An excellent one night stay with our two dogs. The room was beautiful and airconditioned. Very friendly and welcoming staff.

We rang the day before to book the restaurant but apparently you have to give 48hrs notice if you want dinner. Thats fine but no one told us that so we had to drive to a local restaurant about ten minutes away. When you're tired after a long journey with two dogs it would have been nice to stay put. The restaurant was lovely however on the banks of the river.

Love love this hotel. Wish we could have stayed longer. It's such a privilege to be able to stay in old family homes that have been kept to perfection. The bed was very comfortable, the breakfast was lovely and the staff are lovely. The home itself is stunning. If you want to be in a piece of French history then stay here. We stayed one night en route from Andorra to England. We are digital nomads and so wifi is important to us. The wifi was easy to connect to and fast. A good desk is provided in the room for working. The lounge is so beautiful, we enjoyed spending an evening in it playing games and relaxing. Parking is on site behind securely locked gates. The property is set in the French countryside so we had a very peaceful sleep. There are medieval villages surrounding the property so there is plenty to do and see in the area. We hope to be back.

everything was perfect

Our one-night stay was perfect! This place has incredible character and charm and beautiful. Axelle is a truly wonderful and friendly host. We immediately felt comfortable and at ease. The tranquillity and quiet were exactly what we needed for a restful night's sleep. Knowing our car was safely parked and secure gave us complete peace of mind. The breakfast provided was also lovely. Our only regret is that we didn't discover this gem sooner – we would have loved to stay longer! Highly recommended for a relaxing and memorable experience.

Absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous spaces and room. Beautiful property.

The location was quite far from montauban considering we had to drive back into town for dinner as we couldn’t get dinner there. Sadly this meant that because we could not check in until 5 pm and you have to check out quite early there is no real opportunity to enjoy the property — we had hoped to sit by the pool, relax and have a quiet evening without having to drive again after several hours in the car. HOWEVER — this is NOT a complaint as this property and the staff are exceptional and I would absolutely LOVE to stay here again — this time with a better plan for arranging a cold meal at the property so we didn’t have to drive again.

Everything! An all too brief stay in a beautiful manor. Pristine cleanliness, lovely swimming pool, superb breakfast. We had booked here as it worked in with our cycling trip of the canals. My husband had started to feel unwell so I telephoned to ask if we could arrive earlier than the accepted hour and was told that this was not a problem. I speak fairly good French, but was SO grateful for the proprietor’s help as his English is excellent and, the following morning he kindly arranged a doctor appointment, took us in his car, and arranged taxi transfer back to the Manor. ( for note to cyclists….Hugh was diagnosed with bronchial allergy to the pollen from the plane trees which line the canal bank! Our bikes were housed in building with electric plugs to recharge batteries…wonderful!) We therefore abandoned our cycle trip, but were able to leave our bikes securely for a few days till we revisited with our car to collect them) We could not have chosen a better place to fall ill! The Manor offers an evening platter of meats, cheeses etc as there are no restaurants in the immediate vicinity, and as we had bikes this was not practical. This is a place where total relaxation is assured in first class environment. Lovely staff.

The property is stunning and you can tell that a lot of love has been poured into it. Our room was very spacious, which was a real treat, the bed was comfy and it was all decorated well. The included breakfast was yummy and staff were very warm. Also yay for AC during the heatwave!

The provided shower gel bottle was empty in the shower and weirdly there was no mounting to hold the toilet paper in the bathroom so it was awkward to reach and get to on the floor.

Castel Bois Marie was a perfect stop off for us, driving back to the UK. The property is a beautiful old house with lovely gardens, perfect to unwind after a drive and great fun for our dog. Our room was incredibly comfortable with lovely big windows looking over the garden and a gorgeous bathroom. Initially we were disappointed that it wasn’t possible to have a proper supper there but it turned out to be a positive as Montauban is a beautiful town a ten minute drive away which is really worth a visit - a beautiful river, lots of lovely restaurants and a buzzing main square. We had dinner at Antoine which was fabulous (we were lucky to get the last table). Breakfast was delicious and served in a beautiful dining room - in warmer weather I imagine it would be on the terrace.

The check in time of 5pm is slightly restrictive as we had a better drive than expected so had to wait outside the gates of the property for a member of staff to start working. That said, the owner communicated well over the telephone to let us know the situation.

Axelle was so gracious and friendly. She took time to visit with us after a long day. She offered us a delicious snack and wine. The place is gorgeous and full of charm. We didn’t want to stay in a hotel chain. We wanted to stay in a more personal setting. This is a perfect place if you’re looking for quiet, beautiful place in the countryside. We highly recommend and hope to return soon!

This is the second time we have stayed here this year, and the standards on both occasions are of the highest quality. We stayed in the suite in the loft, which offered spectacular views. The rooms were very warm, extremely clean, modern, the beds were extremely comfortable. The location is easy to find.

We very much enjoyed our stay. We liked the cold breakfast, but would suggest having cooked eggs available would be a bonus.

The hotel and the grounds were beautiful, with grandeur interior with a modern twist. The rooms are great and spacious.

The breakfast lacked a few more staples like eggs for instance. Whilst this is advertised correctly, there are no restaurants or anything close to the hotel or in walking distance so you’ll need to drive quite a bit.
