Beautiful lobby, decent breakfast, walkable from downtown Gengenbach. Appreciated the front desk staff: their kindness and recommendations. Super comfy bed.

The room I was given at check in did not match the details from the one I booked. (This was resolved to a degree.) The heat seems to be turned down at night with no warning. It was below freezing outside. (The staff isn't there at night, and they couldn't do anything anyway). Would have been nice to have an option for when the hotel restaurant is closed on Sunday evening (cold lunch box?). The internet wasn't consistent (shut off for both devices early the morning of check out). Truly terrible pillows (as usual here).

The hotel is a perfect wellness retreat in Gengenbach, given the room rates and the location. A Konus card is given at check-in so that you can visit almost anywhere in the black forest using public transport. There are saunas including a Finnish sauna and a steam room and a swimming pool. The breakfast is very good. The bedrooms are spacious with comfortable bed. The staff were very helpful.

Peaceful area, beautiful flowers, nice swimmingpool and the sauna felt like a real Finnish sauna, tidy room with balcony. Glutenfree bread and vegan milk available.

The room got a bit cramped with the bed couch and there were only two chairs on the balcony. It would have been nice with a possibility to have breakfast outside. The friendly staff let us do so the last morning, although the space outside was quite narrow and only had a few tables in the shadow. One morning there were fresh strawberries but it felt like you had fewer options if you had your breakfast a bit later.

Breakfast was great, facility was in wonderful condition and well appointed, large rooms. This was a great location to explore the Black Forest!

Only issue was the lack of pillows. We were provided w one pillow per person (maybe bc they sell “gourmet” pillows for $75?). There was very limited reception staff overnight.

Very nice Hotel, super friendly staff. The Restaurant is also super and absolutely not pricey! The bar as well as the lobby are good options to let an evening end. Breakfast offers all you need. The Hotel is very well located, the old town can be reached by walk within 10 minutes.

The room was already a bit old, old carpets, old furniture, old curtains. Also the wellness area with the pool, sauna and steam room has its age...

The hotel is very close to the black forest and Gengenbach city center, so we could just walk everywhere. There was a supermarket beside the hotel that offered lots of vegan products, so we were very happy to be able to make our own sandwiches and get healthy snacks for our trip. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful, lots of variety, especially of bread and cheese. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious as well, so it was a great experience in general.

My only issue is that there weren't any rooms with a double bed, but I've been told that's a thing in Germany in general, they just offer two twin beds and you have to push them together.

Good hotel in general, if you actually want to stay in Gengenbach. Comfortable beds, big enough rooms, clean, decent food. It is quite reachable from the train station (10 min walk). Friendly enough staff.

Our ask for a different pillow from the pillow menu was just forgotten. We could not be bothered late at night to bring that up. The strict check in after 3pm only (!) is also not very guest friendly.

The breakfast was really good, lots of choices and freshly prepared. The hotel has lots of parking slots, so good in this regard, no worry of finding one. The room was quite spacious, and super important - beds are really comfortable, I had a good sleep. The bathroom is big and the shower as well, enough space for a decent little well-being moment. I like the toiletries that are Rituals. I know the hotel has sauna and pool, but did not have the chance to check it. The hotel is located conveniently 10 mins walk from the old charming town center. I liked the fact that the wifi is free and no problems with connection or speed at all, it worked perfectly. All in all, it's a good location for a weekend getaway, but I'd not stay here for a week. It's really comfortable and good quality, but def not a luxury stay. I will definitely return, as I want to check the spa, and the location is conveniently near the town, but still in nature (fresh air, green environment), but I'll stay just a couple of nights.

What I found a bit strange is that you cannot adjust the air conditioning in the room to lower than 22 degrees - this is the lowest. Also there is no option for lunch, their on-site restaurant is closed during the day, and available for dinner only, so you have to go to the town or to a grocery shop. And even though the bar was opened and some guests were there, the bar tender would not show up for more than 30 minutes (!!!). I was working on my laptop, this is why I was still there, but if this was another bar, I'd get up and walk away. Although the staff is helpful and friendly, the friendliness is a bit too much and lacking professionalism. Some guests like this kind of "we're a family" approach, I'd expect a bit more (linked to my travel experience probably).

Dogs are not allowed into the restaurant for breakfast, but breakfast can be taken in the bar area next door with your dog.

Rooms are very comfortable and the facilities fine. The pool is excellent, clean and a good size. The breakfast was generous and varied. We hired bicycles which were excellent and enabled us to both ride into town for dinner and to explore the region.

The wifi was very poor and we had to keep logging off and on to get satisfaction.
