Lovely old chateau with large rooms and loads of character, located away from other properties in countryside. Vincent greeted us and was around throughout our stay. Large bedroom with en suite bathroom. Communal breakfast each morning from 08:30 sitting with the other guests. Tea/coffee making facilities in communal lounge area plus a kitchen with fridge, microwave and hot plate, plus mugs, beer & wine glasses, plates and cutlery.

Limited number of restaurants in the local area so need to plan ahead as only local option open that others found was a pizzeria

We had breakfast outside on the terrace on a large table with the other guests, which was very sociable (french is the lingua franca). There was plenty of food: cereals, cheeses, pancakes, home made bread, jams etc, yogourt and fruit; tea & coffee. Owing to the fact that the property is several kilometres from the nearest restaurant, we were pleased that evening meals were availble on site. Mon/Wed/Fri there was delicious Table d'hote: three course meals (made with local produce) actually: appetiser, starter, main course, cheeses, desert and coffee) made from local produce and served with local wine (if you choose: we did!). I am vegetarian (my friends aren't), which was a learning curve for the hosts; we managed, but french food is quite meaty. You can have salad and cheeses on tues/thurs; all very reasonably priced. It was very hot and chateaux are wonderfully cool. The swimming pool is lovely, and the garden nearby is shady. The whole estate is quite roomy; you never feel crowded. The wi-fi is surprisingly excellent! Our hosts were kind and considerate, especially as one of our party is disabled.

We could have done with two pillows each as standard. The towels, although adequate, could have been thicker. We booked a family suite as it said there were three bedrooms, but this proved to be curtained off areas rather than rooms with doors, which is ok for children, but we were adults (luckily we know each other very well). Our fault maybe for not checking. Sadly one of our party couldn't come; she would have found the living arrangements a challenge.

Our stay with Vincent and Tyra was perfect and we fell in love with the chateau. Our dinners were impeccable and our family apartment was ideal for a family of five. Huge thanks!

It’s in a lovely, peaceful setting. The château has so much history and character. We had a large, family suite with a huge bathroom all beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The hosts were very welcoming and breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The swimming pool was an added bonus with the warm weather.

When I set the filters on the search it was for a hotel with a restaurant. The Chateau does food on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We visited on a Tuesday. We were looking forward to a destination hotel we had a large room with 5 beds and skylights and used the shared kitchen to warm our food from the supermarket. I can’t blame the hotel for this, if anything it’s booking.coms filters.
