For many years we’ve travelled between Calais and near avallon with a one night mid route stop over. We will now stop looking for a b and b as lorengrain perfectly suited our needs. Olivier was very welcoming and thoughtful and we will defitely return

This was a last-minute booking to get us closer to home, and with no expectations, we were pleasantly surprised by the property’s charm. The hosts were warm and welcoming—greeting us outside on arrival—which made a lovely first impression. After a long day’s drive, the pool and sauna were just what we needed. Dinner and breakfast were simple but enjoyable and fairly priced. The parking area felt spacious and secure. Overall, a big thumbs up from us—we’d happily stay again if we’re in the area. Thank you!

I have no complaints about the booking—it suited our needs perfectly. Just a bit of constructive feedback: if it’s not already in the works, consider enhancing the breakfast/dining area with some tasteful décor and upgraded furnishings. It has the potential to become a charming little bistro.

Wonderful location. We stopped on our way back to the uk. It was very close to the lovely town of Laon and the route home. Olivier the owner was very kind and helpful. He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The pool area and sauna were wonderful, the parking was ample. The breakfast was great, Fresh pastries and French bread, great coffee and hot chocolate for the kids. We slept very well, the room was quiet and dark. It was also very spacious with lovely towels and gowns. Olivier also helped us order a pizza delivery which was lovely. Thank you for a wonderful nights stay :)

That we couldn’t stay longer and explore the local area more.

The day before we arrived, I received a text from the owner Olivier with details of the property and asked if we would like dinner. I text Olivier, ten minutes before arrival, as requested and he sent a video of the road to take. He was there on arrival and asked if we would like to use the pool for an hour. We had this to ourselves and it was lovely after a long, hot journey. The room was gorgeous, the bed was extremely comfortable and it was spotless. There was a tassimo machine and kettle in the room. Me and my husband were the only ones for dinner and Olivier and his son had made homemade burgers and the best chips I've ever tasted. Breakfast was a lovely spread with fresh bread, croissants and pain au choc on each table. There is also a sauna onsite and you can book a massage too. An excellent place to chill. The town of Loan is close and there is lots to explore locally.

Olivier the host was fab, waited for us as we arrived late and delivered breakfast right on time the next day. We have two dogs, one is reactive so we wanted somewhere out of the way and quiet. Facilities, room and location were all fab. We were passing through to Italy so this was a really convenient stop along the route without much of a detour at all. We have a big car and there were no issues accessing the site.

Wifi was a bit slow, but that's about it. We had our own data so really wasn't an issue for us.

The location was easy to find, not far from the motorway & on a hot summer's evening the air-conditioning in our room & access to the pool - privatized just for us for an hour on our arrival - was wonderful. We also appreciated the microwave in the meal room that we were able to use in the evening ...

Although there was a great selection for breakfast - bread/cheese/ham/yoghurt/fruit/croissants, we struggled briefly when the water for the kettle ran out, the coffee machine needed more beans & we needed more milk. Everything was resolved by Olivier, but we didn't know where to find him initially.

Breakfast was excellent and very fresh. The host is most welcoming and the air conditioning was a godsend as it was very hot. Although it does not have a restaurant, the host recommended one in Lâon where we had a delicious meal. We would certainly consider staying there again.

A very minor point but the shower really needs a new head.

The property was set in a peaceful, quiet and very attractive rural location. The amazing historic small town of Laon was a ten minute drive away with relatively easy free parking. The host Olivier was incredibly helpful, thoughtful and kind and has created a little oasis of peace and tranquility. There is an indoor pool and plenty of places to sit and relax in the grounds of the property. Our stay was just one night as we travelled through Europe back to the Channel Tunnel. It was a perfect stop off and I would not hesitate to stay again.

There is a restaurant within 200 metres which was quite pricey, so for most people, a drive would be required for an evening meal. A very small price to pay for the peace and quiet of the location.

The host was very welcoming and helpful. The pool was nice after we had a long drive. The bed was made from patters but the mattress was surprisingly comfortable. Close to a restaurant.

The decor and outside spaces are a little mis matched/unfinished in places.

Great communication with Olivier before our visit. He was there to greet us and show us round. He reserved the pool for us on our arrival which was very welcome after a long drive from the Alps. He also kindly booked a table at the Chateau for dinner. I would highly recommend Lorengrain.
