s great that the rooms have espresso machines - but not everyone drinks espresso. I don’t drink coffee at all, but making tea is essentially impossible in the room because, even if I had a cup large enough in which to make tea, that cup won’t fit in the espresso machine - it’s designed to accommodate espresso cups only. Yes, I know I can go to the lobby and make tea there, but I don’t want to have to get dressed so I can to go to the lobby to make tea to take back to my room - I’d like to be able to make tea in my room.

The hotel looks like a castle, and the rooms are spacious with comfy beds. The location is great — really close to the reverse waterfall, which we went to see first thing in the morning. The beach is nearby too, though we didn’t have time to visit it. Breakfast was tasty, and the service was excellent.

About the bedding here — wrapping a blanket or duvet inside a sheet isn’t very friendly, especially for kids. If they toss and turn at night, they might end up touching the blanket or duvet directly, which isn’t always clean. But this is a common practice around here, not just this hotel.

The staff were superb - friendly, offering help and making suggestions for fun things to do. Breakfast was a step above most included breakfasts, and Trudy was a great server. The free laundry service was a surprise and MUCH appreciated. overall, a lovely place to stay in St. John NB

only suggestion we made to the staff was to have the garage doors not close so quickly after being opened. Tough for shorter women to touch the control box, and then get through the door before it started to close. Otherwise - garage was a very convenient place to leave the car.

Loved the beds, the bath collection and the breakfast was hearty and delicious! Loved the location and the rooms were super clean and well arranged. Any staff we encountered were super friendly and efficient. Trudy from the breakfast bar deserves an award for customer service! She made our stay. Front desk staff was informative and super helpful.

Had some issues with room charge being charged on incorrect credit card. Had a hold and the upgrade charge on one card and full charge off of the incorrect card, even though upon check out went to the desk to ensure it would be correct and was still charged incorrectly.

Hotel was excellent in both quality and service. All the staff we came into contact with during our stay were both efficient and helpful. Their friendly attitude made for a delightful stay. Beds were very comfortable and room was quiet, and the Nespresso coffee maker was a bonus. Breakfast was very good and served by Trudy at the counter to your exact request making it very hygienic and probably less wasteful. Her personality made for a wonderful experience. Best place we've stayed in, ever!

There’s indoor parking underneath the hotel that had plenty of spaces for the size of the hotel. The front desk staff helped me track down a fan in the middle of the night so that I could cool down without freezing the family member that was travelling with me. They were really nice about it, especially with it being mid-February. The beds were comfortable and had multiple types of pillows. Breakfast tasted good and had a lot of options. The tub in the bathroom was big like in the photos. Water pressure for the shower was great.

This is a nice place to stay. The location is convenient. The beds are very comfortable. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent as well. A super friendly lady served up generous helpings of eggs, potatoes, pancakes, beans, bacon, and sausage. The breakfast also included yogurt, fruit, and several bread options. We look forward to staying here again.

Food was above average and staff, one woman in particular, was outstanding.

hate the way you smoosh your pillows into squares! Really dumb and and hard to get back into a rectangle -- a long enough surface on which to lay one's head and roll over! Also, property is very hard to get to/hard to understand how to drive off the highway/bridge and correctly pull into the parking lot.

The hotel is very clean and well located. The room we had was very spacious. The bathroom was large as well. The front desk staff were very friendly and informative when it came to things to do in the area. The breakfast was ok. The hotel could use a facelift even though it's very well maintained. The property is well taken care of.

Had trouble using the ac. our room was freezing

This hotel is wonderful. Totally clean and my room on the 7th floor was excellent.

Their Front reception staff needs to learn how to do their job properly. I did the check in online ahead of time. I get there after a 10 hour drive and pick up my room key card. When I get to my room the key card doesn't work. The Front reception staff had not activated it. I think you can understand my frustration.
