Our stay began with a surprise when Jean-Yves met our bus and pointed out restaurants and landmarks as he drove us to his chalet, even though the walk was short and level. The room was lovely, clean, and quiet. Better still, it had an unbelievably large and comfortable private terrace/balcony. Our hosts were outstanding, providing excellent hiking suggestions, bus information, and a cork screw (TSA confiscated ours) to open our wine and added wine glasses so “the wine would taste better.” Breakfast was traditional French with excellent rolls, yogurt, cheese, jams, juice, coffee and tea, and mini croissants. We enjoyed our conversations with our hosts as well. I couldn’t recommend their place more highly. If we return to Samoëns, we absolutely will stay with them again.

nothing much not to like to be honest. the room is rustic but well accompanied with mod cons, a good shower and bathroom, comfortable bed, and glorious view from the window. The location is vey handy for the town (which in itself is beautiful) and the host, Jean-Yves could not be more accommodating and helpful, always available on chat if needed. thoroughly recommended

Very spacious bedroom and living room-like area, as well as separate bathroom and toilet. The location was amazing with great views of the surrounding mountains. Located in a quiet area with easy access by car and possibility to park it right at the accommodation. The host was very friendly, communicative, and helpful. Totally recommended for anyone visiting Samoens and surroundings.

Nothing remarkable, everything was to our liking

An amazing property in a fantastic location, right on the doorstep of the slopes and a selection of beautiful bars and restaurants in town. Jean-Yves was a wonderful host and provided a fantastic fresh breakfast every day. He spent a lot of time with us on our arrival to talk about Samoëns, the skiing, and the best local restaurants.

Host was very friendly and helpful. Lovely fresh bread and croissants for breakfast. Room was very warm and comfortable, plenty of hot water. Typical Alpine vibe, but tastefully done. Huge balcony with comfy chairs for sitting out and looking at the mountains. Kettle and tea provided, which is unusual in France but much appreciated! Ski bus literally outside the chalet - first bus got us to the main lift up to the resort within a few minutes, just after it had opened. Very short walk into the town centre for restaurants and shops. It was very busy the weekend we arrived and many of the restaurants were fully booked - there are a couple which are walk-up only but I recommend booking somewhere for your first night in advance in high season! The host was helpful in offering suggestions of where to go.

A name sign on the door would be helpful as it was a little difficult to be sure we had found the right address. Other small improvements would be a lock/catch inside the toilet door, also a door or curtain to the basin/shower room. These are small things though that would not stop me staying there again which I offer to our lovely host in the spirit of improvement rather than criticism. Je vous souhaite bonne sante Jean-Yves!

Jean-Yvres was a fantastic host,, so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Lovely traditional chalet accommodation, short walk to the village centre and easy access to the mountains.

Very cute and comfortable chalet, very authentic and at walking distance from the centre of Samoëns. Jean Yves is such a pleasure, incredibly welcoming and warm he gives the chalet its heart and charm

It was quaint, really lovely, convenient and very Savoyard. The host was excellent and very engaging - he was just lovely. I would really stay here again and very good value.

I liked it all

Quiet, clean and charming place! The bed was very comfortable and it’s in an excellent location, less than 5 min walk into the city center. The host is extremely welcoming and friendly and provided us with helpful information about hiking and where to eat. I highly recommend this place and would stay here again!

Nice bedroom in a nice chalet. The owner is very nice, is a local and knows everything about the area of Samoens The chalet is very quiet but close to the village center (walking distance) The breakfast is generous, typical french
