We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast selection was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh options each morning. The hotel also has a great location for discovering the Black Forest, making it a perfect base for day trips and exploring the region.

The only small issue we had was that the beer was served a bit warm at first, but thankfully, the great waiter quickly sorted it out and we ended up with a perfectly chilled one. Excellent service made all the difference!

Very nice hotel situated within a short walking distance from the town. We had a Comfort double room which had air-conditioning which was quiet and very effective. No sound heard from adjacent rooms or nearby road. Two pillows provided per person which was useful. Meal in the restaurant was also good. Good carpark next to the hotel.

Possibly a coffee machine in the reception area or in the room would have made our stay even better.

Beautiful lobby, decent breakfast, walkable from downtown Gengenbach. Appreciated the front desk staff: their kindness and recommendations. Super comfy bed.

The room I was given at check in did not match the details from the one I booked. (This was resolved to a degree.) The heat seems to be turned down at night with no warning. It was below freezing outside. (The staff isn't there at night, and they couldn't do anything anyway). Would have been nice to have an option for when the hotel restaurant is closed on Sunday evening (cold lunch box?). The internet wasn't consistent (shut off for both devices early the morning of check out). Truly terrible pillows (as usual here).

The hotel is a perfect wellness retreat in Gengenbach, given the room rates and the location. A Konus card is given at check-in so that you can visit almost anywhere in the black forest using public transport. There are saunas including a Finnish sauna and a steam room and a swimming pool. The breakfast is very good. The bedrooms are spacious with comfortable bed. The staff were very helpful.

Peaceful area, beautiful flowers, nice swimmingpool and the sauna felt like a real Finnish sauna, tidy room with balcony. Glutenfree bread and vegan milk available.

The room got a bit cramped with the bed couch and there were only two chairs on the balcony. It would have been nice with a possibility to have breakfast outside. The friendly staff let us do so the last morning, although the space outside was quite narrow and only had a few tables in the shadow. One morning there were fresh strawberries but it felt like you had fewer options if you had your breakfast a bit later.

Excellent location. All the staff were exceptionally polite and helpful. Rooms were lovely, and the kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool. The restaurant ambience was nice, and the breakfast choices and quality were great! There are many spacious parking spots in the hotel, and they have an electric charging facility as well for the cars.

I can't think of any negatives.

Spacious rooms. Quiet hotel. Lovely location - 5 mins walk from the train station and into the town. The swimming pool was great. The breakfast buffet was good - it had a good range of foods to choose from. All the staff were friendly. We travelled with our 3 year old - she had a separate bed and there was also a little playground next to the hotel.

Very nice Hotel, super friendly staff. The Restaurant is also super and absolutely not pricey! The bar as well as the lobby are good options to let an evening end. Breakfast offers all you need. The Hotel is very well located, the old town can be reached by walk within 10 minutes.

The room was already a bit old, old carpets, old furniture, old curtains. Also the wellness area with the pool, sauna and steam room has its age...

Breakfast was great, facility was in wonderful condition and well appointed, large rooms. This was a great location to explore the Black Forest!

Only issue was the lack of pillows. We were provided w one pillow per person (maybe bc they sell “gourmet” pillows for $75?). There was very limited reception staff overnight.

The hotel is very close to the black forest and Gengenbach city center, so we could just walk everywhere. There was a supermarket beside the hotel that offered lots of vegan products, so we were very happy to be able to make our own sandwiches and get healthy snacks for our trip. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful, lots of variety, especially of bread and cheese. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious as well, so it was a great experience in general.

My only issue is that there weren't any rooms with a double bed, but I've been told that's a thing in Germany in general, they just offer two twin beds and you have to push them together.
