Beautiful location and stunning, well-maintained and nicely decorated and appointed main house and three cabins in the grounds. Modern, light facilities, very friendly and efficient management and welcome from Cécile. Breakfast was plentiful and we were lucky to have excellent weather to eat on the terrasse of our wooden cabin (nicely furnished, comfortable bed, immaculately clean). We also pre-reserved a dinner basket with half a bottle of champagne, salads, bread, rillettes, cheese and dessert. Wonderful picnic! The views from the house and the cabins are stunning and peaceful. A real break.

Nothing.

We stayed in the chalet with 2 beds upstairs. It was well kitted out and provided a very relaxing 2 days on our journey through France. The breakfast and basket dinner were delicious and delivered to our Châlet. We also enjoyed the pool and general quietness of the stay. I think it would be possibly better with younger children as our nearly adult boys found the beds and sloping ceilings less comfortable and there was only one comfortable chair to sit in on the decking but for 2 nights this wasn’t a big issue (there was a 4 poster bed to lounge on in the gardens!) and overall we had a lovely stay and drinking champagne watching the sunset was perfect.

Montmirail had little to offer for eating out. It was August so a few places were closed and we didn’t want to picnic for 2 days. There was literally nowhere for an evening meal on Tuesday so we got a takeaway pizza. I think you can book some amazing places in advance but they are about 20-30 mins drive.

The peaceful setting is perfect for relaxation. The whole property and gites are decorated to a high standard and smell AMAZING - like a spa but better. Breakfast is exceptional, we didn’t try the lunch or dinner options but I’m sure they would have been equally good. The pool is comfortably heated and in a beautiful setting. We were made to feel welcome by the lovely host and despite the luxurious vibe didn’t feel like we were out of place or a nuisance as a family with lively children. Everything was great and I would 100% return and recommend to friends.

The ONLY negative is the later check in time of 5pm - we would have loved an extra hour or two at this stunning property. When staying one night you don’t get a huge amount of time to enjoy there, however I’d wouldn’t stop me from returning!

Cecile’s property was absolutely fantastic! After a long drive to turn up here and be able to swim in such a beautiful setting was wonderful. The grounds are beautifully kept and we loved everything about it. We stayed with our two children who thoroughly enjoyed staying in the Teepee. We had beautiful views of the countryside and the Teepee was spotlessly clean and very well thought out. Breakfast was delicious and we could order a bottle of champagne by the pool each evening. We would definitely return and recommend this property to anyone who wanted a relaxing and luxurious stay in the Champagne region.

Location in Champagne close to prominent vineyards is really great. The house is nicely renovated with a lovely old world charm. The weather was cool, so didn’t dip in the pool, but it seemed nice.

From the pictures expected a bigger property and a lush garden but the garden grounds is simply a short garden path leading to cabin accommodation. Also, the very limited check-in times are difficult to work around. If you come for one day only, almost impossible to enjoy the pool.

We loved everything about our stay in Montmirail. From the beautifully restored chateau, the panoramic views, the gardens, the pool, the peace and tranquility. The host and her family were warm and welcoming and despite our language barriers, we could make ourselves understood. The breakfast was superb, without doubt, one of the best I have had in accommodation like this. Weloved the open air pool which after a long drive was a welcome relax. The rooms are exceptional, cool, comfortable, tastefully decorated and with all the modern conveniences. Subtle touches everywhere you turn. Simply exquisite.

Having to leave after such a wonderful stay.

Cécile was very welcoming, and very quickly responded to our messages before we arrived. If you only speak English, no problem! Beautifully decorated room, very comfortable high quality bed, linen and towels, nice amenities and toiletries in the room. Free secure parking, stunning views. The dinner ‘basket’ with champagne, Greek salad, cheese, chips, and two kinds of rillets, plus a yummy dessert was perfect! Great breakfast with eggs and bacon offered on top of the continental. They also have three very unique accommodations, the Dome, Cabane and Tipi… next time we will definitely try one of those! Merci beaucoup for a lovely stay!

Nothing! Everything was perfect!

The property was wonderful (we stayed in the wooden tipi) and the host Cecile was helpful and accommodating. We felt relaxed in the beautiful property which was clean and well decorated. The veranda was perfect for sitting out on in the evening and watching a starry sky. In the morning Cecile bought us the most wonderful breakfast basket of pastries, juice, fruit, yoghurts, jams and even scrambled egg and bacon (all delivered at a time of our choice). We bought a bottle of the families self-produced champagne (very reasonably priced) and it was so lovely we bought a second bottle to take home. An excellent stay and we hope to return for longer soon!

We stayed in the dome. Beautiful views and privacy. It is located in a beautiful garden. The host was very helpful and recommended champagne tours nearby which were great. We ordered dinner in the room which was also great!

The outside area could be upgraded with more comfortable chairs to enjoy the outside seating better. The bathroom/ toilet is separated from the bedroom only with a curtain, which was fine for one night, but would not be comfortable for a longer stay. But overall a very pleasant experience!

Great stay, a location with a big history and room is decorated to create a beautiful ambiance with a lot of authentic details. very clean, very comfortable. Beautiful garden/park around the location including a nice swimming pool, allowing you to swim against the current. Breakfast was superb, Cécile made us feel very welcome and was very supportive.

The town has not much to offer, but if you are looking for a quiet stay, you have the right address
