the fence doors to the balcony in our room, the old world timber frame and decor. the smiling and happy greeting. we arrived just after the restaurant had closed and were still served- with a smile! the food was delicious.

the decor was not a four star level. however, I still liked it. I could see that the customer designer draperies, curtains and upholstery bed cornice with drapes were from another decade. still impeccably clean and with a style that is classic, really, I enjoyed the decor even though I could see that it was not new. I really liked the restaurant decor and half- timbering.

The restaurant was beautiful, food delicious and typical of the Black Forest, staff went above and beyond especially as we arrived late but the waitress kept the restaurant open for us and was extremely welcoming and kind. It was a really special family meal. The room was lovely and just so welcome to be in an old building where you can actually just open the windows and jet the fresh air in! Lovely bathroom room. Great breakfast, it really felt like we were staying in a home, not a clinical hotel.

We were given the option of a large double and sofabed, or large double and two singles, and specifically asked for a large double and two twin beds, (this night was a night off from a campervan holiday so our kids just needed one night with a bit of space!) but got the sofabed. Luckily it was large enough and comfy but not ideal!

That the hotel was a welcoming traditional Black Forest hotel, being a family hotel of many generations. We would recommend a stay here to explore the surroundings.

Some people might find it not modern enough but as far as we were concerned it was a traditional hotel that should reflect it's age and modernisation would spoil things to a certain extent. The facilities however were good.

Beautiful views of the forest and close to the highway exit to make it an easy place to get to Freiburg and Triberg. I liked that breakfast was included.

There was lots of mold in the two showers we had in our room. The bathrooms were big and updated but the shower itself needs some updating. I’m could tell they were clean but it’s hard to get corners and the shower head had lots of calcium build up so it sprayed funny. Labeling the handles would have made it easier on which shower head to use as well.

I love the hotel and the area. Hotel staff was absolutely brilliant and spoke very good English. Big room with bathroom cleaned daily. Food was fresh and tasty. Breakfast was amazing. Thank you for letting us stay in your Hotel

It was very hot and the aircon did not do anything to reduce the heat. As our windows had to be opened at night due to heat, early morning traffic was noticed around 5-6am

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and made us feel at home. The room was very large and spacious which was great. We were traveling with our dog, and he was very welcome, also during breakfast and dinner. there are also nearby hikes for those looking to stretch their legs. The breakfast was good value for money, would be nice if there was more variation in food during the week.

The only downside was that the room was dusty under the bed and behind areas such as the tv. after we mentioned it they cleaned the room right away.

Tasty buffet breakfast. Plenty of choice. Varied menu for dinner. Very friendly, helpful staff.

Wi-Fi not good in bedroom due to thickness of walls.

The outside appearance of the hotel is just what is expected of this type of stay. The hotel host was very pleasant and accomodating. The breakfast was good.

Hotel getting a little rough around the edges, with a little TLC, this would be an incredible place to stay.

We book a 4 people room, it was big, with 2 bathrooms and a armchair, even a balcony. Really friendly staff, good restaurant. Traditional house.

All was good.
