I stayed for 2 weeks in the single Japanese-style room, CRAZY value for money in Tokyo! The room was perfect for one person, it is equipped with a fridge, lots of shelving space (you can store your luggage), a little table, and a small mirror as well. The window does open (love that) and aircon/dehumidifier/etc worked fine. The hotel is very well-organised, I won't be listing all facilities but the common spaces are clean and smart, the laudry area is at the top floor far from the rooms so you can wash&dry your clothes overnight without bothering anyone, and so is one set of showers (the gendered ones). Kitchen/etc is on the ground floor, but my floor had a microwave on the corridor, how convenient. Toilets are the Japanese kind, which I always appreciate. Staff was helpful and friendly. I didn't have the chance to use it, but there's a café on the ground floor and they serve food throughout the day, very convenient! Location is really good especially for tourists who are out mostly during the day cause there aren't really any places open until late but there's a supermarket open until 11pm, a larger Lawson next door, plus a couple of combini. As many reviews pointed out, the place is not in front of station, but here are the pros: the station is a 10-15min walk depending on your speed, it's on the same main road and it's all flat, and the metro lines are very convenient and fast; there's a variety of buses very close, one is in front of the door and stops at Asakusa, Akihabara, and Ueno, nearby there's also a direct bus to Ikebukuro; you can walk to Asakusa in 20-30min, to Sumida Park in 15min, to the SkyTree area in 30min, and to Akihabara in about 50min. The area is actually very walkable, peaceful and green, with shrines, little shops, and the walk through Sumida Park is just gorgeous.

I liked that it was tidy, clean and quiet. The bathroom had all the neccessary equipment to have a refreshing shower (they provided soap, shampoo and even conditioner and body lotion). Every floor has a microwave and a kettle, but if you'd like to have some serious meal, you could use the kitchen on the first floor with all the stuff you may need. You'll have also everything in the room you'll need, even if you stay a bit longer (I was there twice for 4 days): comfy bed with reading light and place to charge you electronic devices; under that a living room area with a fridge and a little sofa and a cupboard; and there is also a little desk with a chair. They provide you slippers, since it is not allowed to use your shoes in the room (normal in Japan). They also provide a towel, what you can change every day to a clean one. There is also a yukata, which is like a bathrobe. The windows have bugs-protection on it, so you can leave it open if you don't mind the sounds of the street. (It is not a loud district) The location was also wonderful: with a 8 min walk you can reach the metro station, which is one of the best way to travel in Tokyo. There is also a plenty of shopping opportunities such as Lawson or other convenience stores. If it rains, you can have an umbrella, what you return at the end of the day (no charge). They even have a hot bath for 400 yen (I didn't try it, but sounds lovely). The staff was really kind and they speak english.

There was no such thing.

Room as advertised - while seemingly small, was enough for the solo traveller, comfortable enough to rest, sort my luggage and engage in light reading after a long day out. I was not disturbed at all by noises from the neighbours and the futon provided was quite comfortable. Thick mattress that made for good rest. Facilities were good too, toilets on each floor, with shower facilities on specific floors that were not difficult to access. There's warm water from most handwashing taps, a welcome amenity during cold winter months. A Lawson 100 is right beside the hotel, open 24/7 for any food needs. The nearest station, Minami-Senju station, is around 700m walk away, a straight path, with two or three simple traffic crossings. The station brings you to places of interest like Ueno, Akihabara or Asakusa fairly easily, in less than 20 minutes. Near the station is a mall, a Denny's family restaurant (where I had breakfast and spent some time at on the morning returning home) and a McDonald's that opens till 2am.

Lift could be a bit slow, there is only one lift servicing 10 floors. The side entrance you have to use after 11.30pm took me a short moment to find, you just need to move the bicycle gate thing aside (but also remember to close it behind you). Really small inconvenience.

I was very happy at this hotel. It felt like a safe haven in the chaos of Tokyo. It is about a 15mins walk from the nearest train station. There are plenty of nearby convenience stores for food and a kitchen that allows you to cook meals. On my floor there was also a kettle and microwave which made it even more convenient for having hot drinks and food in my room. I also had a fridge in my room that I needed to switch on. I was right next to the showers and toilets so didn't need to walk far and never had to wait to use the facilities. There was also shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower and tea and coffee available in the foyer. The staff were extremely helpful even for my more silly queries. I personally found the Japanese style mattress comfortable. There was information available to help tourists find their way around Tokyo.

My room was quite small and the facilities were a little bit dated but this didn't impact how they functioned.

