Exceptional dining in charming surroundings. Several generations of the same family have run this well established hotel. Such a good location : within easy reach of nearby Cahors ( wine, shops, historic buildings) and interesting trips both East or West along the river valleys. The scenery is stunning! The pretty village of Vers is itself worth exploration. The entire staff team are friendly and welcoming. There is an outdoor pool and a lovely terrace - so a summer visit here would be fun. Also a spa - all these facilities are available for guests - we have yet to enjoy them!

Ideally situated in the area not far from Cahors. Dinner good and breakfast also.Spa was nicely done and masseuse excellent. Staff very pleasant and very family run. Lovely river location.

We didn't like having to pay extra for towels to use by the pool, although one could take the rather threadbare ones from the room. So we when I asked for big fluffy pool towels none were avaliable so they gave me another small room one at a huge discount of €1.50! Not acceptable for a spa hotel.

We were kindly given a more accessible room. Room had balcony and view up and down the Vers river. Standard of service from staff excellent Self serve breakfast to meet all tastes. Great base for exploring the Lot.

The restaurant had very pleasant ambiance but we would have liked more lighter options, as well as the traditional dishes which we enjoyed but did not want to eat throughout our stay.

Excellent location, property was amazing with perfect views. Staff were welcoming and attentive. The pool and spa were just perfection considering they are included in the room price. Food was excellent and not too pricey for its quality.

Slow service at dinner 2 nights running, 3rd night I ate out. Breakfast was disappointing, not much left and wasn’t replaced even though still 30mins until end of service.

Family run. The location being close to two rivers and a petanque area was lovely. The food was excellent, the best. Room was brilliant. Note for other guests to check in at the cafe, not the restaurant! We missed the sign. Now I hope we can still get a reservation another time after such a good review. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Amazing location. Plenty of parking. Great restaurant with good selection of local produce. Comfortable bed. Spa essentials included in room tariff.

The drive in was challenging through very narrow roads (but well worth it!).

Everything was perfect , the lady at the reception instantly made you feel welcome. I have travelled around the world and not many people have that unique talent . Quite frankly , don’t understand why this is a 3 star hotel only , very much deserving 4 stars

The birdshit coming down from the sky , but nothing else , really

La Truite Dorée is just a great place to stay to explore the area around Cahors, Cirq la Popie and Figeac, as well as activities on and around the Lot river, or caves. The staff are all exceptionally friendly, the room was clean and quiet and the restaurant is very good. In this part of France, where it is really not easy to find dishes without meat, the restaurant has a somewhat larger selection for fish and vegetarian options. We felt it was great value for money.

Nothing really

Beautiful setting, comfy bed, good shower. We had the studio and a beautiful view of the river. Also we did the half board and it was wonderful food with lots of choices.

The spa towels cost extra, which is strange. I think if you are staying you should receive a spa towel in your room, much easier than going to reception. Also, hot tub was warm not hot.

Spotlessly clean, extremely well-run logis in a very picturesque setting. It has a fabulous pool with plenty of sun lounges and umbrellas as well as a very modern and sophisticated spa and treatment centre. Ample continental breakfast and a really high quality restaurant open for lunch and dinner. Pre-dinner drinks are served in a lovely outdoor area under the trees. There is also ample parking and it is very dog friendly. As if this isn’t enough, it is the staff that really makes this logis so special. They are ALL delightful - professional, efficient, helpful and polite. One young Asian woman (apologies for not remembering her name) was particularly memorable for her enthusiasm and friendliness. She is the hotel’s greatest asset because of her ability to radiate such a positive uplifting vibe. We shall definitely return.
