This hotel is such a gem! The view, gardens, onsite onsen, and breakfast buffet are all fabulous. My kids are still talking about the breakfast buffet. Just be aware that this is not a new, flashy decor hotel. It felt a bit like stepping back into a very quiet time, which we loved about it. My kids also really loved staying in a Japanese family suite (on tatami mats), but realize that might not be the case for every family if you are used to Western style hotels.

Mount Fuji view. Good onsen facilities, there is indoor, outdoor onsen and sauna.

The glass in the observation deck is super blurry due to no heater being switched on. A bit wasted as we went to the level 6 at 6am to wait for sunrise but views are not clear due to the water vapor on the glass. The idea of renting bicycles to ride around the lake to watch mount fuji is not advisable as it shall take 4 to 5 hours to complete the whole route. Was told by the front deck, it shall take one hour to complete the router. We didn't even managed to ride to the opposite side of the lake. We ended up almost have to ride more than 1 hour back to hotel in the super dark and cold weather, which is scary and helpless. At last, we seek for a solution to end the story. I will suggest you just the redline bus at Kawaguchiko station. Bus journey around 30 minutes.

Situated in a forested area right next to the shore of lake Kawaguchi, the hotel features very spacious rooms with great views of the surrounding nature. Top floor has an observation area featuring direct unobstructed views of Mt.Fuji, weather permitting. Great breakfast in the morning, while the hotel's restaurant offered excellent dinner options in the evening - I particularly liked the Japanese style menus made up of nine dishes. Shuttle bus every hour to Kawaguchiko station, making it easy to catch the bus to Subaru 5th station where the climb up Fuji begins. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and overall very professional.

Rented a bike from the hotel (front desk was kind to do it before official hours), cycled round Kawaguchiko Lake (just a stone throw away) in -3 Deg C weather (17km+ with some terrain). Front desk even pointed out where to take good pictures of Mount Fuji. Friendly english speaking staff. Rooms are huge, easily sleeps 3 or 4. Garden view rooms can only be appreciated in the morning, Fuji view rooms cost more. Nothing much to do after dark except for Onsen. Day view around the Lake are awesome. Free breakfast is good with Mount Fuji view. Nice observatory at 6th level. Stayed only 1 night, wish that i had extended another 1 or 2 days.

Nights are boring here, made worse by the 4.30pm sunset, pretty dark in this area. Stay if you like Onsen.

Very quiet, peaceful, tranquil accommodation in a forest setting next to the lake with great views of Mount Fuji. Observation rooms on the top floor with great views of the mountain, lake and forested hills. It is a distance from the town which bustles with tourist activity during the day. There is a free shuttle to take you in to join the activities, tours, gondola, or to catch a train or coach. There are traditional Japanese rooms with foutons and Western style rooms with beds.

Meals were pricey, but those were took were really good. (And there are many options in town.)

The Japanese-style room was amazing—spacious and beautifully designed. We were particularly impressed that the cleaning service included changing all the sheets. The hotel even has a self-serve wine dispenser, which was a nice touch. We received yukatas, and the onsen was absolutely fabulous. The views are breathtaking when Mt. Fuji isn’t hidden by clouds. The hotel also offers a convenient shuttle service in the late afternoon and has bike rentals available at a very affordable price. Overall, an amazing hotel with excellent service.

There is nothing that we did not like.

Fuji View Hotel is a huge hotel with breathtaking views of the lake and Mt. Fuji. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see Mt. Fuji from the hotel as we were out on a tour when we finally caught a glimpse, if you will be staying in a Fuji View room would definitely be an incredible experience. It was fully booked during our visit so we chose a twin room with lake view. The hotel is surrounded by cherry blossom trees, which weren’t blooming yet during our stay, but I can only imagine how beautiful it would be in full bloom. The hotel’s ambience is wonderful, especially the downstairs area overlooking the garden—it’s so peaceful and relaxing. Breakfast was great, offering a wide variety of Western and Japanese options. The staff were all very kind and helpful. Our twin room with a lake view was spacious and absolutely stunning. Waking up to foggy mountains and the serene lake every morning was a breathtaking experience. Because the hotel is large, it is a bit farther from restaurants and convenience stores. There is one about a 5–10 minute walk away, but we usually took a taxi to the center, where supermarkets and restaurants are, which costs around 1,600 yen one way. The staff were happy to call a taxi for us whenever needed. The hotel also offers a shuttle bus from Kawaguchiko Station, which was very convenient. Just be sure to arrive at the pickup location on time, as the shuttle arrives on schedule and leaves almost immediately. Overall, our stay was amazing, and I would highly recommend this hotel for a peaceful and scenic getaway! PS~ They also have a viewing deck at level 6 where you can see unobstructed views of Mt Fuji if you’re lucky ;)

Location is a bit secluded but given the beautiful spot of the hotel it is understandable. You can walk around the hotel and enjoy the amazing view and surroundings

Large property situated in beautiful gardens and close to lake kawaguchiko with a breathtaking view of Mount Fuji.. We booked a Fuji view room at the front of the property and it was a highlight of our holiday watching sunrise and sunset from our balcony. The room was large and clean. The free shuttle bus from the station made getting to the hotel really easy and the staff were wonderful and attentive. While we did not have time to use the onsen we did have dinner and breakfast at the hotel as part of the half board package (which we selects due to limited food options in the immediate area). Both were excellent as was the local wine we tried.

Everything really. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, taking our bags from our car upon arrival and made sure to make us feel at home.

That there weren’t larger Yukata that I could fit into.

Being able to see Fuji was important while booking and we did have a great view when the mist cleared. The staff were exceptional. Helpful and polite. The doorman and bus driver were very amazing. The stamp was amazing… collecting them on holiday then was a bonus when you had one in the lobby. The robot in the breakfast area was amazing!

Only thing which was a shame was when we asked for dinner they were fully booked, but to be fair it was our fault as we didn’t reserve and asked about dinner only a few hours before service. So minor issue really.
