Hotel Dorer is a wonderful, comfotable, traditional Black Forest hotel. We had a lovely room with a view over the valley and a good sized balcony. A small bottle of sparkling wine was a welcome gift in our room. The hotel's indoor swimming pool was great and it was also only 5 mins walk to the excellent local outdoor pool. There was a sauna area in the hotel but we didnt test that out. Dinner was on the pricey side but very well worth it. We had the seasonal menu which was amazing and the local wine was good too. Breakfast was plentful and tasty. The family who run the hotel are welcoming and very professional. There are lots of walks straight from the hotel and the helpful tourist information office is only a few minutes away. We will certainly stay again!

Nothing Ok

The breakfast was superb; wide choice and very good quality. Good room and the balcony had a splendid Schwarzwald view. Pleasant family run hotel and parking right outside.

No tea or coffee facilities in the room but otherwise comfortable and pleasant. Schonwald is quiet (our visit was in August) which suited us.

We found this cosy in lace by accident, but what a find this is! Feels like you’re being transported back 50 years in time, but it n a good way. Staff is extremely friendly, and the food in the restaurant is simply delicious. Wa are already plotting to come back this winter!

The place was very well maintained, the dinner was very good, staff was friendly.

Mattress can be more comfortable and also better if it’s one big mattress in place of two, in a double room. Seems like the breakfast tables were fixed for the rooms.

Wonderful owners. It was very easy to connect to the wifi and it worked very well. Our room was perfect. We booked the junior suite and it was lovely with a large, spotless bathroom with beautiful, ornate fixtures. Our room had two entrances. The back door opened up to a beautiful terrace with a path that leads down to the street where there is a small park. It was extremely convenient for walking our dogs. The food in the restaurant was amazing. Michelin star quality in our opinion. The prices were also very reasonable for the quality.

We did the reservation for one night only, but the service and the place were so amazing that we decided to stay longer! The breakfast and the sauna were totally awesome.

Everything, from the hostess/owner Manuella to the quaint outside and inside. Great little restaurant, delicious food. It has been in the ownership of the same family for over 80 years. Just beautiful!

Wonderful! Everything you need from a hotel. Wonderful people who care about what they provide. Nothing was too much trouble. Perfect! Secure parking if you are on a motorcycle.

I stayed in the hotel a few years ago - my sister was visiting from the U.S and I wanted her to experience a European "hotel". This was perfect - excellent for our needs. Very authentic European hotel, like a little museum. The decor is just amazing. The view was excellent (park with flowers), we were able to walk into town to eat (also had the choice to eat at the hotel). The breakfast was very traditional and wonderful. My sister LOVED it!
