We found this place by accident a couple of years ago when we were in need of last minute accommodations.We have been back several times since then. It has become our go-to for these reasons: (1) Location - The hotel is in a neighborhood that doesn't feel 'touristy.' It is tucked away just off the beautiful tree-lined street. There's a fantastic cafe right in front of the main door. and plenty of excellent restaurants just down the hill. This area is quiet at night. (2) Transportation - It's just a short walk to the Lamarck stop on the #12 metro line. Just up the hill from Abbesses. The #80 bus stops at the front door. Plenty of transportation options to get you to the museums and sights of Paris. (3) Staff - We have seen many of the same faces over the past few years. Everyone there is very friendly and helpful. The rooms and common areas are very clean. (4) Breakfast - We don't always take advantage of this option, but sometimes it's nice to start the morning with a coffee and croissant in the breakfast room. They also offer cold cereal, yogurt, fruit, juice and a variety of teas. (5) Budget friendly - This is primarily a hostel, so there are plenty of budget friendly options for solo travelers. We opt to book one of the private rooms with a private bath. The furnishings are minimal, the beds are comfy and the bathroom shower has both handheld and overhead sprayers. The rooms have hard surface floors (which feel so much cleaner than carpet). We tend to travel light, and we appreciate having a clean and comfortable space to relax.

There aren't many negatives with this place. If you're not ok with climbing stairs, then be aware there's no elevator. This can be difficult if you're traveling with large bags. Our room was on the top (4th) floor. A few more towel hooks in the bathroom would be appreciated by travelers.

The location was absolutely magnificent, in a local Montmartre neighborhood away from tourist craziness and yet close enough to everything. There were a couple of brasseries and cafes a stone's throw away that were absolute perfections, specifically Chez Ginette and Cafe Mignon. The building was cute and well kept and very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Make sure to bring earplugs, as this is an old building with thinner walls, and people coming and going until around midnight. But it wasn't too bad and everyone was respectful. The breakfast was a croissant and small baguette with orange juice and coffee and an option for some cereals. It was adequate but no options for protein.

The free breakfast included orange juice, coffee, roll with butter and jam, croissant and cereal. The window opened, allowing some cooler air into the room. It was good being in a 3-bed dorm with a bathroom/shower, and another bathroom in the hallway. The location is very convenient for metro, laundry and of course Basilica Sacre Coeur. Its price is a great value for Paris. I had no problem coming back to the hostel when I was tired or had to use the bathroom. Paris can be very tiring, this place helps you to rest but without paying a lot.

I don't think it was the property's fault but it looked like my roommate kept stealing the soap away from the bathroom and putting it I don't know where. Very puzzling. I was given a room in the very bottom so I had a long way down to my room, just a minor point, but for the price not so bad.

we felt very safe in the neighbourhood and had a lovely stay! the staff is helpful and you can always ask them for help if needed (for example, one day my mom had terrible back pains, and the receptionist gave her some pain relief tablets). the breakfast is alright, more than enough for the start of the day - it’s similar to an Italian breakfast. otherwise, if you’re following Google Maps from Guy Môquet station, you have to climb a lot of stairs to reach the hostel, but bear in mind that this is only a single option that the app offers - it’s also possible and just as easy to reach the location without being out of breath. :-).

some of the guests are really loud and disrespectful in the dead of night, and since the walls are thin, you can hear them yelling around.

I liked the cleanliness of the entire facility, and staff cleaned out the trash every day. The faculty was nice and friendly. The beds were pretty comfy and the temperature inside was nice. The showers were hot which was necessary because it was cold outside during my stay. The neighborhood though was my favorite! Beautiful and surrounding so many quaint shops and restaurants, only a 13 minute walk from Sacre-Coeur, and very short walks to public transportation.

The breakfast could be a lot better, it was basically just bread, cereals, and hot beverages. I got up early one day to enjoy the free breakfast but it was the food that you could find there all day (although free croissants all day are great). The shower in my room had a clogged pipe problem so I found myself using other bathrooms in the facility. This is minor but all the doors definitely need oiling, they creaked a lot which was not great when sharing the room with strangers.

This hostel was such a gem of a find! The location was absolutely gorgeous and felt really safe and secure especially for two young women travelling alone! The room was perfect for what we needed and the communal spaces were so handy especially when we wanted a ready meal one night before going out.

The room was a little unclean- on first glance fine but the closer we looked we found sticky tabs and hooks on the wall from where a decorations had clearly been. There was also some black mold in one corner of the room. But overall everything was great and I am just being nit picky- nothing of genuine concern.

Best hostel I've stayed in so far in my solo travels. I stayed in the three bed male dorm. It was clean, comfortable and quiet. A great location which was literally a one minute walk to the bus stop (number 80 bus) and a 6 minute walk to the nearest Metro station (Lamarck Caulaincourt) Which was very handy for me as I relied on public transport for my whole stay. Great location for exploring Paris. Staff were friendly and approachable and did all they could to make my stay a good one. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. Breakfast, whilst not a huge choice it was adequate and I could have as much as I wanted.

There wasn't anything I didn't like.

- great location next to the metro and close to Place du Tertre etc., very easy to find - simple, but comfortable beds - newly rennovated bathroom - I booked last-minute and chose a three person shared room, but was alone the whole time, so, for me, value for money was through the roof - baggage room is pretty well located and kept safe

- my room was quite small for a shared room, so I'm very lucky to have had my own room - the breakfast period is on the short side - the room was not necessarily dirty, but the cobwebs, dust, etc. should be checked and removes more often - while the sound isolation was better than expected, the piping could be heard a lot, and the smell from the bathroom was not great - my room was in a high basement, so my window looked directly into a yard/park which was not in a great state ans I didn't want to open my window because I did read about the mice and bugs, so maybe some window protection might be nice - the WiFi could be better

Good location, near the metro and bars/restaurants in the area. Room was small but spacious enough for a city break. Hostel was well kept and modern. Free breakfast was a nice touch. Overall, excellent value for Paris.

We had a shared bathroom, it seemed there was only one per floor so would be good to have some additional options. Shower in the room was cold and didnt work too well but the shared shower was good. Not an issue for us, but to note there are a lot of stairs around the area so may not be suitable for those with mobility issues.

I liked the area a little far from center but only a few minutes walk from metro station and from there you can basically go anywhere in town. I didn’t leave till the afternoon and the staff was very friendly and stored my bag till later in the day after checking out. I would stay here again for sure.

Breakfast was a little slim even for European standards with only a couple choices but it was included in my price I paid so can’t complain too much. I had a private room with toilet and shower and it meet my needs but I sure can’t get used to how small they are.
