Location really good. Next to port that takes you to Mujeres Island. Close to the city, 15 min drive. Taxi cabs in front of hotel. Staff and place we're really nice, food 8 out of 10. The restaurant's system of booking isn't friendly, can't reschedule in case of emergency or plan changes. Vanilly Cabrera the waiter from the buffet, Amazing, super helpful and attentive. The beach was amazing too. Good location in general. My mom had an accident and hotel borrowed the wheel chair

Food from restaurants aren't that good. I preferred the buffet rather than the specialties.

Perfect size and well designed resort space with spacious rooms overlooking a beautiful pool or the beach. Very good food with many mexican options to choose from at buffet and restaurants. Excellent wifi throughout the property, including the beach that has a lot of palm trees providing plenty of shade. Sufficient selection of drinks at all bars and restaurants and awesome room service with mini bar! I have never had to ask for anything as everything was happening as it should.

For a beach lover like myself, the beach is small with way too many sharp pebbles at the entry and souranded by seaweed. Clarity of water decreases as the day progresses due to boats' activity of the nearby port, would be my guess. On the bright side, the hotel is located just steps away from the ferry to Isla Mujeres, which has the most beautiful beaches and 10 min walk from Langosta Beach, where the waters are of much better quality. If you like to stroll on the beach, you are better off starting at Langosta Beach as everything to the left of the resort is a seaweed paradise not worth exploring.

It was nice having the man made beach as an option to spent time at, it was also swimmable in comparison with other beaches that were plagues by seaweed.

We found the buffet breakfast very busy and it took a while to get a table if you went late morning.

We liked all the facilities and the calm waters on the beach.

Sometimes there could be a lot more people using all the facilities at one given time

Carmen, Juana, Jose, Sandra, Henry, Gerado, Jahir (bartenders/waiters/waitresses) are INCREDIBLY AWESOME. So hard-working. So fun to talk to. Regina, Jade, and Giovanni (entertainment staff)... amazing. They do not have an easy job. Their energy and ability to be genuine with guest is impressive. Loved the ladies at the front desk. Paulina, Esme, and _____. I was originally planning to stay at Occidental for 5-6 days. Because of these people, I stayed there for 10 days. And when my daughter and I visit in September, we will be staying here (reservations already made!).

I enjoyed the staff the servers were always pleasant, overall great staff, helpful and very accommodating except for a few ladies at the front desk.

Food is not tasty

Location and staff were great! Amenities were good. The property overall was well maintained and clean. Nightly shows were pretty good too.

Bed was hard and made for waking up stiff. Also there weren't adequate blankets and so we usually got quite cold at night due to the AC working very well. They discouraged us from opening up the sliding door to the balcony. Shampoo and body wash had a stale oily fragrance. We ended up using our own. Our 3rd floor room overlooking the beach was wonderful, but it was above the beach bar. It was noisy each night until 3:00am. It appears they didn't have quiet hours and it was difficult to get to sleep because of it each night. The beach that the resort had access to was very small and limited.

How They líed and held back the truth and told us about a nice breakfast and tour at their other hotel at no Point we were told about time share and that our breakfast will be along some one else on our table . I even asked to clarify when i suspected some thing and they kept asking for our credit cards. While still at our hotel Our morning was ruined. If it wasn’t for this it will of been a 10.

All the restaurants were excellent, the food was delicious, the service was great and the staffs were courteous and attentive. The room was spacious, and the mini fridge was fully stock, and restocked every morning, the A/C was cold and pleasant, the bathroom was spacious and had a good exhaust fan. The grounds were well maintained and very picturesque; the pool and beach were wonderful.

The two beds in the room were only full-size bed and they were not very comfortable and were on the stiff and hard side for my preference.
