Clean, very calm and welcoming ambiance. Lobby, hallways, and dinning area was very nicely decorated. The hotel paid attention to little details with their choice of decor. Staff was very attentive and helpful. The location was amazing, if we had stayed in Ofuna-Kamakura longer it would’ve been a perfect place to pop in for a quick nap during the day. Bed was firm but comfortable. My family is from the US so we’re used to softer beds. I asked for firm pillows since the room was stocked with very soft pillows. The firm pillows with firm bed helped with the sleeping posture. Room was very nice, small for western standards, but excellently sized for standards in Japan.

The location, the breakfast, the room all exceeds my expectations. I recommend anyone who wants to visit Kamakura to stay here, even if it's not technically IN Kamakura town.

If I truly had to nitpick, I wish the allowed guests to use the tables and chairs at the breakfast buffet area past 9pm, because while the room is very comfortable to sleep in, the space is a bit cramped for people to do work or eat their outside purchased food. Another nitpick is that the dryer function of the washer/dryer machines in the coin laundry isn't very good at actually drying clothes. Took me more than an hour for my clothes to truly dry out.

The room is clean, cozy and very quiet. Size is quite sufficient. A very convenient small table. Everything works perfectly. Set of toiletries is a great. Clean towels are left on the door handle in a canvas bag, which is very eco-friendly. I also really liked the design of the hotel and the very beautiful photos on the walls. My compliments to the photographer. It would be great to know his/her name. And I liked the stylish sign outside the hotel. Maybe you can miss it in the dark, but, from my point of view, it fits harmoniously into the landscape around the hotel. I noticed that in November the hotel celebrated its fifth anniversary, for which I would like to congratulate the team. The hotel is very conveniently located, and it is very easy to get to Kamakura. The breakfast is incredibly delicious, varied and balanced. Kama-age (shirasu) with rice is very tasty! The kitchen team is very friendly and positive. I would especially like to highlight the work of the hotel team. I felt the hospitality and care even before my arrival, during the correspondence: messages in Japanese were duplicated in English. Also, the messages always contained very detailed information and instructions. I was worried that my Japanese was not good enough yet and I had just started learning the sonkeigo topic. I am grateful to the front desk staff for their calm, patience and professionalism. I would especially like to thank the front desk employee named Tsuboi for his help. 坪井さん、気長と手伝ってくださってありがとうございました。(sorry, I hope kanji in name are correct) Since childhood, I dreamed of visiting Japan and chose Kamakura to celebrate my birthday, so this travel was special for me. The time spent in Kamakura will forever stay in my heart, including thanks to the work of the hotel team. There are still many places I want to visit in Kamakura, incl. the Kamakura Performing Arts Center. So I plan to visit Kamakura again and will definitely stay at this hotel.

Everything was perfect.

Great location. Quiet and ambience. Rooms are great (we did change our room due to the room has a cigarette smell upon our first arrival). The hotel provides free rental of facial steamer, charging port, hair iron, curl driver, and desk light. Great value indeed.

We arrived late (it took 90minutes+ from Narita Airport to Kamakura) and all the car park are occupied. So we have to park our car at Sotetsu Fresa Inn Kamakura Ofuna, which is 250m walking distance from this hotel with overnight parking fee is 1300 Yen if I remembered correctly.

The hotel is located in a very convenient location; short walk to the Ofuna train station, shops and restaurants. Since this is the last leg of our travel, we initially chose this hotel for convenience and also for its good reviews. We think this hotel offers great value for money. We were there for 3 nights, in a twin room with breakfast. In addition to basic amenities in the room, there were extras foc. including skin care products (face mask, sachet of cleanser, bath salts, moisturises etc.) There's also a self service area for heating up takeaways and drinks venting machines available on the 2nd floor. The hotel staff was very friendly, polite and exceptionally helpful. On the day we arrived, I encountered some issues with booking.com showing I have double booked (although I cancelled) with another hotel in Tokyo. Ms Takahashi, one of the front desk receptionists, went above and beyond to help me sort out my problem. She rang the other hotel in Tokyo and solved my problem very expediently. I was so relieved! Thank you, Ms Takahashi! We were able to store our luggages before check-in and post check-out. So that was really helpful.

As it is to be expected, the room size is small, but it's understandable for Japan. While we don't mind a small room, our struggle was not having enough space to fully open up our suit cases. It's probably a good idea to travel with smaller suitcases if possible, to countries like Japan and Singapore.

Excellent location just a very short walk from the JR station, with easy connections to the area's tourist attractions. Surrounded by very many local eateries and shops, including a nice little teashop. Good hotel breakfast and large common room. We very much enjoyed staying in Ofuna (a very pleasant and friendly "real town") compared to nearby Kamakura (an expensive and crowded tourist place). Also much better value and therefore a highly recommended location.

Our room was small (as is typical for Japan), with limited space for suitcases, and no window view.

Excellent location close to shops and eateries. Close to Ofuna station which close links to Tokyo, Yokohama ...excellent as Narita Express is there too.

It would be good if staff could explain especially to elderly travellers the available amenities, what it is available or can take free like tea bags and coffee near the lobby to drink at their room as they were not aware of it. I have booked this hotel for my parents in their late 70's. But overall they have enjoyed their stay.

The location is excellent near the train station with mall and many food options. Close to food precinct. Rooms are spacious considering general small sizes of rooms in Japan. Ofuna is a good alternative to Kamakura! Make sure you book the right Sotetsu hotel as the other sister hotel nearby is smaller! The room carpets were a bit dusty and quilt covers tattered but not a deal breaker considering the value for money. We booked 2 rooms adjacent for a family of 3. Staff are incredibly accommodating and helpful. They do their best to translate and assist.

Breakfast is a bit ordinary but not terrible. If you’re expecting the ‘usual’ western breakfast you are used to you won’t necessarily get it but it’s still relatively good.

Location is the best, it is the perfect place to stay for, since it is a hub. and can travel by bus, train to a lot of location that we need to go. The breakfast is the best. Also, they provide even face mask for customers to pick up in the lobby.

I think if they can provide some parking spots for some customer like us would be better. It is perfect if they can at least provide one to two spots.

Excellent location, just a few minutes’ walk from Ofuna station, and really handy for eating out - there are lots of restaurants, cafes etc on the doorstep. If you’re planning to visit Kamakura or Enoshima, this would make an excellent base. The room was bright and very clean, and the beds (twin room) a generous size and very comfortable. The bathroom was great - clean and a little larger than expected. Super shower. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good, with a reasonable range of food items on offer.

Strange furniture in the room - two nice chairs, but the tiniest table imaginable, and instead of a desk there was an odd cabinet over the fridge, with a stepped top surface and vent for the fridge, so it was difficult to put much on top of it. The room had seemed large, but this strange furnishing arrangement meant there was nowhere to put anything much, so it ended up feeling a bit cramped. There was also nowhere much to put anything by the beds, just a very narrow ledge over them, just wide enough for a mobile.
