Excellent location with river views, a smart room and a comfortable bed. Plenty of restaurants a few minutes walk away near the Opera House. The Maison de Vins d'Anjou et Saumur next to the Tourist Information Centre is worth a visit - free tastings!

A fridge would have been useful. No aircon which may be a problem in hot weather. Don't open the windows at night in summer or you'll be invaded by midges. This happened on my first visit a couple of years ago.

Superb location on the banks of the Loire only a five minute walk to a street containing many restaurants. The hotel contains a comfortable bar with indoor and outdoor seating. Free car parking directly opposite the hotel on the river bank. Continental breakfast was really good with a great variety of food on offer.

Rooms could benefit from tea/coffee making facility.

Fabulous location, beautiful view of the Seine with a free public car park just over the road. Clean and comfortable room. A very welcoming check in with breakfast available. A great place to stop travelling down to the South of France from Calais with some amazing wine and Cremant Caves on the door step. Loire doesn’t disappoint gastronomically.

The restaurant and bar was closed during my stay in mid August.

Convenient free parking across the street . Nice river view. Good breakfast choice. Good location for town centre.

Lack of tea/coffee facilities . A little noisy at times overnight from the road outside but this is balanced by the river views and central location , a simple choice.

An excellent hotel with a lovely view of the river. I asked in advance for the room with the balcony window overlooking the river and the pleasant owner organised this for us. The staff were very friendly. There was parking just outside the hotel which was either free or not too expensive when we stayed which partly straddled a bank holiday. The wifi was good which allowed us to check emails and listen to Radio Caroline on their internet broadcasts. I think the restaurant was closed while we stayed in mid-May.

Breakfast might have been a little more adventurous with some cooked eggs or similar?

A kettle for tea or coffee be very nice. Breakfast nice but basic. Little Ham, hard cheese would have been nice. But nice fresh bread, croissants etc

The staff were all very charming and made every effort to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect for a visit to the city, near lots of restaurants, easy walking distance to the Chateaux, visitors information centre, town centre. The rooms are small but pristine. The restaurant attached to the hotel served excellent food. We can highly recommend this hotel. Excellent value, location, staff.

We could hear guests in the rooms above especially when they use their shower. That was really the only negative.

Perfect location, great breakfast, lovely host and great Bar. Great local parking

No aircon - although remarkable warm weather - so with window open there was a lot of street noise. But they can’t really do anything about that

Good location near Loire a Velo cycle path and in center of Saumur. Secure bicycle storage in bar area. Very courteous and helpful staff who gave us great restaurant recommendations.

If you have difficulty with stairs, realize that there is no lift at this hotel.

The room was quiet and very clean and comfortable. It was good value for the money and in an excellent position . The proprietor was very welcoming and the breakfast was also good value. We would stay there again.

It would be really good to have a kettle with tea and coffee in the room , especially after a long hot journey.
