Nice hotel - excellent breakfast and dinner- good onsen

A little far from town, only a couple of restaurants within walking distance

The room was beautiful and cozy, with an great view of the lake. Breakfast and dinner was very good. The public and private onsen were both excellent!

The beds/futons were a bit too thin for our heavy western frames, but there were extras you could pile on, making the beds decent. The food was excellent, but after a couple of days it started feeling same-y. I would advice having dinner there once or twice, but not more. The vending machines had only Suntory beer, which is decent, but lacks variation. Some local of microbrew options would have been nice.

Food was great. We paid for a private bath on the balcony and view on Mount Fuji and both were amazing. The room was clean and the tatami was beautiful. The public baths were great as well.

Just a minor detail: our bathroom door wouldn't... Unlock?? So we had to wait for the staff to repair our door and then we got too scared of closing the door and getting stuck, so we ended up never closing it for the remainder of our stay 😂

The staff was superb, they tried to assist the guests in whatever way they could. The rooms were spacious and kept very tidy by the cleaning staff. The hotel itself is a bit outdated but it was well-kept. A shuttle to the bus/train station was provided for the guests. You may also call the hotel if you wish to be picked up from the same station. The bus station and a beautiful park are just in front of the hotel. We enjoyed the breakfast that they served. Lake Kawaguchi is just across the building and they have a deck that provides a great view of Mt. Fuji, perfect for taking photos.

The hotel is quite far from most cafes and restaurants (about a 10 to 15-minute walk), a taxi or a bus ride is needed if you stay during winter.

We stayed at Lakeland Hotel Mizunosato for two nights in late January and had a wonderful experience. The views of the lake were absolutely stunning, and the location was perfect—close to town yet peacefully removed from the hustle and bustle. The hotel was very clean, and the rooms were spacious, though there wasn’t much space to store suitcases off the tatami mats. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. The onsen was fantastic, with multiple pools at different temperatures to choose from. The food was excellent, with a beautiful outlook over the lake, and the shuttle bus to and from the station was a great convenience. Highly recommended!

The only downside was that the futon beds were quite thin, making them less comfortable than we had hoped.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel. The staff were extremely warm and welcoming, going above and beyond to make me feel at home. I lost my cap during my stay, and they did everything they could to find it. Once it was found, they even offered to send it back to me by mail — such a thoughtful gesture! The room was very spacious, spotless, and featured traditional tatami flooring, which added a special touch to the experience. Everything was perfectly clean and well-maintained. I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again!

All staff members were very helpful, courteous and attentive to our needs. The free shuttle service to and from the station was great and always on time. The presentation and flavor of the dinner and breakfast we had were superb! Rooms were very clean and neat. We loved the futon beds. They were very comfortable. We were fortunate to have had a perfect view of Mt Fuji everyday. The outdoor hot tub made our day! It was an excellent way to start & end your day!

Needed more racks to hang our towels.

Great location with both a Lake and Fuji view - made for beautiful breakfast scenery and we sat in awe looking at Mt Fuji from our room. I know a few older reviews mentioned the facilities are older (which they are) but I thought they added to the charm and appreciated the Kotatsu and heated toilet. The staff also made sure everything was ready for us at checking including tea that was already made and the bath already filled. The walkthrough was also extreme helpful! Finally, they now serve coffee at breakfast which means they have read the reviews! We didn’t get to see Mt Fuji the first day but the room was well worth it for the following day

Lovely Japanese style room, private open bath was fantastic with a beautiful view of Mt Fuji. Lovely roof top terrace with a great view of Fuji. Room had traditional tea ceremony set, fridge and toiletries that you need. We went half board and the Kaiseki dinner and breakfast were both fantastic experiences, an enormous amount of traditional food at each served by the sweetest lady. You also get traditional clothing to wear to dinner which was great. Lovely and quiet location. Handy transfer to the station.

The hotel was very quiet, no real communal areas or bar so not a lot to do after dinner, you just go back to your room.
