Everything else is perfect. We can see mt.Fuji from our windows the moment we woke up and it was magical! The house is located near bus stop, lots of restaurants and in a walking distance of kawaguchiko station and the lake. The owner lady was lovely and kind despite not being able to communicate in English. Will definitely come back again!

Facilities can be a bit old and you have to share bathroom with other guests which can be a bit stressful.

My room got mount fuji view at 2nd floor. Just open the window. 1st floor i can see toilet and public bath, 1 for man, and 1 for woman. The owner is an old granny and helped by 1 staff, a man around 40 years old. Although they cant speak and understand english, they will google translate to communicate with you. The place just 17 minute if you walk from kawaguchiko station. The environment in the house is so nice, it is like an old house you watch in japan old movie. Room is clean. Futon is the best. Full star for this hostel.

Wake up to beautiful views of Fuji San. 24 hour onsen (needs a deep clean but it’s hot enough so hopefully that kills off everything). We stayed in the traditional Japanese style room and enjoyed our time there. The lady running the place is very nice, doesn’t speak English but is helpful and you can eventually communicate what you need. Free ride to Kawaguchiko station at 8.30am and 9.30am. Or between those hours - not sure which it is. Super close to food and supermarkets. There’s a Family Mart close by. Bus stop is also close by to get to the station. It’s a local bus and will cost about ¥180 (as of 2024).

Could do with a deep clean but it’s still acceptable. The walls are thin so you have to get lucky with the other people staying there. If they’re loud and you’re a light sleeper you might have some trouble.

It has a great location, bear to restaurants and stores. The room was big and spacious, clean and tidy, with a tea set included. We caught a glimpse of Mt Fuji when the clouds thinned, which was stunning. The host was excellent, so friendly and helpful. Plus, the onsen was a total delight.

There was nothing I didn’t like about the stay.

This is a hidden gem for me, because the price is just below averange compared the others ryokan. The owner can’t speak english but she managed to explain everything with the body gesture :’D. She was pretty nice and warm to all guests. The room was quite good enough to work and sleep (you can put the table away and open the futton for sleep). There is also onsen on the 1st floor for women and men, it was a good experience to have open bath like that. I also want to mentioned the internet here is high speed, best for you to work if you planning to work from home. There is nice robot-cat(?) cafe near the road that open so early as well. Definitely will be back if I went to kawaguchigo again next time.

None. The ryokan might quite old building yet clean, but if you want to experience like grandma’s home in japan, you can try to stay here.

Very accessible. I love the view of Mt Fuji upon opening the window. This is not a luxurious inn, in fact i saw only 2 people/staff/owner I guess but its a very homey vibe. I feel like i got the chance to live a local life there. Value for money, peaceful stay....we will definitely come back.

it is not really like perfectly clean in some parts of the accommodation, but understandable. I hope they can have bigger mirror like body size. And since they have wifi, it will be almost perfect if they have android TV. local life but still have access to chill, watch netflix and youtube

This place is just lovely. Very traditional architecture, with tatami floors, sliding doors, paper windows and futon bed. Many movies and TV series used this setting to film and you can see why!! Moreover there is an onsen for bathing, and the owner is super friendly and very helpful. I felt as if I was visiting a friend and their grandma wanted to make sure I was welcome! A 15 minute was from the bus station that has many tourist routes and connection to bigger cities. Close to a restaurant with American and Japanese breakfast food, where the waiter is a robot!! This was my favorite stay during my trip for sure!

I think it's worth mentioning for the sake of others that this isn't a hotel in the sense that you will have your private bathroom, or room service and the like. That to me was one of the best parts, but I know a lot of people prefer these comforts.

We ended up booking another night, we loved the place so much! The hosts are so lovely and there is helpful information posted. It is very traditional with a great onsen and absolutely amazing view of Mt Fuji 🏔️🩵❄️

Beds could be thicker but still comfortable, and worth it for the traditional futon vibes.

That is such an experience. I like the stay and the neighborhood. There are restaurants in walking distance and convenient stores. It is also a good walk to the bridge where you can see the Fuji mountain, and it is near the bus stop. - Stay: 9/10 - the view is spectacular, we can view the mountain by the window. The temperature was 11-20 degree celcius so it was cold to me. The blankets are well provided, but there is no heat system, just layer them up. + There is a small public bath - Owner and staff: 10/10 - they are very friendly though no english. I use all my Japanese for tourist and body language to communicate with them. There is train station transport from Mrs owner in her cute car. My family was so thankful because we brought quite lots of luggages.

Public bath house. Lol i was shy. I wish there is a private bath booth option for shy people like me.

The onsen tops everything, it was so good! And it is open 24 hours, unlike in hotels where use is limited. Our tatami room on the ground floor had fabulous views of Mt Fuji, and I reckon a nice garden if it had not been winter. We had to assemble our futon beddings for the night, and there was no instruction, but these days everything can be googled. We were provided yukatas and some Japanese snacks as well. Tap water is drinkable. A convenience store is just across the street, and a supermarket is a short walk away. There is a free shuttle back to Kawaguchiko Station at 830am and 930am, which was convenient. Looking back I think I'd like to stay again at this ryokan just to chill and relax.

Nothing. It was just inconvenient that the owner could not speak English fluently, but we got on along pretty well anyway. The entire place is old, but the superb onsen more than makes up for it.
