This is a lovely hotel in a great location ! But mostly, Regis, the owner makes your stay perfect. He is very charming and accommodating. He helped me to figure out how to get to the Fontevraud Abbey along with other useful suggestions. The hotel is full of character and ambiance. It is in a small, quiet alley but opens up onto a beautiful, lively square with many restaurants and an old church. The rooms are comfortable, complete with a modern bathroom and luxury toiletries. Coffee maker in the room. Breakfast is definately worth it - plentiful and delicious. Small courtyard to enjoy a glass of wine. One thing that was very classy - Regis sent me a thank you note for staying at his hotel !!! That's never happened before ! I highly recommend Hotel St. Pierre

Everything was great

Everything! I felt as though I had discovered the best boutique hotel in the entire Loire Valley! This place I would recommend to anyone considering staying anywhere remotely near Saumur, even if you don't plan to see much of Saumur. It is so close to so many great little restaurants and boulangeries, not to mention the castle. This hotel felt like staying at the home of a rich relative. From the moment we arrived until the last second of being there, we were amazed at the quality of this hotel, and all at a very reasonable price. The rooms were quiet, clean, comfortable, well stocked, etc. There was NOTHING here I could criticize. I have stayed at many many hotels in France, and this one tops them all. I am not exaggerating.

NOTHING. Repeat, NOTHING. Well, if you insist, the water pressure could have been better. But that is it.

Our room was absolutely wonderful, with a little Juliet balcony overlooking the eglise. Although we arrived rather early, we were warmly welcomed and offered a drink, on a very hot day. The manager was friendly and very helpful. Aside from the room, I would also recommend the breakfast which was absolutely delicious and made up entirely of local produce. I would definitely stay here again the next time we visit Saumur.

We like everything about this boutique hotel: the welcome, the location so close to the centre of the old town with its shops, restaurants and bars, and the superb breakfast with its choice of fresh bio French delicacies is always something to look forward to. The rooms are well appointed, the beds comfortable and the bathrooms modern and spotlessly cleaned. The owner takes personal care of you, and your car, and we always leave wanting to return again one day.

We found nothing to dislike.

Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer at Hotel Saint Pierre Boutique Hotel in Saumur. Owner, Regis could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Helping with our luggage, answering questions, and helping us with dinner reservations. Making us feel very at home and relaxed. The hotel is beautiful. The attention to detail was fabulous. The decor throughout was delightful. We stay in the superior attic room, which is very spacious and cozy. The breakfast was a treat with all you could want, incl. Gluten-free and dairy free options. The bar is fully stocked, and we enjoyed sitting in the little bar area planning our outings while Regis and his mom and dad attended to business, making us feel as part of the family. A highlight of our trip. Would highly recommend!

We stayed at the Hotel St Pierre quite by accident. Other accommodation had overbooked and cancelled at last minute. This hotel had one of the few rooms available at such short notice. It was one of the best strokes of luck on our whole trip. It was a delightful stay. Location was super, just a few steps from the main square with lots of restaurants. Everything about the hotel, the rooms, the service was meticulously and impeccably outfitted. Decorations were artistic and creative. Breakfast was 5 star! Local artisan products and delicacies. And of course, the best was the host. So kind and hospitable. Made us feel like we were family coming to visit at his home. All in all, one of the highlights of our trip. If you visit Saumur, you must stay at the Hotel St Pierre.

Gorgeous boutique hotel in a perfect location to enjoy Saumur. A delicious and beautifully presented breakfast with many organic and local produce options. Regis was very helpful with parking the car, recommending restaurants and sorting any question we had. We loved Chateau d’Azay Le Roseau that he recommended.. the perfect size and just like a fairy tale. Thank you for a wonderful stay.. highly recommend. Car parking is limited so do reserve well in advance. It is not guaranteed.

Nothing. However, Suggest you definitely book a larger room if you have lots of luggage. Our Double room was beautiful but it is cosy if you are travelling with 2 + large bags..

If you’re in Saumur centre then this is a hidden gem must stay. Really thoughtfully designed with an incredible eye for detail…everywhere you look has personality. Absolutely reflected in service and customer care. Regis is the perfect host. Breakfast was astonishing, even for the most considered tastes - bio everything available and very plentiful and delicious. We will be back, thank you!

Absolutely nothing!

This charming hotel is in the heart of beautiful Saumur, directly behind the cathedral of St. Pierre. It is a perfect location from which to explore the town. Immediately upon arrival we were greeted by the owner and shown to our lovely room, impeccably decorated and appointed with robes and amenities. Someone has designed this hotel with an eye to every nook and cranny. It is a gem! We were delighted with the bar, breakfast room and garden. Only rarely in one’s travels does one luck upon such a beautiful little hotel. We were able to walk to excellent restaurants for lunch and dinner each night. Parking is provided. Heaven!

It was perfect - nothing to say other than we loved it.

Beautifully appointed bedroom and shower room. Breakfast was lovely - yoghurts, breads, cheese, fruit and some gluten free bread for me (though would be better toasted!). Ate at Le Pot de Lapin (10 min walk) which was excellent and amongst the best meals we’ve had in a 2 week stay in France.

Not really a criticism but a learning experience for us and the proprietor: we asked if there was ev charging. Monsieur kindly moved his car to allow us to park and charge our car (7kw) overnight. Unfortunately, at some point in the early morning, it shut down, stopped charging and wouldn’t release our cable! Fortunately, as we ate our delicious breakfast, une magicienne (an engineer) turned up and fixed it, resetting it. She said the hotel had tripped a fuse and reset it. Hopefully Monsieur now knows what to do if the problem occurs again or he may just decide not to offer charging anymore!! Perhaps email ahead if it’s important, to check!
