There is a charming breakfast room and the breakfast offerings are especially nice. The bread and croissants are fresh and flavorful. There is always fruit, cheese, ham, yogurt, freshly squeezed juice, and eggs made to order. The rooms have wonderful room-darkening curtains to block out the light. I also appreciated having a tea kettle and tea/coffee available in my room.

The weather was nice during my stay and the room was usually a bit warm when I returned at night. The air con had not been turned on (or else I was unable to turn it on) and so I opened my windows for cooler air. There was usually a good bit of noise from the bars and restaurants in the square behind the hotel, often into the early hours of the morning.

I really liked the location next to pedestrian shopping.

The instructions for parking were in French and came late. I was told how to pull car around to offload luggage but it was a serious mess to figure out. It would have been easier to roll the luggage from the outside parking lot. I had a room over the square and it was so noisy from people below until 2am. I couldn’t sleep.

The room was very clean and mostly in good condition. The sound-proofing was excellent, considering the central location.

The shower door in the bathroom could not be closed. We could not get the safe in the room to function.

very centrally located, perfect for discovering all of this historic city. reasonably priced breakfast. owner is very helpful with local recommendations. parking at Pasteur is convenient and reasonably priced. view of the river is lovely.

there is noise from people hanging out in the nearby square and cafes. closing windows abates the noise but may not be an option if weather is warm enough.

This is a charming hotel right in the heart of Besancon. Perfect location, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. We will definitely come back.

We didn't have long enough there. We would happily have stayed longer.

Breakfast was fine always limited for me as a vegan especially in France so have to accept certain limitations The hotel is right on the water front with public parking nearby with helpful directions from the staff the patron. Small and bijou it is a little gem in the heart of Besancon old town

a full vegan choice for breakfast but that is asking a lot !

It’s located in the beehive of activity with easy access to all that we wanted to see. Heavy windows kept the room quiet.

the WiFi was poor, booting us offline every 5 minutes or so and requiring entering login credentials each time.
