The staff was very friendly and yes, the hotel is very old, but it gives an interesting vibe for the ones that look for it. There was everything you need in the room or in the lobby, there was a washing room as well (for clothes). Onsen area was nice too, keep in mind it is men and women separate. We had a huge room with tatami area, a closet and a view to the lake. The other side of the hotel is supposed to have a view to fuji, but it was cloudy so uou couldnt see it anyway :) hotel has a shuttle service at certain hours, so be sure to ask and reserve.
There were not so many places to hang wet things (it was raining) and the saunas for men and women were not working.

- The staffs were incredibly helpful and very kind! always looking all smiley all the time towards us guests - The room OMG incredibly spacious with tatami area inside. MY CHILDREN LOVES IT! --> not many hotel having this kind of size with still affordable price like Shiki no Yado tho! - Super clean! - It's easy to take a red line bus, since the stop only in front of the hotel - I arrived around 1.45pm and the hotel let us do early check-in and gave us the key right away! - There are shuttle bus from and to the hotel from kawaguchiko station - The onsen soooooo comfy!! - The park located in front of the hotel just really beautiful - Only walking distance to convenience store
Interior of the hotel in overall seems outdated, but it's still tolerable but still the most important part is : VERY CLEAN

The location was excellent! We were right across the road from Lake Kawaguchiko and there was a bus stop right out the front. The view was amazing too - We had incredible views of Mount Fuji from our room! The staff were all lovely and very helpful. The free shuttle to and from Kawaguchiko Station was so helpful - it saved us so much money getting to and from the station. The room was huge, with twin beds and a tatami area that could have been used for up to four futons! There was so much space, it was great.
There wasn't much we didn't like. Perhaps one or two more washing machines, and maybe separate dryers as they didn't dry the clothes almost at all, larger items felt more wet than when they went in. We weren't able to watch TV from bed (though we couldn't really watch it anyway because it was just local TV but that's not a down point) as it was located in the lounge area and couldn't be moved to be viewed from the beds. The bathroom was a little odd, stepping up to get to the sink, then down into the toilet, and down into the shower room - but that's just a preference.

Old hotel, room space just nice choose with tatami bed. Free shuttle provided from Kawaguchiko station to the hotel with time provided. Arrived an hour earlier so we have to wait and then only called the hotel to pick us up. Would be better if the shuttle service is available at any time. 1 pillow provided for each bed and asked for extra pillows. Good surrounding, next to Kawaguchiko Herb Hall , mosque (can get halal food here) and La cremia ice cream shop. Bicycle rental is available here. Staffs are helpful and friendly

The location of the hotel is on an early develop side of the lake, therefor the hotel is considering old but it still fully functional. The building is facing east toward the lake and Mt.Fuji is behind the hotel. Futon (Japanese style bedding) is good and clean. There were no breakfast included but you can buy a breakfast set for 500 yen, and it's not available everyday. They're also rules and regulation to follow, just like every hotel in Japan. The nearest Lawson is 7 minutes walk from the hotel. The best thing I like the most is the local wine cellar at the hotel lobby. You can taste the local wines of choices for a reasonable price.
It will be super good if the hotel will add a little service like leave luggage storage and luggage delivery to the Kawaguchigo train station. Guests check-out is 10:00 AM. The first express train to Shibuya is at 14:00. It would be really help to the guests if the hotel let the guests leave their luggage at the hotel and deliver them to the station around 13:00-13:30. We had a very hard time finding the coin locker that suite our luggages at the station.

We stayed in a room with a stunning view of Mount Fuji, and the sight from the bed at night was simply amazing! The room also had a lake view option, but we chose the Mount Fuji view, which was the highlight of our stay. The female staff member was incredibly kind and helpful. The shuttle bus service in the morning made our travel so convenient. Right in front of the hotel, there was a boat you could take on Lake Kawaguchi, and just beyond the bridge, the view from the park was also fantastic. The room was spacious, clean, and equipped with all the necessary amenities. The bathroom was very comfortable, though we didn’t use the shower as there was a large public bath on the first floor. The public bath was great, and bike rentals were available as well. It seems breakfast wasn’t provided, but there are many restaurants around the area offering various types of food. The nearest convenience store is about a 15-minute walk away. Overall, an absolutely amazing stay—5 stars!

The hotel was clean and comfortable albeit a bit dated. Its location across from the lake and close to the railway station was excellent and the shuttle service provided a real bonus. And the view - when Mt Fuji wasn't covered in cloud the view of the mountain from our bedroom was magnificent. You just couldn't stop looking at it. We also loved the traditional Tatami area featured in our room.
The hotel was very dated. The single beds in our room for a couple wasn't ideal with the bedding, while comfortable, something out of the 60's. It was great to have a public Onsen on site - but I couldn't open the sliding door to it which was off putting. The breakfast was tasty but there was only one choice.

We have a room facing fuji, it is on the left side of the hotel and the view is brilliant in the morning. Staff are excellent, very nice to our questions and very responsive. We arrived at the train station but couldn't make a phone call so we texted them in the apps, and they are so responsive and pick us up at the station. (there is a phone machine right outside the gate for 10yen and station staff are also very helpful). Ozen facilities and hotel itself are old but clean and you can tell it is a traditional hotel. I am enjoying the historical vibe personally. Location is excellent, the hotel is located on the sightseeing bus route and it's only 10 mins by bus to cable car station and sightseeing boat pier. I recommend people who stay in this hotel to buy a day pass for the bus because only going to the Oishi park is 540 yen for one way. It is a good value of money.
sauna room would be good to have but it did not affect how enjoyable the ozen and hotel is.

We found this hotel to be in a great location with lovely staff and facilities. The building is dated but that had its own charm that made the stay a special experience. The onsen was great after a snowy day and there is a foot onsen in front of the property as well. The room was very spacious with a tatami area and had an amazing view to wake up to on our first morning. They also have local wines on display for sale with small fee for tasting as well as free parking on site.
There are small improvements that could be made for a better experience. The shower room had musty odour. The futons were a bit thin, where the pillows had some stains on them and no pillow cases. Due to this I slept on the bed instead which was fine.
