Great staff and lovely old hotel With common spaces and about 6 minute walk to the beach. 5 minutes walk from Les Halle’s and about 5 min walk to the local park ( a hidden gem if you want a quiet picnic away from shopping and beach). It’s right next door to Carrefour city so plenty of juice, bread and anything else you need readily near. I took a walk through the cemetery which had the beat views. It’s right up The street from the hotel.

Nothing really. It would be nice to have tea. In the room but it was nice to go down to the common space and get a cup and socialize.

The room was very well lit and ventilated, the bathroom was large enough and had everything we needed, everything worked well and the breakfast was good (without being exceptional). Very pleasant service and attention from the staff. The hotel is well located in a quiet area, and they offer drinks in a common room downstairs. Also, there are several places to sit at the end of the day, which makes for a nice addition.

The breakfast room can get a bit crowded, and when this happens, the staff aren't able to fully restock the buffet, so one has to wait a while or choose the cold options.

A wonderful mix of the best of old and new combined. Dripping with character and also very clean and comfortable. Very tasteful, of historic interest as well as displaying (at the moment) amazing paintings by a local artist that are on sale. Attentive staff. Exquisite breakfast in a lovely room. Plenty of space to relax in the elegant lounge. Plenty of teas and coffee at hand and freely available. Real attention to detail for example a display of mini Easter eggs on counter offered to guests. I will definitely come back and recommend to my friends .

A lovely touch was the availability of newspapers, so thank you. I may have missed seeing the full range available for guests.

From the moment of arrival at Grand Hotel De La Poste we felt welcome. The check-in was seamless, the information at check-in was clear and informative. All the staff are excellent in their roles and equaly welcoming. Our room was excellent, spacious and we had a terrace outside. All the facilities in the room were first class. The hotel provides a tea/coffee facility throughout the day, which is a great bonus. It is a short walk into the main pedestrianised shopping street and equally short walk to the beach. We can recommend the hotel without any hesitation and look forward to returning in the future.

The staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Handy location with a supermarket next door and Monoprix opposite. Easy walk to the beach every day. Our room was big, light, bright and had a small outdoor sitting area where we enjoyed snacks and wine after the beach. Breakfast choices were fresh and plentiful. First time in Saint Jean de Luz. Will definitely return to Grand hotel de la Poste.

We liked everything

Amazing building in an amazing town - both with an interesting history. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and assisted with any questions that we had for them. The lounge area downstairs was well-equipped with board games and the free coffee / tea service was a lovely touch to our stay.

Our stay was just for one night... so I didn't enjoy leaving the place so soon.

Our room was large and very comfortable. The bathroom with separate areas for the shower toilet and large space for the sink, changing and make up were an added plus.the staff, everyone was helpful and offered excellent suggestions for spending our time in Saint Jean de Luz.

The buffet breakfast , was disappointing for the 13+ euros pp, the”hot?” Food was cold and not very tasty. Totally uninspiring. Better to go to a cafe for breakfast.

Lovely period hotel. Extremely friendly and helpful reception staff. Large room with a comfortable bed and clean spacious bathroom. Decent buffet breakfast. Complimentary tea and coffee throughout the day off the reception area. Well located within the town centre. A welcoming place. Dog friendly, allowed in the buffet breakfast room .

No parking but a free car park was within walking distance. No bar or restaurant - but plenty within easy walking distance.

Excellent shower, comfortable bed, wonderful lobby with free espresso machine, accommodating, helpful staff. Charming historic vibe.

Wished we had a proper chair in our room, but really no place to put one. Room was a bit overpriced for the size of room we had.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. It is like stepping back into the past, into a historical mansion. The bathroom in the bedroom was as big as the bedroom itself. Beautiful decor. Friendly staff, and free tea and coffee facilities in the lobby. Walking distance to the beach, and far enough away from the hubbub for a nice night's sleep.

Beds were a little bit hard, but that is a question of taste.
