The hotel looks a bit old and not so impressive from the outside but once you step in, it looks fantastic - the reception area, the breakfast room and the room itself (in our case, superior room with balcony). Everything looks great and the room is so spacious, with plenty of space for the suitcases and also plenty of storage space for the clothes (something we did not encounter in the hotel rooms in Biarritz and Bayonne during the same trip). The breakfast was good and enjoyable in a well lit beautiful room with views of the sea. The location of the hotel was excellent, close to the beach and the city centre, allowing nice walks for shopping, eating or to enjoy a stunning sunset. My wife and I also enjoyed the spa treatments, the hammam and the indoor sea water pool with all its jets and bubbles. A very relaxing stay.

Just for the sake of mentioning something, an earlier check-in time (not 4pm) would be appreciated, especially if people are coming from a long flight. And, as I said, the hotel exterior did make us think (incorrectly) that the hotel interior would be old and run-down, but clearly these two points are just small negatives, when compared to all the positives of the stay.

Thalazur We spent four nights here in August. Good base for exploring Saint Jean du Luz and surrounding area and even managed a day trip to San Sebastián. Reception was welcoming and efficient with good English. Staff they’re very helpful. Our room was on the first floor and was very comfortable and well appointed. We had a bathroom with long bath and great shower, plenty hot water every time. Large bed with good mattress, air conditioning that worked well had a small balcony that got sun in the late afternoon, early evening. We did not breakfast in the hotel since Petit Dejeuner is available in the town at €9 and we could not justify, or eat, €23 worth in the hotel. We only ate once in the hotel and that was in their Tapas bar. We found that good quality and good value. €50 got us a very fine special Croque Monsieur, Sausages and Patatas Bravas, washed down by two glasses of rose wine and a 50cl glass of draught beer.

Room had a fridge, kettle and coffee machine. Water was provided but deliberately no milk for the coffee or tea. Television had no English language programmes but hardly surprising since visitors from English speaking countries were not evident during our stay. Only negative was the relaxed attitude to servicing bedrooms, most times in late afternoon. We did not use the Spa pool since I had the wrong kind of trunks. Potential visitors should note there are no areas for sun loungers. The Spa caters for water activities, totally indoors. The beach is on the doorstep but sand was a throw back to us.

The room was clean, nicely decorated and good size, however soundproofing was not good, you can get noise from the outside even with closed windows and from the corridor. The breakfast choice and service was good. The spa is really nice and welcoming, and the spa staff is great, the spa can get quite busy sometimes though. The bar food and service was excellent.

While most receptionists are great and very helpful, some give wrong advice perhaps due to lack of training. The dinner restaurant has changed and is not as good as before.

Excellent stay. Very easy hotel to get most out of. Comfy, updated rooms. I had a large suite. Great and relaxing spa. I don't speak French but enjoyed communicating with spa staff who spoke limited English. Excellent food both in bar and main restaurant. Far superior to Grand Hotel which was my last visit.

Wouldn't let me in pool with board shorts

The breakfast and setting for breakfast was one of the best i’ve ever had. All kinds of fruit, baked goods, cooked options, healthy options. Just a wonderful and relaxing experience. The hotel was full but we didn’t hear a sound all night. The beds were exquisite as were the pillows. The staff were so kind and sweet

no shower caps, no complimentary water, poor info about the facilities in the bedroom

The hotel was renovated during Covid lock downs. Everything has been updated. The rooms are very comfortable. The thalasso spa and pool area is great and the treatments were superb. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and now can deal with guests in various languages besides French. All around, it was an excellent stay in all respects. A particular thanks to all the wonderful staff at the hotel and bar and redtaurant!

We really enjoyed our stay. We booked it last minute so unfortunately we did t have a view. Other than that the room was pretty large so that a plus.

The only downside I’d say is the spa. I wish there were more amenities such as Q-tips, or body lotion, etc … but otherwise the sauna and hamman was very big and could accommodate a lot of people :)

Excellent location, very nice rooms and friendly staff

Children under 12 cannot use the swimming or spa facilities at all. This is very much an adult hotel. This is something that was not immediately obvious when we booked but was the first message we received from the hotel after we had made our non refundable booking and on check in. It needs to be much clearer on the Booking.com site to avoid disappointment

We are regular guests at the hotel. We enjoy the hotel and the town.

Just an observation; the hotel IT system should identify returning guests; it would be pleasant to be greeted at reception “welcome back”

Location is right on the beach, nice beach towels are available (limited numbers but ok). Interior of the room is modern and fresh. Breakfast has big verity of choice with perfect view. SPA facilities are great.

Staff on the reception mostly does not speak English, it makes difficult to solve the issues:( But they really try to help… so somehow you can find a solution. There were no free of charge water in the room, only welcome 2 bottles in the first day, which is strange taking into account price per night. Towels were washed and changed regularly but with stains:(
