La Croix Basque was the most beautiful house we have found in at least 4 years, which is a lot to say bearing in mind we travel a fair amount. The views were astonishing and the authenticity of every piece of furniture, lighting, bathroom… specially the wood work both structural and decorative was simply exquisite. Our host was genuine, kind and beautiful too, who took pride on her outstanding welcoming and superb breakfast. We would happily buy this property and retire there, one the most beautiful corners of Europe, in our view!

Absolutely everything!

Highly recommend Villa La Croix Basque. It is a beautiful home surrounded by a lovely garden and it has a view of the mountains from the balcony in the room where we stayed. Marie-France is a fantastic host, so warm and welcoming. She also makes a delicious breakfast every morning. We got good advice on places to go for dinner as well as the best beaches for relaxing and swimming or lying on the beach. I would go back again any time I'm in the area.

Marie-France is the perfect hostess who doesn’t compromise on quality. Nothing was too much trouble. Ably assisted by Pepito, she went out of her way to ensure that we enjoyed our stay to the utmost. Proper hospitality with genuine care for her guests. It was our pleasure to be looked after so handsomely.

Very nice breakfast with local products. A rather eclectic interior but very comfortable. Nice balcony for reading or meals and with a great view on the nearby mountains. Within walking distance to town or the beach but up hill on the way back. Parking just in front of the house.

We needed to be careful to keep the water from escaping the shower.

The view of the mountains was beautiful. The breakfast was fresh, delicious and plentiful. Our room overlooked the garden where roses were blooming. Our hostess made us feel at home.

Our bathroom had a large tub and shower which was difficult for my husband to manoeuvre. Our hostess let us use a more accessible one. I believe this is not an issue with the other rooms.

The character of the house,quiet position elevated on a no through road, view of mountains from breakfast patio and room, comfortable bed,room with bath, good breakfast. Nice gardens. Very welcoming hostess who volunteered maps and information of St Jean de Luz and surrounding area. Very enjoyable stay.

The owner Marie Francis was absolutely incredible. She is pure joy and extraordinarily helpful. The breakfast she provides is a memory we will not soon forget. There were various types of breads, cheese, meat, yogurt, fruit and a variety of spreads. The view from the breakfast table was gorgeous. We stayed in the room on the first floor. We were traveling for a month and it was the best three nights sleep I had. We will never forget our stay at Villa La Croix.
