It was a remarkable experience. The place is beautiful. historic and spotless clean. There's a little park within the hotel property. Saumur is approximately 15 minutes close. Breakfast is great, outside, overlooking the Loire on a sunny day. Dinner experience is amazing, for a high-end dinner aprox 200 euro a couple.

I understand that this is a monument but please be aware that there's no lift, airco or pool (which is strange because the property is big and a pool could be built say, along with the mini golf or tennis court). Our visit being in June, we had to sleep with the windows open to survive the heat. If you do the same, ⚠️ TURN OUT THE LIGHTS before you go to sleep; otherwise, you will be invaded by a swarm of insects. I warned you, as nobody warned me. ⚠️ Another thing: though the staff is really great, if I was management, I would see that they are easily visible at breakfast time in case clients need something or food runs short. We had to knock the door and make them notice, this is not really what you expect about such a high-quality place.

Lovely views over the Loire river and helpful staff who provided good restaurant recommendations (as the restaurant at the hotel was closed). They also catered for my wife who is gluten free which was appreciated. Breakfast on the terrace was a great way to start the day.

It was hot in the rooms after you were out for the day mbut you could open the windows which helped in the evenings.

We had booked a traditional room on the terrace but we discovered that the hotel Wi-Fi did not reach the room and we had no internet access. The receptionist however was very helpful and provided us with a different room nearer the main building, which also happened to be an upgrade. It was a much nicer room, bigger and with a bigger bed as well as internet access. We would not recommend the traditional room - it is worth paying the extra.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay. Accomodations were excellent, w large rooms and balcony to wonderful views. Food (Dinner and breakfast) were excellent, and the dinner wait staff was very conscientious and attentive. Very friendly staff. We had one dinner at A Contre-Courant-a variety of meals served w a Caribbean flair and rum flavors to taste if so inclined. The owner was extremely nice and friendly. Overall had a great experience.

The breakfast (brunch !) was excellent. Plenty of choice - hot and cold food. Decent coffee machine. Taken on the terrace despite slightly grey morning.

The restaurant isn't open on Mondays (the day we stayed) but the lovely family run restaurant, Le Carahutta, is a 10 minute walk away, alongside the mighty Loire river. One of my best ever steaks in France !

This property is beautiful. Very well kept Château with a Hotel field. The hotel itself is a beautiful castle with gorgeous architecture and gardens. Our room was very spacious and comfortable with big beautiful windows very large bathroom storage, television desk, and extremely comfortable bed. Staff was lovely. Breakfast was excellent. We highly recommend this property.

There was nothing we didn’t like. The only thing we might mention is some of the decor is reproduction. Still beautiful. However, if you’re looking for an authentic château, you might want to consider many of the art pieces are prints and reproductions.

We appreciated we could check in later around midnight. We loved that we could have our breakfast outsider on the terrace. Great location! Nice feeling to be arriving there. And glutenfree bread for breakfast was available. For my spouse, the breakfast was amazing!

The bed was pretty small. I could smell that the place is quite old. But I liked the smell of cosmetics :-) For me, the hotel was not that authentic. I was not that fond of all the interior design. But still, we were really glad we could be there!

Royal. Felt wonderful. It was a birthday gift for my girlfriend. Really elegant and well thought place with a wonderful view of the Loire River. Close to Saumur Castle. The personnel was really attentive and the property exceeded our expectations. Had a wonderful dinner there and had the chance of having a wonderful private breakfast because no one else was at the hotel.

I really love Loire Valley as a travel destination, staying in a chateau at Loire Valley is something you won't forget, a wonderful experience. We stayed at Napoleon Suite, room was quite big, the facilities were good. We had a terrace with river view. There was no noise at all in the night, absolutely peaceful. Breakfast had a lot of choices and tasty. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Not sth to complain, but maybe worth mentioning: It was a clean room/suite, but with all the antique furnitures and big carpets/curtains, don't expect perfect cleanliness. Still no visible dust.

the place is charming ,room is like you are in a legend story breathtaking balcony over the Loire and the green nature.the breakfast was good with choices you need specially the cheese.staff helpfull they booked ataxi to pick me up from the train ststion.every place in the Chateau is full with luxury ancient furniture and accessories.the Chateau gardin is green breathtaking
