I went to Duisburg for a cycling event and the hotel provided the perfect accommodation for the occasion. The twin room was spacious and good value for the price. The breakfast was rather nice too, and I appreciated the fresh eggs. The restaurant Balkanhof is conveniently located next door. It was also great to have a parking spot right outside the hotel, and I highly appreciated the fact that the staff allowed me to clean the bike (it had been a wet day) using the hose next to the building. We could safely store the bikes in a room downstairs, which was also a plus.

I would personally remove the huge TV from the breakfast room, it really spoils the atmosphere.

Hotel Lonac is probably the best managed hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The owner is more than accommodating, even carrying our bicycles down a flight of stairs to a secure room. The A/C in the first room we were assigned did not work properly so he immediately switched us, with no problem. Breakfast was excellent with scrambled eggs made to order and equally fresh fruit salad…in addition to many other items. If I’m ever in the vicinity I would not consider staying anywhere else.

The breakfast was pretty simple. Nothing fancy, scrambled eggs done based on order. Not much of vegetables choice, but good overall. The hotel was very quiet even you can hear the train time to time.

Not much, probably only that there was just 1 chair in our 2 bed room to sit on. Might not be enough place to put another one though.

Staff was very helpfull and friendly. The breakfast buffet had enough variety, they also offered to make some eggs if desired. Breakfast is available from 06:00 till 10:00; There are parking places near the hotel, although those might get filled up. Very good location : only a few steps from the public transport, and 2 restaurants are very close to the premises.

Small, friendly hotel. Parking directly outside. Rooms are medium sized. Kettle wuth various teas and coffee in the room. Comfortable bed. 2 chairs, which seems to be unusual these days. Friendly staff. Good buffet breakfast with an option of cooked eggs. For an evening meal Balkanhof recommended which is just across the car park. Make sure to book a table. Very busy.

Super tidy and clean, rooms are comfortable. Personnel is kind and available. I would only recommend to get rid of those small plastic bottles provided for soap/shampoo and use instead wall-mounted dispenser. This is just a suggestion for improving the sustainability.

Had issue with WiFi, it stopped working at a certain point during the evening and I could not use it anymore.

The location was great. The local pizza place (Bella Huckingen) is great value with the best pizza I've ever had. There was also a market and a gas station very close-by. We only had breakfast in the hotel for one day, but it was perfect. The staff was lovely. Extremely polite and down to earth. The room was super clean and surprisingly spacious. There's a parking in front of the hotel and if that's full there's one behind it, easy to find and super close-by. It was also a short drive away from Messe Essen (around 20 minutes), which was perfect for us. The town is also really beautiful to walk about. The buildings have that old European quality to it. It feels like a fairy tale. All in all, I'd stay here again and recommend it to everyone.

The staff were very friendly and I felt welcome at every contact I had with them. The breakfast service was very attentive, and eggs and coffee were made on the spot! The internet connection was very fast and reliable.

The hotel room was a bit small and old-fashioned, but it was comfortable. The parking spaces were a bit too narrow.

Nice Staff that replied positively to my demand. Supermarket, gas station and train station just nearby. Good location

The Parking lot front of the hotel is most of the time full, as a result, we must park our car behind which is less convenient.

The Hotel and the locality are wery good (in the neigborhood there is a wery good restaurant). The matraces are good (not soft and not hard - so enough). There is in the price also possibility to make tea or coffee in the room, .....
