Location is great, right next to Place d’Armes and perfect for getting around the city on foot. Reception Manager was very welcoming and friendly and overall the hotel is very good value. The breakfast is fantastic - lots of choice and we loved the fresh orange juice, choice of Palais Des Thés and fresh breads. Mattress was firm and comfortable. Had a great sleep - hotel soundproofing is excellent. It was our third stay in this hotel and we would stay again (we have previously stayed in a 5* hotel in Valenciennes and it was soulless and not friendly so we would prefer Mercure anytime).

There was only one mug in the room which wasn’t changed for a clean one when the room was serviced (there were two of us so we shared the mug!) No glasses supplied and no water in the room but there is a fridge. There is water in the lobby. We had to bring the dirty mug to reception and ask for a clean one. Also towels are very thin.

Room was huge, very modern, fab bathroom. Bed was very comfortable. Man who checked us in was very helpful and friendly. Good location.

No parking (which we knew about) but it wouldn't put us off going back there. We were able to park in street outside and there is parking next door in shopping centre. Room layout a bit odd with separate toilet located at entrance of room.

Great location. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. You can open a sliding door so nice to get fresh air in the room at night and not get woken up with noise. The downstairs restaurant and cafe area at the entrance are modern and clean. I was able to work here for a couple of hours after check out. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Very friendly reception. Very nice design hotel. Beautiful room. It doesn’t get more central right next to the main square and the mall (Valenciennes is not a huge city after all) …. 5 points (google) which I give never easily

Not much really … parking was easy but you have to call them to ask for how it works . It’s not obvious as it’s a public garage of the mall next door .

Good size room and shower room. Easy parking outside.a convenient place to stop enroute to Bruges..

The temperature. Chose the mercure over other options because it said it had air conditioning, but it didn't work and the thermostat seemed determined to maintain a temperature of 25 - 26 degrees C! Leading to a very uncomfortable and restless night.

Good hotel in down-town Valenciennes. I stayed here for business purposes. Room was clean, well equipped and spacious. Breakfast was good, lots to choose from. Can recommend to anyone staying in the area.

Room, separate toilet, blackout curtains, lots of charging points, free refillable water

I got lost looking for water, the sign said it was available in the 'Lobby' it wasn't it was available in the 'Bar' I spent an irritating 5 minutes looking for the Lobby. The hotel doesn't have one!

Checkin was quick and easy with parking under the hotel (you can pay for parking at reception or at the machine when you leave, not sure if there is a benefit). The rooms were very spacious and clean. Breakfast was very normal for a French hotel.

The price seemed a little high considering the location but I feel they are cashing in on the large businesses around the area.

Great location with really friendly and helpful staff (let us leave the kids bikes in a conference room so that we could park in the underground secure parking around the corner). Perfect for a stopover back up to Calais and to explore Valenciennes!

Cozy beds, nice breakfast.

It is good that bathroom and toilet sections are separated, but no hand wash is possible in the toilet section. It is a little inconvenient at night.
