The location of the hotel is exceptional. It is isolated and quiet, with a beautiful path to cross through the jungle with animals to reach the beach, which is splendid. Clear water, palm trees, not too busy... The beach was one of our main criteria and we were not disappointed. The staff was very nice. The food was uneven depending on the dishes/restaurants but we managed to enjoy ourselves by avoiding certain dishes that were not very fresh/too industrial.

Apart from the lobby bar, the cocktails were not good and very chemical (even the smoothies were based on concentrated juice). The mattress was much too soft and therefore uncomfortable. Not the hotel's fault, but: Lots and lots of American tourists. Everything is done to meet their expectations, which are not necessarily those of Europeans. Some tourists were very noisy and drunk, even in the morning.

The ongoing loudspeaker pool party is too close to the beach area and interferes with peacefully enjoying the sea and the sand. It should be either turned down or limited in duration. It goes all day. Many times we thought we just wanted to hear the breeze and the waves.

Our family loved the wildlife and the various choices for food.

The security of the rooms could have been better. The lock was broken on one of the rooms which required several calls to the security guard. He was prompt, but it was a hassle I didn't want on vacation. I also would have liked to see an interior lock of some sort.

We stayed on the Privileged and had complimentary room service, a romantic dinner and full access to hydrotherapy circuit at the spa, plus complimentary massages. The Xpu-Ha beach is beautiful and relatively unscathed from overdevelopment. Arrangements can be done through the online platform (e.g., dinner reservations, room service, etc.) rather than to message a concierge or going to the reception at every time.

Privileged guests have a special restaurant called B-Loved but it takes a lot of time (sometimes 1 hour) to have the food served. The beach section for Privileged is small and gets crowded because there is no control about how many spaces people can take without using them. The sargassum season started a bit earlier than expected. With some barriers at sea or harvesting ships, the impact of the sargassum could be reduced.

Booking charged me over 16000 pesos if i had gone straight to th hotel it would have cost 11,070. I will not trust booking.com again.

Everything about this place was excellent. The staff were always very friendly and attentive. The layout and surroundings were very well thought out. The rooms were pretty standard, but the comfort of the beds and pillows was top knotch. The beach was amazing, water was clear and never too rough for swimming. Nice for walks with no major crowds. A couple of spots down the beach barely had anyone around at all, which was nice for a bit of a getaway. The food was really good, especially since all the dinners were all a la carte with a higher end feel. The room service options were pretty basic, but good, none the less.The entertainment was decent as well, with some very talented acrobats at the one dinner location. Love the lushness of the property. It was a nice touch. The wildlife everywhere was really cool and often very entertaining.

These are just knit picks... Maybe could use a few more washrooms. They were never crowded but sometimes a bit out of the way. I wasn't a big fan of the high-energy spring break, loud, techno style mid day entertainment at the pool. Im sure the younger hard drinking types were enjoying it, but I found it a bit tacky and overbearing at times. I think they could add a bit more class with more live music acts rather than all the techno. Like I said, these are knit picks more than anything.

Beautiful beach, awesome staff, lots of activities, good food (even for a european), bartenders did not have a problem mixing drinks not included in the menu, and the nice ladies at the restaurant’s front desk were definitely a highlight of every breakfast and lunch. Always smiling, ready to help you, sit you down, get you anything you need.

This is definitelly not a compaint towards the hotel, as it is influenced by the climate, but the humidity in our room was so awful. We actually had a little mold on some of our stuff in the bathroom upon leaving after two weeks. It did not feel comfy at all, and it only added to this weird “old” room smell.

Our stay at Catalonia Royal Tulum Beach & Spa Resort was nothing short of extraordinary. One of the highlights was the lush greenery surrounding the resort. The beautifully maintained gardens and tropical vegetation created a serene, tranquil atmosphere that perfectly complemented the natural beauty of the location. Walking through the pathways felt like being in a hidden jungle oasis. A huge thank you to all the staff who made our stay so memorable – from the reception team to the restaurant servers, housekeeping, and the beach attendants. Your kindness and hard work truly made a difference. The holiday was outstanding – a perfect blend of relaxation, natural beauty, and top-tier service. I highly recommend this resort to anyone seeking a peaceful, luxurious, and unforgettable escape.

After a wonderful experience at another Catalonia location last year (Playa Maroma), I couldn't wait to visit this one. The "Privileged" upgrade (such an odd word choice) is a must for the sole purpose of being allowed to sit and eat at the amazing BeLoved restaurant on the beach. It was almost $100 more per day, but this made our vacation. As much as it's small, it was a nice surprise that no reservations were needed at any time there. The Rauxa was the best of all other restaurants, and quite entertaining.

Compared to Catalonia Playa Maroma it was a bit of a disappointment. This resort is much smaller with much less options. The beach is smaller, they work manually to clear the seaweed, which is quite ineffective. The evening entertainment is quite weak. The Terrace restaurant has a beautiful setting outdoors, but the food is disappointing. The Tuscan restaurant has great food, but the space feels like a facility dining hall, couldn't wait to get out of there. The downside of our stay was the moldy smell in the room. We asked to switch rooms, which was much better, but still, even several days after returning home our bags and anything we couldn't wash still reeks of the smell.

The staff is very hardworking and friendly and they make a lot of effort to make the guests feel comfortable. The food is very tasty and there are many healthy meals and drinks. It is also excellent that they always try to keep the waste production as low as possible. I found it very good that there are no plastic straws and disposable items.

I think it is a great pity that visitors do not manage to avoid feeding the wild animals such as coatis, despite many friendly hints and requests from the staff.
