This place is perfectly located for a traveler: 5 minutes from the train station, right in the center of town, close to some very good restaurants, within walking distance of the major tourist attraction. The hotel is new and stylishly designed. The room is spacious. The breakfast was quite extensive, but with limited western breakfast choices. It was c a great choice.

Absolutely nothing. Well, maybe, the breakfast could have a few more western choices.

It was 10 out of 10 perfect. We had an upgrade as soon as we checked in and our superior room was the best one that we’ve had in Japan.The room was really big and it was a well designed room with a separate toilet, separate sink and a wet room which also has a bath. It was a very modern designed hotel. The staff were excellent and just couldn’t do enough for us. We also arrived early and the staff looked after our cases for a few hours, then we went for a walk to see the Great Buddha in the morning and the hotel staff looked after our cases for a few hours. It was also about a 5 minute walk from the station. We would 100% recommend staying here.

The location was perfect, just a few minutes walk from the station. Checking in was quick and easy, and the overall look and feel of the hotel was excellent. The room was a really good size and offered everything I needed, with comfort. The breakfast was in the cafe downstairs, and was excellent quality and varied. Getting to the main train station or to the Enoden Electric Railway next door to it, was just a few minutes away so ideal for getting around. I easily managed to get to Cape Inamuragasaki for views of the sun setting behind Mt Fuji, and to Enoshima, and really wished I'd had more than one night in the area to be able to see more.

There was nothing I didn't like

The staff were great. Everyone we spoke with could speak English and they were very helpful. The room was very clean and well-appointed. We appreciated the complimentary water and coffee. The shower room is large and the shower itself was great. The entrance and lobby are very tranquil with welcoming decor and aroma. Having a coffee machine available for use in the lobby in the morning was a nice touch. The hotel was very quiet - as was our room - and the bedding was very comfortable.

Everything was great really. However, the room seemed a little tight/small even though it is apparently 20 meters squared.

The staff ! Very helpful and friendly, they speak very good English. The room is huge comparing with the other hotels we stayed, amazing bathtub and japanese shower, with lots of complementaries (bath salts, sponge, etc). Great a/c, they gave you a tea set with kettle and everything to relax after a tiring day! Location is great if practicality in front of the station, next to a combini and in front of a supermarket.

Was more than we pay in most of the hotels we stayed but I understand they gave you and amazing service and great rooms. Definitely not a hotel if you travel on a budget but worth it if you wanna treat yourself !

This was our second 2 night stay and we will be back! The front desk staff were wonderful - so helpful and professional. The housekeeping staff were also great - always accommodating and cheerful with a warm greeting. The bed was comfortable. The room was very clean and well-appointed. The shower room was spacious and bathroom had a large counter for all our toiletries. The lobby was tastefully decorated and serene. Delicious coffee was available in the morning in the lobby.

It would be great if there were more vegan options available for breakfast.

The Metropolitan, a member of a Japanese chain, consists of the 2d through 5th floors of a long building very centrally located in Kamakura. The building is simply but beautifully decorated, with light-colored wood and elegant detail. The rooms are small and contain a bed, two chairs, a small table, and a narrow built-in, but the furniture and room decor are beautiful, with dimmable recessed lighting, a small glass-front refrigerator, and a number of accessories (tea and coffee, and even a teapot, are provided). The bathroom is surprisingly large, with a deep and almost full-size bathtub. There is a large lobby with an almost Scandinavian feel, comfortable seating, and free coffee. The hotel employees were all nice, and spoke some English.

The rooms are a too small for a lengthy stay.

An unforgettable first visit to Kamakura, with the hotel perfectly situated in the heart of the district, overlooking the pedestrian walkway leading to the iconic Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. The rooms were clean, spacious, and modern, with a charming TV-sofa corner offering views of the lively walkway below. The location is ideal for exploring Kamakura, and we wished we could have stayed longer. The hotel’s free rickshaw experience tour was a highlight, adding to the charm of the district. Absolutely loved it and will definitely return!

We stayed for two nights and it was absolutely fabulous. Being right across from the main train station was so convenient, the location was great. The room was incredible! The view was amazing, with windows from floor to ceiling. The corner room was truely worth it, and we most certainly recommend paying that bit extra. Because Kamakura is quite sleepy in the evening, it was lovely to sit at the window with snacks and tea. IMPORTANT- we booked the corner room that does NOT have a view of the Tori Gate and honestly think it might have been better because the Gate is not well lit. However, the regular corner room actually has a view over the main crossing which was much busier and fun to watch during the evening. However, personal preference of course. The bathroom was immaculate, and toiletries were high quality and always restocked. The amount of toiletries provided was great, and things I have not seen it other hotels (hot eye mask, cooling foot patches, skin care set). We also enjoyed the motorised blinds! The staff were friendly and holding our bags was no issue at all. Smooth check in and out. The whole hotel was very clean, minimalistic and modern.

This was one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at. Very clean. Lots of cool items in the toiletries tray like steamy eye masks and salon pads for your legs. The staff were super helpful and communicative. They set up the sofa bed for my child, and I appreciated it so much. I booked three rooms for our family, and everyone loved their rooms. Walkable from Kamakura Station. Komachi Street is right outside the door. The path leading to the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine starts right outside of the hotel. I used a luggage delivery service to send my luggage to this hotel, and everything arrived without any issues.

It took a while for us to find the front entrance to the hotel, which is to the left side when you are coming from the train station; the entrance faces the FamilyMart. I wish the coffee machine was available all the time and not only during select hours of the day. I also used the washer/dryer in the hotel, and it did not fully dry my clothes even after adding an additional 30 minutes. If you pay 500 yen, you can use the washer/dryer for 2 hours. However, you can pay 300 for the wash and 100 yen for the dryer separately. So maybe it is more cost effective to do the cycles separately. The smell in the hotel entrance area near the elevator was intense for us, too aromatic.
