It is next door to the Conti Hotel and you have to sign into Ferrotel, both are SORAT group. This was not explained to us and we really needed a substantial breakfast, not a grab and go as offered by Ferrotal, so we switched our reservation to the Conti with the aid of the excellent receptionist, Mel. Thanks to her we got a good night’s sleep after a long day travelling.

The rooms were great, the only thing lacking is the in room provision of tea and coffee making facilities

All in all very pleasant overnight stay in Duisburg, walking distance from the central station and restaurants and cafes, but in a quiet street. Our rooms were spotless clean, spacious, with comfortable beds and everything else we needed for an overnight stay. You need to know that the reception is only in a partner hotel across the street, but the reception lady was very friendly and walked us over to Ferrotel to show and explain everything directly in our building. A mini-breakfast (a croissant, an apple and a hot drink: coffee/tea) was included and we treated it as a bonus to get us going in the morning. It is definitely not a full buffet breakfast.

We are a family of 4 with 2 kids and needed to book 2 double rooms (there was no more availability for family rooms anywhere near Duisburg train station). I obviously asked for a neighboring rooms, we got the same floor, but not really neighboring. We could have got 2 rooms just facing each other but instead we had to run back and forth the whole corridor. When traveling with kids this is crucial.

The place was quiet, airconditioning a major plus

The reception door could not be opened from outside which was weird, staff standing behind the reception desk. Bottle caps were found from the room's floor. The housekeeping entered the room at 9:45 in the morning on the day we were leaving which was again weird.

Good location close to the city centre and about 10-15 minutes walk from the station. Modern styled accommodation with a nod to the city's industrial past. The staff at the sister hotel (where reception is) were helpful and friendly.

The 'grab and go' breakfast included in the price was very basic and the full buffet breakfast at the sister hotel a little expensive.

Location was great, walkable distance 15mins from central station. We got upgraded to extra big room without no additional fees. The Grab and Go breakfast included in the price was also very good. There was a ventilator in the room too.

I would wish for thinner bed sheets during the summer, since still the heavy winter sheets are being used.

Very helpful 24-hour reception across the road. Basic but fine for a solo traveller. Grab-and-go breakfast was very useful.

Too hot inside the duvet, too cold out of it - but I never get the hang of duvets!

Earlier information that the key was to be collected at the nearby partner Hotel Conti (1 min away) would have been good. However, this was a very minor issue. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful. Very nice and clean place to stay overall.
