Not having air con but there is a portable fan, The bugs that come into the room if you have the window open. The windows were dirty so I cleaned mine so I could see the sky. The constant sound of hoovering/cleaning but I completely understand the need for cleanliness. The slippery surface around the pool when it’s wet. People around you in your room who are not noise conscious.

The hotel is perfectly situated just around the corner from the harbour. It has a pool, but there isn't a large pool deck so moving around was a little awkward. There is safe parking on site, although this has to be booked in advance.

There was no air conditioning which given the canicule had sleeping at night difficult. I was confused as to house keeeping. We had three nights there and the staff didn't come into the room once. There was a fire alarm in the middle of the night and yet to get out of the main entrance, guests still had to press a button to open the door.

Excellent location, quiet despite being close to the harbour, reasonably priced on site parking. Given the premium price of accommodation in St Martin-de- Re & the limits a small harbour town has on property size, this hotel is a good option

Peak season premium price. Narrow poolside area. Second floor rooms have a view over the harbour wall; the view is more limited on the lower floors. No on site bar for eveinng drinks although plenty of choices withina few minutes walk

Our room was cleaned scrupulously. Breakfast choices were comprehensive and well-chosen with an emphasis on local produce. The location was ideal, within easy reach of the restaurants around the harbour, walks along the coast (especially to La Cible). The local free navette service stop was nearby.

The tiles round the swimming pool were slippery. Two guests had falls while we were there; one appeared to be serious. We both nearly had falls.

Superb location directly by the port with easy access to bars and restaurants, ideal for exploring the whole island. Room was very comfortable and quiet. Shower was very good. They supplied a bed for our dog. Breakfast room is very pretty with good views; it was end of Feb, so we eat inside but there is a good terrace/courtyard where you can eat at other times of year. Breakfast spread was good with fresh cooked eggs available if you wish (perhaps a little pricey at 18 euro per person, but the hotel room rate was good.

Hotel le Galion was a very comfortable small hotel with very nice amenities and services and a great staff. The reception desk clerk when we checked in a helpful with restaurant recommendations, the optional “express” breakfast each morning was perfect for our needs, though if we had wanted more they also offered a complete brunch. The english speaking breakfast hosts were very welcoming and friendly. An exceptional service offered by the hotel was express laundry. The reception staff member washed, dried, and carefully folded a bag of our laundry for only 15 euros! We took it to her before breakfast and it was ready to wear or pack again barely 2 hours later. Due to the weather we did not use the beautiful pool area, but did take advantage of reading in the evening in the comfortable lounge area off the breakfast room.

We liked everything.

Location is perfect right by the marina. The hotel underground parking was a big plus and very secure as we had our own car and rented some bikes during the trip. The pool is a nice addition and very well maintained.

The cleanliness of the room was the only minor issue during our stay. Damp smell in the room on arrival and the bed cushions and throw clearly hadn’t been washed or cleaned in a while. The bed linen and pillow cases were clean though. Other than that it was a very pleasant stay, would recommend and would definitely return.

The location of the hotel was excellent. Right by the main port but just tucked around the corner overlooking the gardens near the lighthouse. The breakfast was excellent - lots of self serve buffet choice . Beautiful breakfast room

It was a shame that we weren’t allowed to use the pool. It was one of the reasons we booked this hotel and we wouldn’t have minded the cold water as we live by the sea in Dorset Uk. The night porter said it would be available to use but the day staff said no. That was a disappointment to me.

Staff were so helpful and accommodating. Rooms clean and comfortable. A lovely terrace area for breakfast well worth the experience. Pool was great. Very quiet but only a few steps away from the bustling area of St.Martin with its many restaurants and shops . Nice area to walk around just in front of the hotel, sunset and sunrise visible and very beautiful.

Having a drink by the pool was very enjoyable but we would have liked availability of snacks too.

The location and style of the property are excellent, right at the entrance to the town and port- with parking!

We arrived on one of those hot spells this summer so the lack of air conditioning was a challenge but they did have an extra fan so that helped out and we had all the windows and doors open. The breakfast was good but the baked goods were commercial- not what I would expect for this price.
