Superb small hotel situated right by the river Loue at Ornans in the French Jura. Our room enjoyed a balcony with small table and chairs. The room we had was finished to a high standard and was simply lovely. We ate breakfast here and for €7.50 we got coffee, orange juice, pure apple juice from the region, hot croissants/pain chocolat, local cheeses, ham and baguette. There were home made jams available too. We also ate dinner and ate outside. The menu availability is limited but we chose to go for the house special of fillet of beef with sauce morrilles which came with French fries, salad and a salsa or couscous. It was delicious and was washed down with a pichet of red Cote Du Rhône. I would love to go back to the place as it is so good! Ornans itsel and the surrounding countryside are beautiful places to explore. Source de Lison, and Grotte Sarazine are well worth checking out if you like a short walk!

The property lacks parking space. That said, there is free parking nearby in the square, but you need to get a blue card parking dial from the nearby Tourist Information office before parking there. There is a big free car park on the hill above the Tourist Office. I was slightly concerned about security, as I had a car roof bag but I experienced no problem on that score. If you are a motorcyclist, you can park your bike in the hotel grounds. The bells, the bells! There is a beautiful church just across the river from the hotel. Be aware it chimes the hour right through the night and also chimes each 15 minutes! Some ear plugs might be useful!

Beautiful view of the river and the historic part of the city from the terrace. Modern and well furnished apartment. Very quiet place. Good breakfast.

The location was great, the balcony outside our room so we could sit and have a drink and the room was very good too.
