The property is a large 19th century house and the rooms are very good with modern bathrooms. Breakfast was outdoors - limited pastries, homemade jams and coffee/tea. It’s only a five minute stroll to the heart of town, and there’s free parking next door on the school lot. Altogether a very good experience except for lack of air conditioning.

our only problem was that we visited Brantôme in a heatwave (38°/40°) and the room was stifling with no air conditioning available - a fan didn’t really make much difference. We know that air conditioning is part of a bigger issue with government policy but with global warming, hotels must be able to offer AC in the hottest months.

Beautiful building, well situated in Brantome. Stephanie and Pascal, were friendly, helpful, excellent hosts. Although they spoke excellent English, they were kindly tolerant of our sometimes not entirely functional French. The wifi worked well, the bed was comfy, and the breakfasts, which included every day something that Stephanie had baked or prepared, were quite tasty. Since it was cold and rainy, we didn't spend time in the garden, but it is easy to imagine that it would be lovely in summer. Also, two excellent restaurants we enjoyed, both within walking distance were Au Fil de Temps and Le Jardin des Chouchoux, the former doing an excellent job with classics like Magret de Canard, the latter having some fine, interesting and more modern cuisine, albeit based on local ingredients.

The friendliness of our reception and nothing was too much trouble for Stephanie. She went out of her way to prepare breakfasts for us, to suit our special requirements i.e. vegetarian and low carb diet. An easy walk into the beautiful town and a comfortable and peaceful room to return to. We would happily stay here again.

Everything was great. Lovely French house with nice bedrooms and bathroom. Good location, short walk into centre of Brantome. Lovely breakfast served at a time to suit.

Only being able to check in between 5.00pm and 7.00pm. I didn't see this mentioned on the website before booking.

The breakfast was delicious. Local honey on French bread alongside homemade apple crumble was an excellent way to start the day!

The bedroom was very comfortable but quite dusty and the radiator didn't seem to be working, so had the weather been cooler I think we would have felt a bit chilly.

Typical quaint French building with loads of character. Large bedroom was just right for the two of us. Served a lovely breakfast and able to chat to other guests.

Personally the beds were too soft for my liking and the overhead shower didn’t work properly.

Lovely stay, welcoming hosts, perfect location to walk to markets, abbey etc. The best part was that our host made us feel right at home, so friendly and happy to share this lovely home! Plenty of free on street parking too! A lovely town and comfortable stay!

Lovely period French town house in great location for visiting the historic centre of Brantôme. House and our room decorated in the style of the period with some nice modern touches like bedside reading lights and a mobile cooling fan. A good inclusive, traditional French breakfast .

It’s a lovely old French home, beautifully decorated. Bed was very comfortable, breakfast quite nice, Stephanie is kind and helpful, location excellent for exploring Brantôme.

Our garden view was slightly marred by something covered in an old tarp but it’s very leafy and pretty. And the windows are wonderful!