The room I had was a little 3-tatami+ pocket and it was great. It's nothing fancy, no bells and whistles, just a spot to crash at night because you'll hardly be there otherwise (ideally). There's a mini fridge in each room, microwave and hot water on each floor, the showers were spaced out between a few floors (and the one I used on the 6th was very good). I noticed some comments talk about a smell in the room - that's just old Japanese building + tatami smell. I can't comment on the AC, I left my window open all night for fresh air and it was cool enough I never used it. Staff were pleasant and answered questions I had. There's a bus stop out front, a mini grocery store directly across the street, a larger grocery store just up the street, and Minami-senjyu stn is a 10-ish minute walk away. This is great if you're happy with minimalism for the price and don't mind the commute!

Stayed in Japan for three months, seen like ten different hotels - this one was the best. It isn't as fancy as like APA or other chains and the shared bathrooms / showers might be off-putting to some people, but I can guarantee that you'll enjoy your stay. It's a nice little walk to Asakusa, there's a station nearby that'll being you to Akihabara in a few minutes, the shared facilities are nice and clean and in my like three week long stay I never ended up having to wait for my turn. But by far the best part are the incredibly charming and approachable staff and the shared kitchen to hang out in and meet other travellers. I can wholeheartedly recommend Juyoh Hotel and will be make it my main base of operations when visiting in 2026.

I absolutely loved the bathroom facilities. It was always empty, with a hairdryer, soap, shampoo, and conditioner provided. The room was simple, but very clean. Laundry facilities were available. It was an excellent value. The hotel is located in a great part of Tokyo, next to a bus stop that takes you to Tokyo Station. 15 mins from Asakusa/Sensjo-Ji. 10 mins walk to Hibiya line metro where you can reach many neighbourhoods in 30 mins.

I wanted to stay 1.5 hours longer after check-out and was asked to pay 1000 yen, a lot compared to the nightly price. I understand but on the other hand, I stayed for 6 nights, a bit of flexibility would be appreciated, as I didn't request cleaning, etc during my stay.

This is the second time I've stayed here. Considering the cheap price I think this hotel is perfectly suitable for those who are tight on budget (like me) and only need a place to sleep after a whole day out. There were only shared shower rooms and shared toilets but they were very clean, sometimes I felt like there were only a few guests sharing them. The gender-separated shower rooms are located only on the 10th floor, so I'm glad that they gave me a room on the 8th floor as the distance is not too far. There are a bunch of convenience stores and supermarkets nearby so it was pretty easy to buy food.

The facilities seem a bit old, but again everything was clean so I am not complaining. Unfortunately, my room was right in front of the elevator and microwave area, and the wall was thin, so in the morning I was woken up by the noise of other guests passing by in the corridor even though I am not a light sleeper. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel but the train station is a 12-min walk away. Personally I don't mind but that could be a minus if you don't like walking, especially in the hot and humid summer.

The staff was amazing, very welcoming and warm-hearted. They were always ready to help with anything and give suggestions. The price is incredibly low, but the service provided is anyway very good. The laundry also works well, I never had to wait to do it.

When I first arrived I thought the position of the hotel might be an issue (11 min walk from the closest subway station - it can be harsh under Tokyo's summer heat) but there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel that leads to Asakusa and Ueno in a short time. The bathrooms were shared, but I never had to wait to use anything. So the experience was overall very positive and I can't think of anything I hadn't liked.

I like how private the room was. Like you'd think watching vids online Japanese accommodations would have thin walls, but my neighbours in Juyoh were all great. It's super comfy for the price you pay. There are other places that are about the same place but don't provide the same privacy that you get in Juyoh. I mainly used Juyoh as a base for sleep the 10 days I was around in Tokyo. I also didn't understand how people were complaining about the distance of the Juyoh to stations? Like there's literally bus 46 that takes you directly to Ueon station. The Minamisenju station is literally 15min of walking. MIND YOU, I came early summer. And I sweat a lot. But I had ZERO problems walking around to and from train stations. I also love that there are many depatos (mybasket, tobuu store, etc.) and konbinis (lawsons, lawsons 100, 7-11) nearby. You almost always are never going to starve. Unless you come by during discount hours coz most of the food is gone. Biggest shoutout to the staff. They're all friendly and great. You guys made the experience at Juyoh memorable. I hope the days and work go great and easy for you guys. I'm already missing the Juyoh as I type this review. Till next time. ♥️

What's there not to like? There's laundry. Plenty of shower rooms and toilets (they're also inclusive and gender segregated too for privacy!). I'd say the only thing I didn't like was other customers coz some can be careless or cold for no reason, but that's more towards the individual than the accommodation. All in all, most of the people I've encountered here are actually friendly and great to talk with. The Juyoh is definitely one I'd recommend to friends and family. It's hard to dislike a place so great.
