Free train/bus ticket for the length of our stay, which covered the Black Forest region. Room was comfortable and spacious. Waffle maker at breakfast. Lovely location,, great views, walks and cycle rides. Outdoor play area for the kids.

The facilities were not all available due to water damage, so we weren't able to enjoy a lot of the things we'd expected when we'd booked (with kids). Might be worth checking this if this is important to you. The evening meal was very expensive and with very little choice so we only ate there once but found many great restaurants in the next village. They didn't seem to replenish breakfast towards the end so we made a point of getting there before 9 (it finished at 10) to ensure there was a selection available.

Friendly welcome, quirky old style but modern decor, spacious room with large balcony with view of surrounding countryside and hills. Hotel is set in quiet location about 1km away from local village. Food in the restaurant was excellent despite the limited menu. Breakfast also excellent with wide choice a hot and cold food, fresh fruit, and even a waffle maker is available. In the basement is also an excellent sauna room (although the plunge pool was not filled when I used it) which is available for use in mornings and not just evenings (cost 5€ which seemed fair to me). Outside there is large dining balcony, and lower down is a large covered terrace and looks like they sometimes have bbq events there. The landscaped garden is very quirky and attractive with a well equipped children's play area and even has a small church in the corner where there was some singing entertainment on on evening of my visit. Location is excellent for exploring the many local cycling and walking trails.

More extensive menu would be nice but it is adequate and food was excellent. However, no complaints about selection at breakfast! My room which was on an extension wing to main part didn't have the traditional balcony flowers, perhaps as hotel was not very busy still being out of peak season.

Friendly staff, spacious rooms, and a rich breakfast.

People smoked in adjacent rooms that had balconies - that meant all their smoke came into our room. We called reception, and they informed us that, according to German law, people are allowed to smoke on the balconies. It took the nonsmoking room element out of our vacation, but other than that, we had a good time.

Generally, pretty much everything. Friendly staff and nice breakfast. We enjoyed the location a lot. Of course, the area and the views are very pleasant. We'll definitely consider coming back if we're in the area.

Perhaps some elements inside the hotel could use some refurbishment but nothing major. Service was a little bit slow in the evening, but we had no issues with it anyway.

Great location, close to the Kandel Gipfel. Room was clean & I loved that you can request different pillow types depending on how you sleep. The small touches are considered. I had the Schnitzel for evening meal, very tasty! Breakfast was great too, with a good selection. Staff were very friendly - I had left my glasses in the room & they didn’t hesitate when I asked if they could post them.

Nothing to dislike

The personnel were friendly and attentive. The waitress remembered our preferences at dinner. The breakfast was excellent.

It might have been nice to have a few more menu choices; however, everything that we ate at dinner was excellent.

An absolutely beautiful and peaceful location, the entire hotel is just stunning. Dinner and breakfast was great. The beautiful church in the premises was a plus.

Everything was superb.

Old style cosy decor & views

The set menu was OK for me although the only starter, smoked salmon, no longer available & only one dessert left My husband did not like either mains so chose from the 'a la carte' menu.

Comfortable bed. Friendly staff excellent dinner. Breakfast was ok

It was unseasonably hot and there were no fans either in the bedroom or the restaurant

Very quiet situation- lovely forest nearby- very well maintained and organised Excellent breakfast choices.

Not much choice in the dinner menu considering the class of hotel.
