The real name is Hotel de l Europe. Not "grand hôtel". Never the less it's very simple and clean and the hôtel have a 1900 unique beautiful elevator. The charm is the smile at the welcome desk. Obviously VERY helpful with every traveller.i also liked the vicinity.of the teain station gare d l est

Don't expect a great service if you only pay 100 euro a night . But the welcone smile of the night shift staff changed it al and the rooms have everything needed (except aircon.but thar is rather the norm in Northetn part and center of France)

For me, it was just a place to put my head down after meeting with a friend/colleague. Staff was friendly. Room was basic, but clean. Good location, too.

The room had a bit of a dated appearance, and there was no body wash in the shower. It was also characteristically Parisian, in that there was a window facing the wall of another building. Resultantly, the room was quite dark during the day. The other thing I'll mention was that my towel smelled a bit strange, though it was clean so I don't care. The only actionable thing I will mention is that they could supply the WiFi code upon check in. Then again, I was too lazy to go back and ask for it, so that's not their fault. I will emphasise, NONE of this badly impacted the quality of my stay. After all, what do you expect at this price...? The room served the purpose I booked it for and I am happy with my experience!

The hotel is in a great location, almost directly in front of Gare de I'est station. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bathroom was a bit small in my particular room, but the water was nice and hot. The place was clean. My only issue was with the elevator; it was way too small. This hotel is not suited for people with mobility issues. A bonus is that just outside the hotel is a bus stop. Catch #32 and it will take you straight to the Trocadero, which gives you great views of the Eifel Tower and is only a couple minutes walk to the tower itself. I highly recommend this hotel for a short stay of 2 or 3 nights.

They should advertise the place as not being suitable for people with mobility issues, because of the elevator.

The entire property was squeaky, sparkling clean. Room was tiny, but it's an older, mid-block Paris hotel - They're all tiny rooms. It was one block from Gare du l'Est which worked perfectly for our one night stay after arriving from Germany and flying out the next morning. It's not elegant, but is recently nicely remodeled and most importantly Super Clean! Typical small hotel elevator is quaint and works perfectly. Reasonable price for a Paris room better than expected.

Nothing worth mentioning.

Close to Gare de L'Est. Metro gate is front of hotel easy access. Many delicious French restaurants. Also the Fastfood Gank: Burger kings McD KFC. Good value price for this summer

Very tiny small room and the alley each floor very close each other but its like this condition. Take it or Leave it

The hotel is in a great location, just over the road from the Gare du Est station. I had to stay in Paris because of the train disruptions around the Olympics, I was exhausted and was grateful to find this hotel. At first glance the room looked tired and mismatched however the elements that I needed from the room were outstanding. The shower, the beautiful white fluffy towels, the crisp bed linen and extremely comfortable bed, the long windows with a great view of the street, all combined to give me a restful stay. I have read some negative comments about the lift but it is such a quaint, gorgeous little thing doing extremely well for its age. Take time to appreciate its beauty. Also, the staff were very friendly.

There were a couple of things either not working or missing like the TV remote but did I miss them? No. It was much more interesting watching Parisian life on the street below.

The room was quite spacious and had a great view from the sixth floor. Facilities were basic but good for a budget hotel and it had everything one needed. Staff were helpful and welcoming. Location very convenient.

The shower leaked a little when it was used. It would have been helpful if the hotel could supply an ironing board on request (they provided an iron but not the board).

Cute old fashioned lift. Quiet room over a busy street - good double glazing, Reasonable bathroom with large shower. More shelving would be useful. Good old fashioned French breakfast with individual jugs of coffee/tea/chocolate/milk. - no push-button coffee/tea/chocolate machine.

More clean towels - I had to ask for them. No instructions about leaving dirty towels in shower or on floor to show they needed changing.

It is old and difficult to make comfortable.

It is an old property but in a very good location. View from window to backyard is a negative thing. Service is good and friendly. Nearby can find many restaurants and shops. Real old Paris. But facilities need upgrade to be worth of money. Hotel is ok,.booking was a bit misleading.

1. Loved my window’s view. Was a perfect Parisienne view with the Tour Eiffel on the right. 2. The room wasn’t big but it was enough and it didn’t feel too small for us. 3. Also very clean. Nothing bad to say about the cleaning and the cleaning ladies were very friendly. 4. The receptionists were also very friendly. Nothing bad to say. 5. The location was very good too with everything on hand. With metro, train, mini markets and super markets, lots of cafés, restaurants, also pharmacy, McDonalds and Burger King. Very good 6. Price was good with good conditions.
