Friendly staff, clean well appointed room in a convenient location with ample car parking

The small restaurant was overwhelmed by the number of clients wanting to eat on Sunday. We could not eat. Poor communication between the Abbey reception staff and Salvador restaurant staff did not help to alleviate the confusion and frustration. Bars were also closed in the Abbey due to staff shortages. I would expect hotels of this size and standard to be able to cater adequately. Also we felt the variety of the menu was limited

A lovely ambulance and decor was really really good. The staff were friendly.

We were awoken at 3 o’clock in the morning by the sound of the heating system, water pumping, and a very loud continuous noise coming from a vent in the bathroom. It was the worst nights sleep that we have ever had in any hotel in any part of the world on the positive side when we told the receptionist and she listened to a recording of the noise that I made they did make a small reduction in the bill. Essentially gave us breakfast. Saying that the breakfast was mediocre. I would not normally complain about anything in a hotel, but I felt I had to in this one because it was such a letdown and we had a very very busy day with no sleep.

We had booked a standard double room, however, it had a torn carpet , which I tripped on. We spoke to reception and they immediately up-graded us to a junior suite! This was a far nicer room with plenty of space, a sofa and a lovely en suite. Parking on site is free and plentiful. There is also a spa and swimming pool which we did not use. The Abbaye is within easy walking distance of the town and its bars and eateries, plus it has its own bar and restaurant which we used and liked.

We weren’t impressed with the standard double room we had been allocated, aside from the torn carpet, it was very dark and dull.(we also noticed that the room was re-issued to someone else and could see the tear in the carpet still there).

Interesting history attached to the property. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast. Parking options excellent… outside or underground. Great when you have a lot of stuff in the car. The young staff at both this hotel and its twin were absolutely superb, helping me out with a problem and going the extra mile. Good location to walk into the town for restaurants

The bedrooms were a bit dated and tired. The road at the front a little noisy so couldn’t sleep with windows open

It was open late. I appreciated being able to find and hotel last minute. I thought the bedroom I had was nice but it could have been anywhere on the world. I didn’t get to use the spa facilities as I was on and mission.

Il sure it was and beautiful building but as and designer I found it tacky and that they didn’t optimize the space. Some of it was downright ugly. Especially the entrance & lobby.

We liked the car parking garage, the rooms, the location and breakfast.

We did not like the restaurant in Dali. We would have preferred a restaurant to be located within the hotel rather than in the sister hotel. We did not eat at the hotel on our second and third nights. We did not enjoy the bar. We felt that the location of the bar could have been in a better place.

The location was great, a short walk into town. The Abbye is a beautiful historic building with convenient private parking. There is restaurant and bar on site. There was also a pool area with sun loungers. Perfect for an overnight stop albeit a bit pricey.

The room smelt stale. The extractor fan in the toilet was noisy. And toiletries for a four star spa hotel were distinctly lacking. There was only a dispenser for a generic shower gel/shampoo in the shower and by the bath.

Breakfast was good, albeit expensive., but there were plenty of choices of food and beverage. Room was comfortable and roomy. Nice to have the complimentary coffee and bottled water. Location excellent for exploring historic center. Very interesting building.

Had trouble adjusting room temperature and it took us a while to figure out the key card to activate the interior lights.

Absolutely loved our stay. Pool was immaculate and heated a bit so enjoyable even when raining (kids insisted!) breakfast was soooo good. High quality foods and plenty of choice. Beds were crazy comfy with a vast selection of pillows. Shower was divine and soap provided was nice on my skin. Staff so lovely - didn’t mind at all we checked in late allowing us to drive while our kids were sleeping. Highly recommend and will be back.

I think check-in at 4p.m is way too late. In other establishments, the norm is 3.00p.m. We arrived at 3.30p.m. and were left to wait and in the meantime the staff forgot all about us and when I went to ask for the key, after 4pm. could not even remember that we had already completed the check-in procedure except the delivery of the key.
