Convenient to Union Station. Quick check in and staff were very helpful. Rooms were spacious. Going through refurbishment but noise was minimal. Had an old room with dated furniture but all was clean. Bed very comfortable and lots of hot water in shower. No kettle in room but hot and chilled water including ice available outside of lifts on each floor. Would stay again.

Would've liked a kettle and some cups in the room to make a cup of tea.

The hotel is very well located for acces to Union Station. The room was large, clean, well lit, and the bed comfortable. All facilities were available. The reception was very helpful allowing me to check in early and on departure leave my bags for collection later. Having stayed there previously I was familiar with the hotel and it has maintained its standard. Chinese restaurants close by.

The hotel is good as a travellers hotel, however its location near to Union station makes it situated in a less desirable part of town. However there are no safety concerns and the staff are helpful.

Newly renovated part of hotel is very clean and modern. Unrenovated part of Hotel is a little tired and old. staff are helpful and location is great for Union Station, Chinatown and Down town. Yes there are homeless around but that’s just Down Town L.A. Hotel is safe and 24 hour security guard.

Can’t complain considering location and price.

The price and location to the train station is why I picked Metro. It has the potential to be better once their construction phase is over. Room we stayed in had recently been upgraded.

No amenities at all, but perhaps that's why the price is much more affordable. Though they did have coffee available at the reception desk. Could use a microwave and more outlets in the room. Water pressure was poor, especially noticed while using the shower

The proximity to union station. The staff were very helpful and allowed us to check in at 11am at no extra charge! Unheard of!!! Great for an overnight stay if travelling by train. Room was newly renovated !

At first sight it seems a little run down but actually this place is good value. Friendly , diverse and genuine staff recruited from the local area,, clean spacious rooms , location only a short walk from Union Station, good quiet air conditioning in the room AND surprisingly quiet at night - all good honest to God value and yes, we would stay there again .And guess what, we didn't find the dreaded Downtown L.A. to be anything like as bad as the hype says it is. Oh and the no. 4 bus from under the nearby bridge takes you almost all the way to Hollywood Boulevard for about $2.

It's not luxurious but it has all the basics and we slept well there so I'm not going to knock it. They need encouragement not criticism.

Walking distance to Union Station train station in Los Angeles. Even though it is an older hotel - it was very clean, staff was wonderful, and we felt safe and comfortable. Also walking distance to Chinatown. They appear to be starting a remodel but it didn’t impact us…

Walking there from train station at 10:00 at night we saw quite a few homeless but that has nothing to do with our experience at the hotel. Maybe take a cab or Uber if that makes you uncomfortable.

This hotel is excellent for users of Public Transport. Close to Union Station with its links to the Metro and bus network. Spacious room and comfortable bed.

Does not offer breakfast

We didn't know how to turn on the air conditioning: the maintenance man was excellent. He also opened the safe which the last tenant had left locked. The people at the front desk were efficient and helpful, also the people in the parking garage under the hotel. The location is great, a few yards from Olvera Street, Philippe's restaurant and Chinatown. It's also great to have on-site parking with in and out privileges.

The building is starting to look a little run down: carpets worn, and furniture scratched. We have been staying at this hotel once a year for at least 25 years, and always enjoyed it, but they need to fix up a few things.
