Location superb. We chose a more expensive room with a view of the castle which was definitely worth it. It was spacious, very comfortable bed and everything we needed for our stay. Lovely lounge and bar area overlooking the Loire and castle is definitely its main selling point.

The hospitality from the front of house staff was inconsistent. On our arrival the staff member who checked us in seemed stressed so not very welcoming. We stayed in five different hotels during our trip this time, and this was the first place we didn’t feel particularly welcome.

The view from our riverfront room and from the bar and breakfast room was wonderful. The room itself was comfortable and quiet. Breakfast had excellent choices and was reasonably priced. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It’s a ten minute walk over the bridge to the centre of the town. Parking was free outside the hotel. There is a laundromat, small grocer and bake shop 2 blocks from the hotel.

Mini fridge didn’t work. We found the room a little warm and air conditioning didn’t work or wasn’t available.

We enjoyed our stay here. The location was perfect for visiting Saumur. Parking for our car was plentiful. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was also very good.

There isn't an option for an evening meal other than a warmed up one Having more control over the aircon other than on or off, would definitely be an improvement. It would be nice if it was a little quieter.

A wonderful situation by the river Loire & worth upgrading to a river view room. A ten minute stroll across the bridge & you were in the main square with all the restaurants & shops . The bedroom was large & comfortable , the bathroom was well equipped & good quality hand & shower wash (no body lotion unfortunately). the breakfast was good & many choices. Lots of free parking spaces .

2 negatives . Noisy air con in the bedroom (we have been travelling for a few days so we noticed the difference . There was obviously a waterproof protector under the bottom sheet , this made you perspire & needs another mattress protector (not waterproof ) on top .

The location & view from the river facing room was fantastic. The bar terrace was also brilliant & drinks were very reasonably priced. Very good buffet breakfast as well.

No staff on the bar so had to go and get someone from reception after waiting for some time to be served. When the lady came back with me she then tried to say that a couple who had arrived at the bar after I went to get her were first but I told her they were not as they came when I left to get a staff member to come to the bar. The couple also confirmed this. Perhaps better to have seperate bar staff than relying on reception staff to also serve people at the bar.

Room with sublime view, nice atmosphere. Complete quality breakfast. Good friendly staff. Good parking space. Easy accessible. Great spot.

Sadly there was no real menu à la carte to consume in bar, restaurant. Staff from reception needed to serve, not ideal. No fresh food like salad, fresh fruit and a small but fresh à la carte menu.

Nice hotel near to Saumur, just a 5 minute walk across the river. Loads of parking, very nice bar and restaurant area, friendly staff.

Bedroom was a little tatty, in need of a refurb soon. Perfectly fine though and very comfortable. Would have liked a fridge in the room ideally, but overall felt good value for money.

Superb location with bar and terrace overlooking the Loire with beautiful views of the château and Saumur skyline, especially stunning as the sun goes down. It’s only about ten minutes stroll into town over the bridge where there are lots of restaurants, shops and bars and there are a couple of restaurants within five minutes’ walk behind the hotel too. Staff are very friendly and helpful and breakfast is generous and served overlooking the Loire. Secure underground parking is a real bonus. We were delighted not to have stayed in town as the view from the other bank cannot compare. Loved it and look forward to returning… thank you!

Location is ideal. Across the river from the Chateau and town with views up and down the valley. Easy within walking distance into town. Parking at the front of the hotel is limited but there is a hotel carpark 25 meters away so no problem and free. Hotel is superb inside, decor is amazing with painted horse murals on the walls and sculptures in reception. Very modern, clean and well presented. Room was light and clean and we booked a river view so well worth the extra cost. One of the best breakfast selections I've had and plenty of it.. We will come back.

Aircon was turned down only so far and with the hot weather it made it a bit uncomfortable. Temperature is not controllable from the room.

Large comfortable beds! Blackout curtains. Decor nice. And as we had a river view again, it was fabulous. Bar and concierge great.

We had room 230 without balcony this time so smaller room. The bathroom had a bath that was so small you couldn't stretch your legs out and to turn taps on you have to lean so far into bath because of bath screen it is a bit dangerous as is getting out very awkward because of glass shower screen.
